QUOTE Based on a popular Dutch series of the same name and hosted by actor Alan Cumming, the network touts it as a “psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game.” The 20 contestants (both celebrity and non-celebrity) “come together to complete a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize,” which could be up to $250,000. The catch, of course, is that three of the contestants – a.k.a. “the traitors” – are tasked with will devising a plan to steal the prize from the rest of the group – coined “the faithful.” Familiar faces in the cast include Big Brother winners Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly, Survivor players Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Brandi Glanville, Summer House star Kyle Cooke, former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr., Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan and Olympian Ryan Lochte. The “regular” contestants include a van life influencer, political analyst, yoga instructor, ER nurse, actress and more. The series is set in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands, and Peacock describes the competition as “a game chock-full of alliances, deception and even ‘murder.’” “We can’t wait for Peacock audiences to experience and play along in this epic game of manipulation and deceit, all while the iconic Alan Cumming pulls the strings of our incredible cast to create the ultimate ‘whodunit,’” Corie Henson, EVP Entertainment Unscripted Content at NBCUniversal, said in the press release. The Traitors premieres with all 10 episodes dropping January 12, 2023, on Peacock. Seems to be quite the popular franchise, and it's very interesting to see Reality Stars/Celebrities working with regular folk. Cirie, Stephenie, Kate Chastain and Brandi Glanville are all great casting decisions in my mind. Can't wait! This post has been edited by WhoOdyssey: 19th January 2024, 03:52 PM |

Hoping it will be available on Now TV which gets some Peacock content, but I feel like there's often a delay rather than the shows being available at the same time as the US? (just basing this from two seasons of "Girls5eva", no idea aside from that really)
Can't wait for Rachel, hope she doesn't get banished or murdered straight away but I feel like she could be due to how loud she is. Traitors better grab a life vest! |

All ten episodes have dropped. I'm stoked for this franchise and can't wait to watch this.
I got my bestie addicted, we watched AU and UK pretty quickly. I did watch the first episode up to the Traitors Selection... Christian, Cirie and Cody. Christian seems like a very early first Traitors boot, Cody unfortunately may be in it for the long haul. I was hoping they would pick Cirie and/or Kate. |

Binged this over this weekend and I’ve got to say Cirie is a QUEEN and she played such a brilliant game . She fully deserved to win all the money . I have to respect Arie for not doing a Kieron from the UK version and not throwing her under the bus after being banished at the final hurdle also .

I too binged all the episodes this weekend.
High level without any spoilers, not as good as the UK Version. Unfortunately. I found the connection between the Celebrities and the Regular Folk was off, they hardly showed any of the new people.. so.. why cast them at all? They should have just added 8 more Celebs. Dropped the nobodies and I would have been happy. I questioned the Traitor decisions at the beginning, but they were probably the best traitors they could have picked. I don't think the Traitors ever gained any momentum, or really had a hand in influencing the game. They really just stayed under the radar and never adapted any strategy to their eliminations. They were incredibly boring to watch. Weak gameplay by the Faithful as well, it seemed like they were chasing absolutely nothing at the beginning of the game. Their gameplay as well made no sense. I'd say my Top 5 (regardless of Traitor or Faithful) would be: Rachel, Cirie, Kate, Brandi and I guess.. Stephenie? I mean. Those 5 were basically the entire season. |

Absolutely loved the US version, it was veryyyy entertaining!
My thoughts on the winner: SO deserved Cirie did absolutely incredible, now THAT is how you play a reality show Also that Cody was hot |

I'm 6 episodes through and yeah nowhere near as gripping or iconic as the UK series. The US version feels way more manufactured - I do feel the mix of celebrities and 'normalies' was weird. It would have been better with one or the other.
It probably highlights what a great job Will did and ultimately what a good job the casting team did. |

While I do agree it wasn’t as strong as the UK version I still very much enjoyed the US version . I wasn’t really familiar with any of the reality TV ‘Celebs’ apart from Brandi so the split of half normal and reality celebs didn’t bother me that much. Going forward though they probably should pick one or the other .

The UK version was definitely more iconic, but the US version was at least an entertaining watch. I didn't know who any of the celebs were apart from Ryan Lochte so it didn't feel too weird for me. I did still feel a lot more manufactured than the UK version due to having people who clearly understood or were familiar with how reality TV works.
The only way I think the US version has bettered the UK version is the more satisfying ending - Cirie is a winner that actually deserved the prize for their gameplay and strategy, unlike the UK version with the three winners stumbling their way to the prize almost by chance due to the Traitors giving themselves/each other away. |
