To all you guys craving a GaGa forum... she WILL get one if she manages to stay the course and is consistent, heck, she's grown on me too.... Sure, it seems like she'll stay the distance because she has definite cross-over appeal that a good many in this genre lack (which is why those acts end up falling by the wayside fairly rapidly), but personally I dont believe that an act merits a forum with only one album to their credit...

And yeah, I do understand those who'll cite Leona Lewis or The Saturdays and will feel somewhat aggrieved, but I dont believe that they should've got theirs either personally.....

Starstruck should really be the 3rd US single, she needs to smash Xtinas record and imo Starstruck will definately get the 3rd #1 for her. The tracks been in the top 200 download chart ever since the albums release and also Flo is massive there.

Tbh this is how I'd do her singles:

1st - JD
2nd - PF
3rd Europe - BDR
3rd N America - Starstruck
3rd Oceania - Eh Eh
4th - Paparazzi
5th - LoveGame
Possible 6th - Money Honey or Boys Boys Boys or maybe no 6th and replace Eh Eh with one of these two

I just think it would have worked. How would you guys of done the singles?

I would have done the same single order everywhere, don't see the point changing it for different territories.

I did different territories different 3rd singles because I think Starstruck is suited perfectly to N America and wouldn't do as well here but BDR would do well in Europe but I fear it would flop in N America.

It's def one of the "Nine" off the album that I really like.... There's a good deal of humour, knowing sarcasm and irony in the lyrics.... It's GaGa's sharp sense of irony and wit that sets her FAR above the rest of the mainstream pop herd in '09..... God, I'd never thought that I could ever find a #1 best selling artiste to get behind, but then, she's far from being a manufactured act or a Reality TV puppet....

She is officially in my "Cool Book", a smart, talented and sassy "diva"....

'LoveGame' is hideously overrated, its great but nothing compared to 'I Like It Rough', 'Paper Gangsta', 'Boys' etc. This whole single schedule is so disorganised, its annoying, if they already release LoveGame 3rd in Canada then it should be the international 3rd single but whatever.

'Paparazzi' WILL be major, and is by miles a better choice than LG. And Starstruck or I Like It Rough should be the 4th single, so its more varied in sound..

How can people not like 'I Like It Rough'. .? It's the song with her best vocals on the whole album, she actually really sings well on it and her voice isnt synthesized or anything. And the song as a whole is a complete retro dance masterpiece, it'd even be a no.1 contender if it was released imo..
LoveGame on the other hand, like Jonjo is 'OK'.. I hardly get through half the song without skipping it because I only find the ending of the song worth listening to.. Its really slow as well, and the beat is a bit flat. And I doubt a lot of the public would buy it on first listen cause it is hardly catchy. But thats just my opinion.

An insider told the newspaper: "For your first two UK singles to go to number one is amazing and we would like to try and carry that on."

GaGa's debut single 'Just Dance' topped the UK singles chart in January, while her next offering 'Poker Face' followed suit last month.

Her album The Fame also recently topped the UK albums chart for the first time.

There's no way on earth 'I Like It Rough' would make a good single I think. It's one of those songs with an attention grabbing title and a song that doesn't live up to it.

It's strictly an album track. People throw around what they think would make good singles, but a lot of the time they're just citing their favourite songs.

Papparazzi is definately the best 3rd single choice to be honest though im sure 'Boys Boys Boys/Starstruck' double A-Side would be a great choice
for a final single to finish off the era.

It's one of THE best songs I've heard in ages tbh. It grabs your attention right from the start and it doesnt rely on a catchy chorus but catchy verses. I love Paparazzi but I do think they should release Love Game as 4th. I was a bit disappointed to hear that she didn't wanna release it in case the UK thought it rude. To be honest the more radio 1 edit songs, the more publicity the songs seem to get and the better they do. I actually think Love Game is one of my favourites on the album so I really hope they release it.

According to the Audition requirements sent to one of the fan sites, the bits and pieces involve a hot looking boyfriend, a charming hero, and a few party friends.
So it's likely going to be an argument/break-up with her boyfriend and then she probably goes out partying her blues away and then falls inlove with the admirer (paparazzi).
Pretty exciting, and woop at the set pics - looks like another perfect and authentic video is on its way. Yay <3

^ Love Game is like a follow on to what Poker Face sounds like, a no.1 I think would need mass appeal and tbh LG isn't that appealing to do so well immediately after PF. 'Paparazzi' is something different to the market atm and shows a different side/sound of GaGa than what they saw with Just Dance and PF.
Ultimately I'd say Starstruck is her best bet on 3rd no.1 even though I prefer other album tracks over it, it's the only song that has no.1 written all over it.
Paparazzi would have a great chance at the top 5 though where I see LoveGame's hype going down quickly because of its similarities in sound from her previous singles, and then probably just scraping the top 10 or peaking in the top 20. But it is pretty popular in Canada (re-entered their top ten this week) but the hype in Australia is already dying down (stalling on iTunes after peaking at 11) which is not a good sign.. Paparazzi is fresh in other words, it's going to get more airplay than sales where Love Game will get less airplay which means less sales. Perfect single choice if you ask me.

Why is everyone worried about Paparazzi? It's ok if it falls back down charts now because it isn't recieving Airplay/TV Play, Poker Face is still hot and getting all the attention so I imagine Interscope are waiting a few weeks for that to fall before Paparazzi's release.

Once the vid is out it'll get high rotation and hopefully Radio will stop with Poker Face and start spinning Paparazzi so it should all work out fine and GaGa will be able to do some promo here when she tours here and plays at some festivals in the summer.

Agree with Bibliotheque.. The promotion schedule for it is spot-on. Easily top 3/5 imo. It's the typical sleeper hit, like JD was in the US. So once the promotion gets in full force she's bound to be huge with this..
And deservedly so, one of the best on the album and there's just no way GaGa will have two hits from this era, "I think it will reach #11" is a bit of a 'huh? ' opinion.. GaGa is not Girls Aloud.. She's freshly popular. Most artists who are huge on their debut get a hit with every single from their first album. When its your 7th/6th album with 2nd/3rd singles peaking unusually low it's understandable. But with GaGa it's completely different story..

I don't get why everyone is so omg at the Diana scene. It's not like they'd of showed anything distasteful such as her body, I imagine they'd of just shown Paparazzi chasing a car. The song is called Paparazzi you know and that's the extreme of what Paparazzi can do. Yes it's how Diana died but people die in all sorts of ways, many of which I'm sure are in music videos that no-one bats an eyelid over.

The Diana thing just sounds like a malicious rumour, it's not on any of her credible fansites and I highly doubt Interscope would release a music video as controvertial as that..

Some of the hints from the audition requirements of the video give away that it's just involving GaGa, a ex boyfriend and her new to-be boyfriend, the paparazzi/her loyal admirer so it's more likely not to be as controvertial as a Diana mimic. More like just a happily ever after video with plenty of lovescenes, parties, etc as you'd expect from all her Fame era vids ..

This video brings to the very forefront what GaGa represents and whether (imo) she truly does. To me it's a shining example of a video that wants to mean something but really doesn't. It's built on a bed of clichés: the silent interludes, the French speaking, the pushing from the balcony. What does it all mean exactly? What statement is she trying to create with it? It's as subtle as a breezeblock. Also Mr. Ackerland uses essentially rehashes much of his work he did on P!nk's video for 'Sober', just lacking the authenticity.

As much as I think GaGa writes a good tune I don't quite follow all this "art" and "artistry" stuff she seems so keen to push. There's no depth to it, no soul. It's trying to be serious and meaningful for the sake of it rather than to project anything and that shimmies pretty close to fake imo.

It's success in Canada should be a good indicator as to how well it'll fair in the US, being now the 4th single there and it currently striding up Canadian iTunes atm. Four number ones is very unlikely though, LoveGame isn't that certain for no.1 as most of us would like it to be either.

OMG is NZ already moving onto Paparazzi as well? LG has only peaked at 12 there and is still in the top 20 and now Paparazzi's going to get in the way from it rebounding and getting a decent peak like it did in Canada.
Urgh the singles releases have been extremely messy down under - Eh Eh as a 3rd was a complete waste of time and prevented LG from going to no.1 and now Paparazzi being released right in the middle of when LG's meant to be rebounding but oh well Paparazzi ftw now <3

Seemingly emerging out of nowhere and spreading to every corner of the world, Lady GaGa's fame, like swine flu, has reached pandemic levels over the past few months. In much the same way as the H1N1 virus, the 23-year-old makes lots of people hot under the collar, but with her unique "GaGa" style, she's certainly got them talking about it. Continuing on her quest to infect us all, she now returns with single number three.

Slowing down the pace and releasing a midtempo track after two massive number ones is a move that can go terribly wrong for some popstars. But 'Paparazzi' is further evidence that Lady GaGa is immune to the fate of her peers. It's a less bombastic affair than its predecessors, but thanks to a typically catchy chorus and some smart, celebrity-themed lyrics, very nearly as thrilling in the finish. Backed with a hilariously self-indulgent video, it seems GaGa still has us firmly in her clutch and, ahem, squeeling for more.

Top 10 in the UK is guaranteed this week for Paparazzi, #8 in today's midweeks and still holding strong on iTunes.
Great to see it doing so well in Ireland too!
I think this would be huge in Italy, doesn't the word Paparazzi originate from there? if so it is then even more reason to release it there.

So what's life like behind the cameras?

According to Kerry Rhodes, a safety for the New York Jets, who plays a policeman in the video, life pretty much imitates art. While he describes Gaga as "reserved," "focused" and "cool," he admits that the scene around her can be pretty crazy.

"The shoot was ridiculous!" he tells PEOPLE. "Everywhere you turned there was a dead body – not real! – a really big horse-looking dog, and a half-naked model, which was cool."

Rhodes explains that he knew the shoot would be "something out of the ordinary," and, of course, he's a fan of the 23-year-old star. "She’s very talented," he says. "She’s something different for music lovers to listen to."

That said, don't expect the Jets to warm up to "Pokerface" any time soon. When asked if Gaga plays in the locker room, Rhodes laughed, "Not a chance!"

Still, he'll have good stories to tell his fellow NFL players. One of his favorites: "When I was in main dressing room changing and Lady and I bumped into each other mid-change!" he exclaims, before laughing, "No, there was no funny stuff!"

I really doubt that, Cascada's sales are so far ahead even this week that I think not even BEP will be able to catch them. I only see GaGa overtaking La Roux this week which means she'll have to settle for #4 this week, once again. Like the others said she would need and should've done a lot more TV promo, GMTV was never going to be enough to get her a new peak anyway especially with her BEP curse still in full-force. .

Its current uk sales including the last 7 days is 236,059 and its number 5 and im sure wit will stay top 10 for a another 2-3 weeks at the least,id say this will easily sell around 400,000 overall which would be amazing for a third single of a double platnum selling album.

I'm not sure if it's just an impact of being featured on So You Think You Can Dance or confusion about what's her next single but "Boys Boys Boys" shot up into the top 70/80s on both US and Canadian iTunes. If "Paparazzi" gets that sort of promo and full-scale promo unlike "LoveGame" I reckon this could even outpeak LG!

BTW: I think the topic title needs a bit of updating Paparazzi - 3rd UK Single/4th US Single and likewise with LoveGame's topic - 3rd US Single/4th UK Single. .

I think BBB would be huge as a Summer release, but it would definitely be a risk. I think that the only FOR SURE hits she has left on The Fame is Starstruck, the rest aren't near as strong in compared to what she has released so far (except for BBB IMO )

I think if she weren't to do a re-release she should release Starstruck as a 5th single, then do Paper Gangsta in the US with BBB wrapping it up in the internationally.

One can only begin to imagine the effect the VMA performance will have, guaranteed top 5 methinks. Pity "LoveGame" can't equal its success it's had in the US, in the UK. But 4 consecutive top 10s in the US is definitely in the bag by the looks of things (:
