Hello music friends,

Since I haven't been able to follow the indie scene quite as intensively in the last 2-3 years due to lack of time, I wanted to share the swarm knowledge and ask whether there have been any new indie bands in the style of the following examples in recent years came onto the market (can also be completely unknown).

I like to listen to music in the style of:

Nada Surf
Beach House
Keane
Geowulf
Death Cab for Cutie
Cigarettes after sex
Thirteen Senses
Blackfield
Athlete
White Lies
Lord Huron
Other Lives
Car Park North
Dikta
Kashmire
Saybia
Evermore
Stars
The Boxer Rebellion
The National
Raised by Swans

to name just a few!

I hope I haven't discovered some pearls yet, but I hope you have smile.gif

I'm really looking forward to your answers!!

That's an interesting list. I can only suggest you try looking at the threads within this section. Most of the threads will have at least one youtube link.

And welcome to Buzzjack. Hope to see you posting more. Are there any German bands we should know about?

That’s quite a broad selection of artists! But I think I’d recommend The Lathums, a band from Wigan now who are getting reasonably big here now.

I’d recommend “The Great Escape” and “How Beautiful Life Can Be” from them

Lathums are indeed really good. They were the first band I saw after lockdown and I'm seeing them again next month.

Hi, I can see we have similar musical taste.
Good to see Thirteen Senses on the list - I'm still waiting for some new material from them.

I can recommend a few bands:
- Amber Run - calm songs, but sometimes with some guitar twist
- Colouring - now solo project of Jack Kenworthy. Piano songs with modern twist, but in the style of early Coldplay. I recommend you also his previous band - Osca ("Around the Bends" is phenomenal)
- Gang of Youths - especially their latest LP
- Half Moon Run - It took me some time to get into their music, but now I think they are just great
- Balthazar - band from Belgium creating captivating songs
- Vancouver Sleep Clinic - similar to some bands from 20 years ago
- The Howl & The Hum - melodic songs with a little bit of electronic, good debut album

Thanks for the tips. I already knew some of them, but I didn't know the band The Howl & The Hum in particular, The Lathums and Gang of Youths. They were completely unknown to me smile.gif

Go on do you have more of this tips?

I think The Howl & The Hum will be one of my record for holiday dance.gif
