Time to finish some unfinished business!
I think if it happens it would be sensational for Kylie when we consider the reason she didnt get to perform on that stage.
For Kylie herself, i hope this does come to fruition.
Already confirmed to be female and not British so that's a good hint
sorry I just read this in the article above
It would be great for Kylie as I'm sure it's something she really wants considering the awful time she went through when she should have been on such a legendary stage.
So hope this happens - also the impact of headlining Glastonbury seem to be far reaching with acts getting a sales uplift afterwards (Dolly Parton nearly scored her first #1 album after headlining).
Ya it always brings a huge sales boost. For Kylie I think it will be very emotional for her
Highly emotional to start and then it will be a huge party.
I would think Kylie will throw everything at the performances and make it one big enjoyable party that both she, her fans and the others there will remember.
Ya if it's true she will do a show to remember and a duet will be in there too.
Looks like it maybe Madonna.
I suppose that makes sense as she's due an album out later this year.
I am disappointed for Kylie if its not her.
If they didn't ask her back during the Aphrodite era, or the X one for that matte,r they won't do it now.
She more than deserves her place on the legends stage.
Will they book Kylie and Madonna on the same bill ?
Although nothing’s confirmed I wouldn’t have thought the organisers would do this .
I personally would love it.
Oh God, I would LOVE that!
That would be great if it happened as there are many who are fans of both.
Bump following recent reports. Look like she could be doing it!
I thought this was confirmed this weekend?
Not officially.
I am disappointed now as i had thought it was a certainty.
I mean this amount of buzz seems to suggest it is all but confirmed. I'd be surprised if she wasn't doing it.
I will be truly gutted if it turns up she is not doing it.
Me too but I think it's almost certain.
I’ve never done Glastonbury before - 2019 could be the year if it turns out to be true which seems highly likely!
If Kylie releases a new Greatest Hits style of release to tie in with Glastonbury and if we assume a 1 cd set, what tracks do you think would be selected as the last Best of had a very disappointing track listing.
In the virtual queue to get my Glastonbury tickets - can’t run the risk of Kylie being the headline and not being there to see it.
I wonder when it will be confirmed.
I think they will go all out for Sigala feat Kylie to be a big hit now......
Who will appear with her?
Nick Cave ?
Robbie Williams?
Jason Donovan?
Sigala?
Bono?
Chris Martin?
Dannii?
Keith Washington?
I know but it always helps to add to her legendary status. She is friends with loads of fellow A-listers.....
just hope its not Jake Shears but probably will
In delighted for kylie herself. I do think she will wind down more and more now and this is a lovely milestone for her with a lovely meaning and full of sentiment. Not that she never does but she will go all on it for this and put an amazing show.
So pleased for her to have this conclusively confirmed, especially after the unfortunate events of 2005 prevented her from previously doing it.
i just hope she doesnt tire herself out before hand in all those other concerts
Talk about go from strength to strength though - successful ‘comeback’ album, promo slots on all the major TV shows, sell out arena tour and now summer tour and Glastonbury and potentially Brighton Pride if the rumours are to be believed.
Kylie needs a good break for all early to Mid 2019 and then prepare for this huge showcase for her.
I think the set list will be extremely interesting and also very important.
I hope a good mixture of songs across a few eras will happen.
I do think it will be a fun, emotional, joyful and proud night for Kylie.
Could also help her streaming next year.......
If that happened it would be wonderful as it has cost her with chart placings.
So excited for her! I'm fully anticipating this to be a big show
Its going to be huge for kylie. I'd love to see Chris Martin from coldplay there for a duet after coldplay's lovely tribute in 2005.
That would be lovely if it happened.
At the time, it was a very moving moment.
A positive reaction from NME here:
I would so love to be at it I really would.
I enjoy all the acts on that top line apart from Stormzy who i like to a much lesser level.
Wonderful to see Kylie there.
https://www.musicweek.com/labels/read/glastonbury-is-a-perfect-opportunity-bmg-s-alistair-norbury-on-the-kylie-hits-campaign/076614:
Wonderful to get the sales update on Golden, 150,000 is coming very soon.
This really shows the belief in the Greatest Hits as they have a plan in place similar to Golden that will help the album recover sales well outside its initial release frame.
BBC segment this morning:
That’s a great article from Music Week and BMG really is the best home for Kylie - they seem to totally get the fans want physicals and special editions and they do them well, they also have plans for all their releases long term rather than just week 1 - the fact that there is ‘a lot more to come’ makes me think they could add in some additional Glastonbury content to an updated edition of the album or give us a further album of rarities Either way super exciting to have a label that is totally behind Kylie!
BMG clearly know what Kylie fans both want and like and they are serving those needs very well.
They have an understanding of what is needed to keep Kylie in the limelight and be successful with releases and more importantly they believe in Kylie.
They def believe in kylie and so far they seem to have trust in each other. Bmg serm very excited by this release.
Looks like Jason Donovan is indeed going to be at Glastonbury tomorrow with Kylie.
Especially for you is a perfect sing a long song.
Current chart standing ahead of Glastonbury - hopefully massive jumps for all shortly!

She smashed that.
Well much better than Janet Jackson. She really got the crowd going.
I’ve loved Kylie since 88 and seeing her smashing it at Glastonbury was everything - she has cemented her place as the queen of pop in the UK.
Everything was perfect - I’ve said it a million times and it’s not most Kylie fans favourite song but ‘Kids’ was a low point, it doesn’t work without a male singer also would have loved her to bring Jason on for EFY.
The duet with Nick Cave was iconic and I LOVED the section from Shocked to The Locomotion - such fun pure pop and then she brought it down perfectly with All The Lovers.
Now she needs to finish this week with a massive selling #1 album please!
She was incredible It was touching how in awe she was of the huge crowd & finally being at Glastonbury after all these years. Well done Kylie
Aw I'm so pleased this was so well received! Can't wait to watch tonight. Yes at the Nick Cave duet! I was hoping that would happen! Were there any other duets?
Just reading all the Twitter/Insta comments and haven’t seen anything negative yet - this was exactly what Kylie needed at this point in her career to remind everyone she’s still a relevant artist and has a huge back catalogue of bops!
Just seen some photos - she looks absolutely stunning!
^^ She looked flawless throughout - several outfit changes too. When the crowd were cheering ‘Kylie, Kylie’ it was epic
She looks good not sure she’s coming across as amazing.
Maybe the second half gets better 👍🏻 I wanted Dannii to do with Kids or something with her.
CGYOOMH has the crowd going ! This is better !
Definitely got better as it went on - from ‘Shocked’ onwards I thought it was perfect.
Would have been the icing on the cake if Your Disco Needs You was performed, just so she could show off that fantastic operatic note at the end.
5 stars from the Guardian.
It only just occurred to me that she snubbed New York City.
Yeah, I'm not bothered about NYC at all, I don't care. I just would usually have expected someone to sing their new single.
Where The Wild Roses Grow currently her highest on iTunes at #198 - think there will be big movements for some of the songs performed in the next few hours.
Kylie was brilliant well done to her. Was so touching to see how emotional she got.
Oh, I wasn't aware it wasn't a single.
Where The Wild Roses Grow is the first song to appear in the top 200 on iTunes.
Good start for Wild Roses! I can see this really exploding on iTunes.
She was brilliant.
Sound a bit crap in first half
Still think Lewis may well take top spot in album charts. Depends how many preorders she sold.
Killers also going well
Miley cyrus will benefit from the bbc1 coverage too
Second half did get better.
But Miley was so much better . So much more exciting .
I'm just gonna come out and say it: not only THE set of this Glastonbury, but for me, THE best set I've ever seen in all the years I've watched the festival. I've never seen a crowd so in unison like that, so joyous and liberated, and Kylie looked and sounded incredible. The look on her face at the very start when she realised that pretty much the whole festival had descended on the Pyramid stage to watch her was so heart warming. Truly a gig to be proud of for years to come. And I'm so gonna book when she does a tour next!
^^ This basically - I felt I could gush to much as a stan but seriously agree with everything, iconic from start to finish.
She was absolutely fantastic, was watching it live and blasting it. Wish I'd seen it in the flesh. Brilliant. Hope the collection gets to number 1
Praying that people seek out the GH and get it to #1 - she so deserves it
The gift of her face when she sees the Glastonbury crowd is brilliant.
It's amazing. The camera loves her
Dua Lipa was watching going by her insta stories. Talent supports talent!
Just finished watching! She slayed.
I love this new Bowie mix of 'Slow'. The 'Bad Girls' mix of 'Locomotion' really rejuvenates the song. 'I Should Be So Lucky', 'Where the Wild Roses Grow', 'All the Lovers', 'Dancing', 'Spinning Around' - so many highlights!! Living for the security dancing away at the end!
This moment when she enters and sees the crowd tho:
Love the new thread title and total agree with the Locomotion comments - gives the song a totally new lease of life.
A look at tomorrow's newspaper front headlines: https://news.sky.com/story/mondays-national-newspaper-front-pages-11752135
Slay Kylie.
Those front pages
I need a studio recording of that version of The Locomotion!
^Same Jay! 'Bad Girls' is one of my favourite Donna Summer songs and I remember being so happy hearing that "toot too, hey, beep beep" refrain when she performed 'Locomotion' on the Golden Tour.
I still can't get over the crowd size:
Her power She fully deserved that packed out crowd - I wonder how many people were actually there
It seems Dolly Parton had the biggest crowd with an audience that exceeded 100,000. Judging by that image Kylie is surely up there, if not set a new record.
This is a snapshot of Dolly's audience:
Me and a few friends went to a bar in Soho which was showing it as it was televised, she really smashed it. I'm so proud!
An incredible performance, and reaction, from both Kylie and the crowd.
Dancing sounded SO good among all of her other hits. That No.38 peak is so criminal, one of the biggest chart injustices of the last few years, it feels like a much more well known song than that and will rightly go down as a Kylie classic in spite of that peak.
All The Lovers also sounded as euphoric and beautiful as ever, easily one of my favourite songs of this decade.
Such an incredible performance. Cannot wait till I see her at Brighton Pride now!
Kylie and Miley's performances averaged 3m (21.9% share) on BBC One between 6pm and 8pm, peaking with 4m (26.1%) towards the end of Kylie's set.
Also, Dannii tweeted her support for Kylie last night:
Absolutely living for this article about Kylie’s performance - sums it up perfectly.

Interesting article on who won Glastonbury
Wonder if we will see a few bigger gigs in sept/oct/Nov to compliment greatest hits. Even like 4 or 5 arena gigs
I def think there will be more shows coming.
Kylie’s Glastonbury set got a further 153,000 plays on the BBC iPlayer yesterday - am sure this is helping contribute to sales too as people start to catch up with it
I overheard people on the tube yesterday discussing this!
Overall she seems to have got a fantastic reception and the reaction is very positive.
This - I’ve had people talk to me about it as they know I’m a Kylie fan and it’s all been ‘I didn’t realise she was that good’, ‘When’s the next concert’ etc., - Glastonbury has totally helped people rediscover Kylie who have lapsed over the years. Such an exciting time to be a fan.
BBC Music have produced a video ‘The Best Of Glastonbury 2019 In 3 Minutes’ and it’s basically a promo video for Kylie and CGYOOMH - pretty incredible considering all the acts that performed there, Kylie definitely owned Glastonbury.
Wish all of this was on YouTube
The medley of pwl songs was the stand out for me with dancing and all the lovers next. Loco motion, spinning around and where the wild rose's grow were great too. Kids and especially for you needed a partner for the songs to really bring them out.
I really wish she'd stop performing 'Kids' and leaving the backing singers to do Robbie's parts. I mean, the entire point of the song is the sexual chemistry/tension between her and Robbie and it's just pointless if they don't at least bring out a special guest for it.
It really aggravates me actually.
I have to say I HATE ‘Kids’ and never listen to it out of choice - I appreciate it was a big hit but Kylie’s instance on always performing it when as you said it clearly doesn’t work without a male lead makes it sound really weak.
"Kids" is a song I skipped every time. It was just barely enjoyable on tour even when you really commit yourself to enjoy the performance.
Kids should be dropped I agree as so many other songs would have worked better. What do I have to do was the only rhythm of live single not performed ,let's get to it, impossible princess and kiss me once were the only albums not to have any performance as kylie Christmas couldn't be counted. Where the wild Rose's grow as such probably represented IP.
Kids is seemingly destined to be a permanent inclusion, in order to get the casuals in her audiences fired up! I guess it went down a storm in the crowd at Glastonbury, but on TV I feel it came across kind of flat.
I thought the same about kids that it looked flat with the crowd.
The music of Kylie is hardly my thing, but like with Barry Gibb in 2017, there wasn't any chance I wasn't going to go and watch her do the legends slot. It was a hell of a show, brilliantly performed and everyone in the crowd loved her, you don't realise just how many of the songs you actually know - there were only 4/5 I didn't recognise, and only the one with Nick Cave I didn't enjoy.
Everyone seemed to be loving Kids where I was standing.
Nice to hear a review from a non Kylie fan as such. As i said earlier there would be many many people there who would have forgot about some of her older songs so this was a great way to remind them of some of the old classics.
I expected WTWRG to get a bigger boost than it did but least it would have helped get it a few more sales.
Me too, i have only got around to watching some of the show this weekend and Kylie really gave it everything.
It was very different and even when it was released it surprised many people.
I believe no one expected Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds to duet with Kylie but it worked magically.
Nick Cave has such great respect for Kylie and he has played an important role in Kylie's career.
Nick has great admiration for kylie and he did help make people see kylie differently.
The duet was a pivotal time in Kylie's career as Kylie often refers to the song as one of the most important of her career.
I really thought it would have been a bigger hit but her popularity was low at the time, thankfully it did really well here in Ireland and her only hit from that time.
I wonder did it miss the top 10 by much the week it was released.
Dont know its sales either for opening week.
Does anyone know if it was ever in the Top 10 in the midweek chart when it was released?

Massive congratulations to Kylie on achieving the most watched Glastonbury.
Fair play on those ratings as its showing once again she is still a bug draw.
https://www.nme.com/news/music/kylie-minogue-glastonbury-sunday-legends-set-bbc-glastonbury-channel-broadcast-in-full-2690767: Kylie Minogue’s 2019 ‘Sunday Legends’ set to be broadcast in full on BBC’s Glastonbury channel
Was watching some of the Glastonbury performance last night - such an iconic moment in Kylie’s history.
Glad it’s getting a full re-run, nice bit of promotion! Could potentially give the GH a boost
Great to see this going out again huge moment firjylie and a great treat for fans, good promo aswell.
Good Kylie promotion that should spike some interest in Step Back in Time.
Hopefully as I'd love to see sbit back in charts even if it was just for a week as with record shops open sales will increase and it will that bit harder for albums like sbit to get back in the chart.
It could have a chance of a chart return if the repeat gets good viewing figures.
SBIT CD is still £7.99 on Amazon - could help it pick up a few sales
It all helps and I'm sure it will draw a few sales at that price.
Everything thing will add up and that price needs to stay for a while.
Hopefully their is some social media activity about the re showing of Glastonbury.
'Love at First Sight' is being uploaded to the BBC Music YouTube channel on the 28th:
Hopefully we will see some kylie downloading and streaming on the back of it.
That is the desired outcome.
Do you think Step Back In Time can do a chart return?
Some of Kylie's Glastonbury performances are being shown on BBC Two as part of Glastonbury: Tea Time Legends this Sunday (28th): https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000kjlc
Her full set is on iPlayer if anyone wants to rewatch: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p08h3788/glastonbury-kylie-minogue
I kept the recording and enjoy revisiting from time to time.
A year on, have opinions changed on any of the performances?
Anyone else watching Kylie at Glastonbury on BBC? Bringing back such memories for me!
Ps can’t believe Robbie and Jason weren’t there!?!?
Ya I was watching again and all the other shows, great memories.
Just combined the two topics together to keep everything in one place. I'll be watching the Glastonbury set in full at some point this week. Apparently the sound issues have been fixed as it was an issue with the BBC broadcast rather than the mic feed itself.
Sorry I didn't see this thread
I really enjoyed re-watching it on the TV, that Fashion remix of Slow is my favourite thing Kylie's ever done live I love it!!!
No problem!
Yeah that 'Slow' / 'Fashion' mash-up is fantastic, I feel like the vocal is something that can work on many instrumentals. Her performance of it on the Graham Norton Show is fab:
On BBC2 10pm-11.20pm good little promo for songs and album sales. Every sale counts.
It was on Saturday night on BBC2
It is also on the iPlayer as part of virtual Glastonbury 2021
