Why isn't We Built This City a proper song? It retains the original melody from the Starship song and actually has a guitar on it which is a rarity in the top 40 these days. Just because the lyrics are humorous doesn't disqualify it either. Yes,the vocals are out of tune but I'm taking that as a backlash against the use of autotune by today's pop singers. I've just had a listen to this Ava Max song which I hadn't heard before today and I can't detect a proper musical instrument being played on it at all. Only one of these songs is proper and it isn't 'Sweet But Psycho'. Well, I suppose if you consider "proper" as doing what they're doing to what sounds like a SingStar backing track... |

It was recorded in a studio how does it make it any less "proper" All I'm doing is refuting the suggestion that Ladbaby has "real" musical merit over 'Sweet But Psycho'. I mean, I'm very much certain that the guitar itself is computer produced anyway. This post has been edited by Tawdry Hepburn: 22nd December 2018, 01:22 PM |

I dont think anyone is suggesting he is a good singer by that logic we have had a fair few number 1s this year where the "singer" has been crap. So are not "proper" songs. No matter how bad something is you cant not call it a "proper" song. |

LadBaby will release his follow-up & score back-to-back Xmas #1s. I kinda expect him to try again next year, if it worked this time, might work again I'll be shook if you correctly predicted this a year ago!Drake may sneeze ed may fart that week Adele might come out of hiding anything This is still funny |
