Confirmed to be the fifth single apparently! The song is a re-imagination of Simon & Garfunkel's song Cecilia, with new verses written for this version. Apparently the video is being shot next week with a new version out on iTunes in September!

FANTASTIC choice, my favourite of the remaining tracks on the album wub.gif

Boo. Having listened to the album last night, this is quite cringy. Should've been Risk It All, but I don't really think (as much as I like just about all the album) any of the songs left sound like smash singles, so I'd have ended it at Somebody To You.

Girls On TV would have been my next single choice, it has a nice vibe

They move on far too quickly from single to single in my opinion. Somebody To You was only released last week!

I think Somebody To You would have been the best song to close this era. I doubt they will get another top 10 with this one sad.gif

I don't think top 10 will be an issue as long as they continue to do the online bundles of 2 CDs, DVD and MP3 download, plus the EP, and then this apparent new mix.

This. I do agree however that they are moving quite fast from single to single huh.gif

'Girls on TV' definitely should have been the next single (although I do agree with the comments saying 'Somebody to You' should have closed the campaign). Hopefully they do get another top 10 with it though just bc my boys wub.gif

Girls On TV would've done AWFULLY as a single IMO, it's definitely just an album track...

They're not moving on particularly quickly, this is out in September which leaves a two to three month gap, which isn't particularly short. There was a three month gap between Somebody To You and Last Night also.

I think Girls On TV would be just as good of a choice, they're both pretty cheesy pop tracks, do the same job. But Girls on TV is definitely the better song imo.

This is an absolutely MASSIVE mistake. It's a guilty pleasure album track for me but releasing it as a single is going to do so much damage to their credibility!

I'd say the exact same if they were releasing "Girls On TV"..(not that I'm in favour of them pushing this as a single either)

As much as I love half a dozen tracks left on the album I don't know if any scream single so I'd have wrapped the era up after "Somebody To You" (and got some new material ready for the arena tour next April/May) but with one post-album single so far perhaps they want to be flogging some more albums (and have something out around the time of the September/October tour). unsure.gif

Often the album release week can indicate what songs have the widest appeal, as you can see what's been cherrypicked. Oh Cecilia entered at #137 (just two places behind Somebody To You), with two deluxe tracks entering lower down. Girls On TV not in sight, so evidently it was cherrypicked considerably less.

I wondered if this would be a single; probably a smart move as it will probably pull in a different sort of fan for them that remember/ know the original etc.

It is a catchy song though and I can see it doing well + probably helping the album sell more (it has done relatively well anyway).

Risk it All would've been a great single choice though must be said.

Surprised they are releasing a 5th single from the album though, I mean most pop acts would do 1 post album release

Personally not a fan of this song really, I don't like the original and as much as I like The Vamps I'd rather they have released Risk It All or Girls On TV but surprised they are releasing another single from the album. That being said I actually think this will do quite well

Agreed, 'Risk It All' sounds like it could do well because obviously it's a bit different to their other singles, and 'Girls on TV' I still think would be able to manage low top 10 or at least top 15 (which still isn't anything to frown upon), but god forbid they release anything that wasn't cherry-picked a great deal. laugh.gif

You've TOTALLY missed the point. It's not a bad thing, but if people listen to the album previews and download their favourite tracks, that will show up on iTunes and in this case, the official chart. Oh Cecilia is the only remaining album track to have made the top 200 on these cherry picks, which bodes VERY well for a release I think.

I don't think I have lol, and there's no need to go all caps-lock.

You don't need to keep justifying why 'Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)' should have been chosen as a single, I didn't even object to that in my post. There's just no reason why 'Girls on TV' (or any other song from the album in fact) couldn't do as well as this should they have been picked as a single just because "oh cecilia made top 200 on cherry-picks!!!!1"
