Ah this is what I expected when I read on ATRL the other week about this apparently being the initial choice for first single until they changed to Cool for the Summer. I'm expecting an "anthemic ballad" type of song, along the lines of 'Fight Song' perhaps?

Reminds me of Britney or Christina, not that you can tell much at all.

According to Popjustice Forums, 'Confident' is described as this: "Think of marching instruments like drums and horns throughout the song. The chorus/hook or whatever it is is just her repeating "What's wrong with being confident?" with fingers snapping in the background and horns."

That descriptions reminds me of Shake It Off if anything, very excited anyway - apparently we should hear it in September!

SLAYMETRIA. It is quite Shake It Off, but kind of sassier/sexier than Shake It Off's fun. I'd say it's quite Little Mix Salute era more than anything? Love it on first listen, another hit surely as well wub.gif I'm not sure it will keep the haterz away who converted to fans of Cool For The Summer though!

I hope she doesn't rush release it because of the leak or anything though given that CFTS is just being released in the UK....

Wait this is actually kinda good. The horn is a biT overdone, but other than that I find it very good.
Will wait for a HQ tho as it feels like the horns drown her vocals

So I've just had my first listen and I was thinking this is sounding pretty amazing, and then that last chorus blasted in and it became absolutely sensational - what a massive song. The production is MASSIVE, I love that the first and second choruses just tease you for the absolutely massive ending. The drums, the horns, it's incredibly instant. Wow, I need to listen again and I'll be back soon with more thoughts!

This sounds great, to be honest. Between this and Cool For the Summer, I will definitely have to check this album out when it drops. I'd second the bit about the brass being too loud in parts, and honestly it flows a little awkwardly in the intro and has that "obviously synthesized" sound to it. But other than that, it's a fantastic and catchy track.
