Nice opening for What Men Want, glad it did well here cos I had a feeling it might've bombed here. That's what I was expecting around for Fisherman's Friends, it's been advertised non-stop over the past couple of months
So glad 'Fighting With My Family' has performed well in the UK

Hellboy has been such a massive flop.
I'm not sure how to feel about it because on one hand I'm extremely dissapointed we got this instead of a Pearlman/Del Toro Hellboy 3. However I do also really like the character of Hellboy so it's a shame to see this which will probably stop the character being used in Film for a long while.
Baring the 3rd film, I think a Netflix show would have been the right choice for the character.

That's an incredible 2nd weekend for Joker. It's going to finish very high in the highest grossing films of 2019 if it continues to hold like that.
Dissapointing that The Day Shall Come didn't open better as I'm very hyped to see it after how good Four Lions was. It does feel like a film that doesn't require a cinema viewing and I imagine most people will just wait for VOD.
(The opera in 7th is called Turandot not Turnadot btw)
Wow that's a remarkably small drop off for the Joker!
Wow at Joker's hold! That's insane!

I see Frozen 2 is out Christmas Eve. Wonder how long that'll reign on top of the UK chart then.
I think Last Christmas will be top before Frozen 2 hits.
Wonder how the Charlie's Angels remake will do.
Black Christmas, out 13th Dec, could do well too.
Last Christmas could potentially get number 1 the week before, yeah.
I think this was such a wrong time of year for Charlie's Angels. It's gonna bomb, hard. There will be Twitter cries about female directors etc.. so I'm not looking forward to that week </3

Great to see Blue Story getting a solid opening even with Vue dropping it and the controversy surrounding it.
Very good opening for Frozen II even if it is a bit under what the The Lion King managed in the summer.
A bit late to note this but I believe the 6 weeks Joker managed at the top is the longest run since Avatar 10 years ago
Will Frozen increase in viewers as Christmas draws closer?
Thanks, just not a big follower of the movie chart.
Wow what an opening for Frozen.
I personally think Frozen will be number 1 until January, it will be the film people will want to watch over the Xmas holidays.
Surely Star Wars at least will beat it in its opening week?

Surprised LC isn't No2 anymore!
Is there a weekly USA box office chart? I wanted to see how well Charlie's Angels had done! It can't compete with Frozen, but a strong no.2 will do!
Bit of a flop here too for Charlie's Angels.
Jumanji did so well in 2017/2018 because it held up well in to January after the last Star Wars film got good critic reviews but got slammed by the audiences. Star Wars will open to huge number, but it will depend on the audience/critics whether it holds up well in to the new year. Otherwise Frozen/Jumanji likely to beat it over the box office.
But Star Wars is going to open to massive numbers Avengers style that’s for sure.
Knives Out was a amazing...glad it managed to debut #2 in UK as well!!!
Yeh I've heard it's poor, I like seeing a Christmas film at this time of year though.
Yeh it's good but I'm sentimental so like home alone, national lampoon and it's a wonderful life ❤️

Frozens peofits reducing quite a bit, might go up as the Xmas holidays get started!
Will Jumanji knock Frozen off the top? I say no but Star Wars will the week after.
Star Wars will likely but it'll be Christmas holidays so Frozens sales will be huge too!
Will be interesting to see what happens!
I think Frozen 2 decreased to a level last week that Jumanji can now easily beat - when I was checking the Cineworld website yesterday, everywhere appeared to be showing it a ridiculous amount of times
Jumanji will easily be #1. It's previews from last week (which would have been enough for it to open at #2) will be added to what it makes this weekend.
Never saw the appeal of it but thats just me.
Think when the schools are off Frozen could climb again.

I'm surprised Black Christmas did that well! It was absolute garbage.
If it keeps doing ok they'll keep churning out trash!
It's an ad thing tho diluted quality for the sake of a quick buck!
Star Wars will be No.1 by a mile this week but wonder where Cats will come in.
Cats not doing too well. From BBC News:
The movie version of Cats has failed to live up to expectations at the box office, taking just $6.5m (£5m) at the North American box office.
The $100m (£77m) film, which was expected to make double that amount, debuted fourth on the US chart, with the new Stars Wars movie on top.
In the UK and Ireland, it grossed £3.4m, having been panned by critics.
According to Hollywood Reporter, an updated print of Cats was sent out to cinemas on Friday.
The trade paper reported that the film's director, Tom Hooper, had ordered re-edits to his film with "some improved visual effects", ready for release.
It is highly unusual for a finished title already on release to be altered in this way.
The movie has an all-star cast that includes Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson and Jason Derulo and is based on the hit stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
With Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker at number one at the US box office, Cats trailed after Jumanji: The Next Level and Frozen 2.
Decent enough for the UK, but I doubt it's going to have longevity now, but we will see. As Sam said to me once, this time of year we can't really tell with movies until after the Christmas/New Year period. Everything is slightly skewed and can hold on strong but then the following week it could have a sharp decline.
Abysmal result in the US though. Shocking tbh.
Yeh a lot of people will be in the cinema from after Xmas Day imo as the schools are off!

Huge figures for Star Wars!!
I actually didn't realise that old Xmas films showings would have such an impact. Lol at Home Alone 2 being there ahead of he original.
Very good sales for Star Wars which should stay on top for a few weeks now,
That's actually some surprisingly solid numbers for Cats in the UK, and definitely not in line with the "flop" headlines it's been getting - although I recognise that it hasn't done as well in the biggest market, the US, and still is likely to end up as a money loser unless it has a large tail to its takings over the next few weeks.
It's been advertised to death in the UK!
I imagine a lot of Cats sales will be pre-booked/people paying to see it before reading reviews etc..
The 2nd week drop (if it does drop ofc) will be a lot more telling I'd imagine.
Yeh it'll maybe fall quickly!

Cats hasn't dropped this week as much as I thought it might. I mean the takings.
SO CLOSE between Jumanji & Little Women
That's a huge win for LW though. I def expected about £2m-£2.5m to debut and have a slow and steady decline.
Cats is actually doing ok.. but we'll see after the holidays. But it's not a complete disaster over here at least
