I've long said that my graphic design ability is my greatest talent. Sorry to drop such a masterpiece of a banner on you all with no warning. Thanks to the 28 of you who submitted a song that didn't get vetoed for this contest (plus myself for a total of 29, matching the number in the last contest for the joint third most in Nuggets history, we take that), apologies for the slight delay due to the late vetoes but it is now time to get stuck into the voting Simply have a listen through all of our fine specimens listed below and once you've decided on your 10 favourites drop a PM to me awarding points to them in Eurovision style - 12 points to your favourite, 10 to your second favourite and 8 through 1 to your 3rd through 10th favourites. You may not vote for your own song of course. Anyone is free to vote in this whether or not you have a song in the running, but it is imperative that you do submit votes if you did submit a song, under penalty of Due to this thread going up a couple of days later than I planned I'll extend the voting deadline a couple of days later than planned as well, so the deadline will be 23:59 GMT on Friday 26th February 2021 with results to follow on the evening of Saturday 27th. (Again I'll accept slightly late votes if they come in before the results thread goes up but this does give you 13 full days - plus 2 hours right now - to vote which should be more than enough time, try not to be tardy xx). If anyone would like to volunteer to make some YouTube and Spotify playlists be my guest - failing that I will give one of my questionably committed promises to make them myself 'soon' x
edit: both now up and edited into the first post, thank you Wardy & Frank |

Oh wow that W O L F C L U B song is in my chart right now - will already tip that as a winning contender tbh x (obviously not me who sent it though!) I remember The Hardkiss from BJSC too but don't know that song. Of course recognise the likes of Fyfe Dangerfield, One Night Only and Kellin Quinn by name also.
Looking forward to getting stuck in soon ~ |

I have made a Spotify playlist (I think it is correct though I have doubts about the song selections for #5 and #8 if someone could check!)

#5 seems not to be the correct one Andrew.
And #8 is the right one and the original title is indeed Кобра and not Kobra so whoever sent that their hands needs to be slapped |

That means unfortunately that #5 is the only one unavailable on Spotify. Someone else can make the YouTube playlist! |

I saw W O L F C L U B on Jade's chart. So assuming it wasn't actually her that sent it, I am intrigued.

#5 seems not to be the correct one Andrew. And #8 is the right one and the original title is indeed Кобра and not Kobra so whoever sent that their hands needs to be slapped I just changed it to Latin text so people can pronounce it xx Thanks Wardy for the Spotify playlist (and yeah it appears the Dalriada song is missing from Spotify). Edited it into the OP ~ |

Is there a general rule or expectation that all Nuggets entries are meant to be from a recent or current era or are older entries still welcome?

A few here I know!
Not to step on Bre's toes but I've always figured entries can be from whenever! |

To quote the OP of the confirmations thread
Ah but there are a few restrictions on the songs that you can send. First and most importantly, the major gimmick that makes this a different contest to Unknown Pleasures, your entry must be a guitar-based song. You're not restricted on genre, year or (as some will no doubt take advantage of) song length as long as we get some of those sweet riffs. xx |
