Slovenia have confirmed the return of EMA to select their entry for 2016, following their second consecutive final appearance with Maraaya in May. Slovenia are in my favourite 3 Eurovision countries, along with Estonia and Cyprus, with their only terrible entry coming in the form of Narodnozabavni Rock. The likes of Maraaya, Tinkara, Eva, Maja and Rebeka have all been highlights in recent years! 
The Slovenians will select their Eurovision representative and song via its traditional Eurovision national selection EMA scheduled to be held next February (date to be confirmed). RTVSLO has told ESCToday that it will be revealing more information regarding EMA 2015 and its format in due course. The broadcaster is expected to publish the rules and regulations for EMA 2015 shortly.
In 2015 Maaraya won the 2015 EMA edition and flew the Slovenian flag in Vienna at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with their entry Here for you.

Apparently only Nuša and Žan are considerably known in Slovenia, so unless there's an incredibly strong song from the other 8 you'd probably bank on one of those two winning. I loved Energy, but I'm not sure I can imagine Nuša bringing something ultra up-to-date - you never know though!

I did think that was Bosnia 09 Regina but turns out it's someone who represented them in 1996. Go figure.
Slovenia are still having that weird system where the jury has complete control over who gets into the superfinal which I've always suspected as being open to foul play (and numerous reports have supported that interpretation) so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

Voting
The voting will consist of two rounds. The first round of voting will be 100% jury vote in which the three jurors will each assign 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 points to their favourite 5 songs and the top 2 entries will progress to the superfinal. The superfinal will then be decided by 100% televoting where the winner will be chosen!
Potential Winners?
There isn't much to go on besides fan discussions and this obviously leads to Nuša Derenda being a potential favourite. Žan Serčič, San Di EGO, Raiven and Sebastijan Lukovnjak all seem to be fancied by some so it may be wise to expect 2 of these five to make the superfinal.
Guest Performances
During the show, there will be performances by 2015 Slovenian Eurovision representatives Maraaya as well as Lina Kuduzović who finished a record-breaking 3rd place for Slovenia at the 2015 Junior Eurovision.

There's 3 of these songs available on Soundcloud, listening to Žan now and it's really really good! I wonder if the fact he is on second means RTV SLO aren't planning on the jury putting him through to the televote superfinal, and if so that would be a shame. From the snippets it was already one of the best songs and in full I could see it challenging for the top 10 on Stockholm, something Nuša wouldn't do even though I do like Tip Top.

This sounds pretty dated but I love the melody. Can see it becoming a favourite of mine when I hear the studio version!
Can't see it making the final though.

Studio version:
Much better in studio quality, love the country-pop sound! If only they changed the lyric "cause blue is blue and red is red" as it really irritates me.

Looks like we got Dulcima making it to Eurovision after all!
I think I can be on board with this a bit. That studio version is definitely better than the live video, they'll need to work on that.

Official preview video is here! They've cleverly dubbed the studio version over the live performance like they did with Tinkara, I'm not sure why other countries who don't have time to make music videos don't do this - I hope it starts a trend.

Very nice, hope they go for that styling in Stockholm as opposed to her EMA styling. They are bringing an acrobat on stage though so who knows what they have lined up!
