It's been 5 years and 1 week today since Keisha was sacked, Sugababes 3.0 ceased to exist and Sugababes 4.0 began it's short-lived chapter in the Babes History books. |

God, it really doesn't seem like that long ago to me!
I remember being utterly shocked at first, and subsequently very annoyed. This was just completely different to when Mutya left. All of the forums I post on went wild, pages and pages of discussion about it. So dramatic! How I wish Keisha, Heidi & Amelle had just stuck it out long enough to release 'About A Girl' and 'Sweet 7' as 3.0. Although this single and album aren't looked back on with high regard these days, I'm sure these releases would have been so much more successful if it had been business as usual. And if things between them didn't improve after the album release, then I think I'd have preferred a split rather than what actually happened. I loved the 3.0 line up and it was a great shame that it ended in such a bitter way. I never really accepted Jade as a Sugababe. She's lovely of course, but even 2 years later when they were promoting 'Freedom' I still saw them as two members of the Sugababes + Jade Ewen. Nevertheless I wish they'd attempted to give a proper 4.0 album a go. It would have been interesting to hear a whole album that was conceived by that line up. I wonder how hard they feared 'Freedom' would flop to end up cutting their losses and part ways with each other? Heidi evidently felt that appearing on Dancing On Ice was a better prospect. It's a pity that everything to do with Sugababes is over now. It seems evident that Mutya Keisha Siobhan is just not going to happen, and I can't see 4.0 ever trying again. None of them cut it as soloists either, not for a lack of talent but mainly because that ship has well and truly sailed for them all. |

It was always one of those things I used to joke about, that if Keisha were to leave there would be no original members... and then it happened.
I always knew that was the final nail in the Sugababes coffin, you simply cannot exist as 3 different girls to the original line-up. |

Heidi always felt original to me and to be fair I would class her as being just as original as Siobhan, not technically obviously.
Still pretty impressive that 4.0 managed 2 top 10's regardless. |
