After falling short last week Calvin Harris & Sam Smith are looking likely to nab the #1 single, while lower down Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino's euro hit In My Mind should continue its ascent. New releases come from Jason Derulo/David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Willy William with Goodbye, Bring Me The Horizon's comeback single Mantra and BTS can manage their first Top 40 single with IDOL

On the album chart, Ariana Grande looks to keep the #1 spot from Mamma Mia 2. K-Pop stars BTS release new album/compilation thing Love Yourself: Answer which should become their second Top 10 record this year, while Interpol might score their fourth Top 10 with Marauder. Other new albums from Alice In Chains, Ólafur Arnalds, White Denim, Blood Orange, Lucie Silvas and more

Breakdown of the week

I was wondering how many more film soundtracks could get to number one this year, I think we could be looking at a possible 3- Mary Poppins, When A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody

I think Bohemian Rhapsody is a dead cert, though not expecting much from the other two mentioned.

Agreed. The others won't get near No.1.

Movie is out in the UK on 24th October but no listing for soundtrack on Amazon yet.

I don't know, A Star Is Born seems to be getting a lot of praise from within the industry and people who have seen it already, I wouldn't rule a number 1 out.

I'm a HUUGE Gaga fan but even I don't believe ASIB can get close to #1. That'd be amazing if it happened of course

if Joanne couldn't make it to #1, not sure this will,
but will this be credited to a Cast Recording? or just Gaga??

Im also not convinced Bohemian rhapsody is gonna count as a Cast album, I read it will have Queen original tracks too

I really wish someone would have done a mash-up album like what's used in the trailers...the same thing the Beatles did with Love.

I think the ASIB soundtrack will outsell both ARTPOP and Joanne. Hard to predict
If it’ll go to number one but I can see it selling more consistently without a big drop from week two onwards.
