First of all, WHOAH. WTF? Soooo unexpected. Seems she's finally realized how to play the game and is willing to say YES to what she's long been saying NO to, i guess!? It'll help her profile no end and of course she'll gain from it to some degree no doubt...i'd have preferred Strictly though....


But the Jungle for a woman who was too scared to go ghosthunting AND was so scared of a wasp that it was a meme for ages and she stopped singing Call The Shots,how will she ever cope in the jungle?

Nadine will benefit in the short term at the least from doing the Jungle, depending how she comes across on the show.
Maybe we will also see her on Strictly next year as she may finally have realized she needs to start boosting her career as her solo music career isn't going to go far.

I can see her being the contestant who gets chosen for many trials though.

Strictly may have been better for her but I’m A Celeb is a huge show it’s just based on personality but Nadines never struck me as being “not very nice” so I feel she’ll do well.

Cheryl Nicola and Kim May well have a whats app group it’s likely they did when Sarah done CBB too but they’re all sort of relied on shows at one point or other just Cheryl’s never done one as a contestant as she’s used to judging.

I think Nadine may struggle with the viewers due to her accent as people often say she is hard to understand.
Sarah on Big Brother was up and down but she went on to win so it wasn't all bad for her.

On a few occasions after Nadine has completed interviews i have heard of comments saying they found it hard to understand her.
The comments i read, were not in any way nasty, it was people saying she was difficult to understand.

I am fully readying myself for her to be even more of a round target for pillorying and trolling than she already was. God it's Natalie Appleton in 2004 all over again and my All Saints fanboy heart was crushed that that was what they got reduced to.

Depends, I usually vote for who I do like because they get airtime for it but I think a lot of the time it's whoever is (supposedly) entertaining at doing them, which can be either way. Like Gillian McKeith got loads because she was ridiculous doing them, but she certainly wasn't popular.

Ian, Jacqueline ( who is great) Caitlin (also great) are getting alot of screen time, Andrew and Kate too, but not on the same level.
The others, could all be referred to in the same way as Nadine based on that, so they are singling Nadine out for no reason.
When Nadine is on screen, i think she is coming across hugely, humble, friendly, warm and popular among the camp mates.

She's coming across incredibly well and the trial seems to have majorly helped her popularity amongst the others. Her odds are lengthening I believe, which is really good timing. I hope she gets more trials coz when she does them (even the Dingo Dollar ones) she really excels and manages to provide the right sort of light-hearted, fun, entertainment. Her banter with Ant & Dec is really funny!

That's an amazing turnaround after the bookies were kind of indifferent to her at the beginning! Ahead of Jacqueline is pretty major. I wonder if Nadine could be something of a dark horse and actually make it to the final? Fingers crossed!

When she was announced I was fearful that she'd be something of a Natalie Appleton type of contestant (completely petrified and unable to do anything), but she's been the opposite. I'm so pleased that she's thrown herself into the show like she has, everything she's had to do she's got on with and achieved great results. I'm proud of her getting 10 stars.

I'm really happy that the viewing public seem to have warmed to Nadine. Over the years, she hasn't really had the best public perception, which I've always felt was pretty unwarranted. Glad she's had the opportunity to show that she's lovely and far from being a difficult diva.

I've kept an eye on her Instagram followers since the show launched. She was on 148K on launch night and over the last two days has jumped up about 20K new followers to 224K right now.

Still the lowest followers out of everyone left but the reaction to her on Twitter and Facebook is overwhelmingly positive tonight.

Such a stupid annoyance but it's bothering me that there's all these social media jokes and press articles about Jac/Andy being better singers than Nadine because of the karaoke the other night. I know Nadine kinda butchered the intro to All I Want For Christmas Is You but Tweets like "it's official, Nadine Coyle can't sing" and "embarrassing when Jac and Andy are better singers than Nadine" make me roll my eyes.

As if her singing a difficult intro full of vocal runs in a karaoke segment in a jungle for 10 seconds has just wiped out her having a world class voice for the last 17 years.

Roman and Andy are doing it tonight when they've already done tons this week. Nadine had a trial on Monday and hasn't done anything since then. It should be her turn to do the trial tonight but she's probably not pushed for it or shown an interest so they've done it randomly again.

It is annoying that the producers never show her in the camp but I mean, it's also irritating that she could be doing so well and be a potential winner if she put herself forward for this sort of stuff. The reaction to her trial on Monday was fantastic and everyone was dying to see more of her. She'll probably have another invisible episode tonight and be out with Caitlyn.

EDIT - She's now gained 100K followers on Instagram since launch night.

Gutted at the result but definitely saw it coming. Frustrated with the circumstances however it was a joy watching her interview - she just oozes charisma and positivity.

When she was announced for the show I was pretty excited because I know how camp and funny she is and I couldn't imagine her doing trials or going without makeup etc and to then see her on Launch Night jump out of a helicopter with Caitlyn Jenner was the most bizarre thing to witness. She had genuine fear and overcame it and I knew she was going to be a great campmate from then. Her initial odds to win were very disheartening and she did start to blend into the background a bit but whenever she did get a little airtime she always came across so well.

There was alot of social media comments querying why Nadine was never involved in trials and I think that was probably the main reason why she got voted to do the immunity challenge (underwater padlock one) - even though Ian, James and Kate were getting tons more airtime the public definitely at that point wanted to see Nadine do something for once - and I noticed from that trial onwards that she started to pick up more and more support. Granted, there was a majority of episodes where she was basically invisible (including the last two evenings) but I'm so glad she was the only one along with Ian and Andrew to actually get a solo trial. She was hilarious and determined and got full meals for everyone, and then her odds to win halved and she eventually almost became 2nd favourite to win. There was so much love for her on social media after that trial with people commenting they never knew how much they liked her until now....and so it was very sad to see her basically get no airtime after that and watch her odds tumble from 7/1 to 40/1 within a matter of days. She never stood a chance with that airtime. I think she could have made the final with some more airtime and would have benefited majorly from that trial tonight but coming 5th, increasing over 100K followers on Instagram, changing public opinion and accomplishing a skydive is nothing to be ashamed of.

She's also provided plenty of great GIFs and while I was sad to see her journey end - mostly because I want to watch her on TV as much as possible - I couldn't help but laugh and smile at her interview with Ant and Dec.

Hopefully with a bigger fanbase she can quickly release some music while there's still a buzz around her. It obviously won't do that well but even something to go top 100 would be a step forward.

God I love her.

It's almost 12 years since Passions, Nadine's allowed to have changed her mind about reality TV participation.

Great post, shadow2009! I'm really proud of Nadine and it's a relief that the public have had a change of heart to her. I've always found her to be a lovely and funny person (and so talented) and I always found it a shame that people seemed to have a bad perception of her. I hope this leads to some good opportunities for her!

She did amazing, great to see her come 5th when she was towards the bottom of the odds to begin with. Would have loved her to get top 3 but she just didn't quite get enough air time, partly her own fault for not going for the tasks but oh well. She is so likeable and funny though and great to prove people wrong after so many years of Chimola calling her and making her out to be horrible. Hoping that this will spur on talks of a Girls Aloud reunion and hopefully they can put their differences behind them but we shall see.

It was an ITV2 documentary series that aired in March/April 2008. One episode per Girls Aloud member (bar Nadine).

Cheryl's passion was to learn to street dance, and she "auditioned" to dance in will.i.am's Heartbreaker video (this always seemed artificial to me, I'm sure her involvement in that song/video was set in stone from the beginning lol). Sarah - to play polo / Kimberley - train & audition for Les Misérables in the West End / Nicola - create her own make-up foundation for fair skinned women.

Nadine's episode was supposed to be her learning to conduct an orchestra (so random!), but she wanted to do something else and says she wasn't allowed to, so she pulled out. She explained in an interview in November 2007 why she wasn't going to take part:

While the pictures and videos of Nadine reuniting with her daughter are heartwarming and emotional, I am quite uncomfortable with the fact some media outlets haven't bothered to blur her face - especially considering how much of an effort Nadine has put in to keep her away from the public eye. Adele was considerate enough to post a picture of her reuniting with Nadine at the hotel but covered up her daughters face.

Also she's already being mobbed by fans at the hotel and being asked silly questions about the rumors Girls Aloud were voting for her to do the trials.

Ugh. I bet she misses the jungle peace and quiet already.

She's also jumped up to 303K followers on Instagram after being 148K before launch night.

This. I'm relieved that she's come out of this way more unscathed than I thought she would be. But then again she's a Derry girl and they're made of strong stuff by their very nature. From the videos I've seen online she was actually more of a team player and a man in there than some others I could mention (*cough*Ian Wright*cough*), so I'm proud of her and hopefully it allows her bigger platforms to do other stuff, even if it's not music related necessarily.

I'm delighted she's been received so warmly by the public. I wasn't aware of a bad perception of her prior to IAC but knew about the issues she had with Chimola. Hopefully her stint has shown those 3 band members that she's likeable and the suggestion of a Steps-esque reunion show/tour/album would be amazing. They ruled the 00's pop landscape so the demand would be there.

Anyone else feel Kimberley is slightly back tracking on comments she has previously made about Nadine.
I find it a little bit disappointing that Kimberley has changed her views only due to how well Nadine came across on Im a Celebrity.
Nadine and Kimberley were always the 2 members i liked the most in the group but i feel Kimberley isnt what i thought she was.

To be fair she couldn't exactly go on and bad mouth her. It was six years after her book was released anyway so obviously her feelings might have changed. She's a mother now and so is Nadine (and Cheryl) so I don't think there's that bitchiness/jealously etc that usually comes with a group of girls in their early 20's. She was very diplomatic in her interview and I thought pretty genuine but of course it could just be great media training.
