In response to some suggestions, the R&B forum will be introducing some more rates to see how popular demand for them is - and we start with one of the biggest artists in the world right now! The stock of Kendrick Lamar has never been higher, with his highly successful DAMN. album released earlier this year and a sell-out tour of Europe planned for next year. Forgetting his rent-a-rapper features on some pop songs, he has an incredibly strong back catalogue already and we have selected twelve of his most known singles to determine which is Buzzjack's favourite.
Voting for Round 1 will close Friday at midnight, please feel free to discuss and post!
has to be 'i', bit of a poor lead single following 'Swimming Pools' leading the previous album.
Gone for "Poetic Justice" as it's probably the one that I'm least familiar with on the list. I've not listened to "LOVE." much either so that'll probably be my next target depending on which one goes first!
Excited to see these sorts of things being brought to the R&B forum!!
I agree about 'i', loved it at the time and thought it sounded very fresh but it hasn't really aged well and has been overtaken by subsequent singles.
I think 'The Blacker The Berry' has the least replay value for me, so went for that.
LOVE. for me
Went for TBTB, it's amazing but it's the one I got to the least.
LOVE. is actually growing on me, the faint Hotline Bling-esque sample and the overall feel gives me Poetic Justice teas
Actually such a hard choice. For me "i" is his weakest and it's a shame seeing TBTB leading :/
Kingdrick *.* so many good songs here. I've gone for 'Alright' and that is solid so this is going to be difficult throughout.
Lmao I came to vote in this and thought 'I bet BuzzJack will get this really wrong and vote out The Blacker The Berry first or something'
That was NOT MEANT TO BE A SERIOUS THOUGHT RIP his literal best single in the first round
Anyway this is gonna get hard to vote in quickly, I've gone with 'LOYALTY.' but there's not a bad song to be found here ~ I'm just not really as familiar with the 'DAMN.' singles (apart from 'HUMBLE.') as I've been a flop fan and not actually listened to the album yet oops.
LOYALTY. is a good shout actually, a good song but I think a Kendrick/Rihanna song could have been so much stronger.
'i' to go for me in the first round.
all good singles, Loyalty is probably the least essential for me
The Blacker the Berry leaving first? what a bad sign of things to come
Deadline moved to midnight TONIGHT. Realised I'm busy Friday night.
Get your votes in, looking pretty close.
