okay, a day late to this, but it's been 10 years (and a day) since the first episode of Desperate Housewives aired! Really doesn't feel like that long ago at all, and I'm still recovering from the ending.
Favourite season? Favourite mystery? Favourite characters? Favourite single episode? Favourite EVERYTHING?!~ Season 6 will forever remain the absolute peak of the show for me, had me gripped from start to finish |

Unlike most I didn't think it died TOTALLY until S8. I gave up after about episode 5 and haven't gone back. It's among my all time fave shows but I cannot tarnish the legacy by watching that UTTER SHIT anymore. It's like a different show.
I mean OBV S1 was technically the best, but I definitely enjoyed S2 most because it hit the ground running and whilst there are a few issues with characterisation, it was still tight, funny and brilliant. S3 was a bit of a mess and it never really recovered. The time shift was an excellent idea and did revamp it a bit, but killing off Edie was a really stupid move. Also the way they treated Bree over the course of the show was ludicrous, she was a different character at about 6 different points, but I still love her most because she is the one I WANT TO BE (despite the string of rubbish men). Housewife rate: 11 Bree 09 Gabby 02 Lynette 04 Susan 10 Edie 06 Mary Alice not counting the others 'cos they weren't REAL housewives. |

Oh and Betty Applewhite remains amazing. MYES, MYES I CAN.
And obv good old FELICIA TILLMAN, Harriet Sansom Harris is such a great comedic actress (inhabiting what must be one of the best/most iconic recurring TV characters ever on Frasier) and she really brought it to life. They did dilute her somewhat by bringing her back, but it was better than another silly NEW character people cared even less about. |

09 Bree
11 Gaby 03 Lynette 08 Susan 07 Edie 05 Mary Alice -x- John you REALLY need to watch season 8. If you watched season 7 (which IMO is the major low point of the show - the whole Alejandro story pissed me off to no end). And the very last episode is just perfection and all. Some of the scenes I'll never forget and ones I consider some of the most heartbreaking, beautiful and sheer glorious moments on television EVER are when everyone finally found out Lynette had cancer, when Gaby and Lynette made up after the falling out they had over Lynette's pregnancy lie (idk why but the scene in the hospital where they were both sitting just really hit me), and of course when Angie blew the car up with John Barrowman inside at the end of season 6. "It's in the detonator..." Drea de Matteo was just BORN for that role. My grandma used to be a religious viewer of the show as well and I always remember when I was younger before I watched every season the scene where Bree's trying to get the ice sculpture back to the lane before it melted. She really was the comedy queen <3 |

I did CHEER when Barrowman exploded. If only life would imitate art.

Best but most shocking moment for me was this.
And pretty much anything with Bree. She was definitely my favourite character. Though Susan in the beginning had some hilarious lines/scenes. Gabby was consistent too. |

Oh yes, I definitely agree about that. The supermarket shooting was definitely one of the most chilling / dramatic episodes. Lynette REALLY stood out in that episode as well, which was often difficult for her to do given how much of a sulk and moan she always was.

I really need to get further than season 3 or something. Don't even remember where I stopped. Haven't watched it in absolute ages.

Lynette was easily the best along with Bree. Susan had her moments and I've already stated my general hatred for Gabby.

Lynette was an obnoxious, arrogant, opinionated, selfish bitch.

Ordinarily, but she did it with all the charm of a grenade shoved up your chuff. Felicity Huffman is by far the best actress, but Lynette was an inherently vile and unlikeable character. She had the most opportunity for humanity, warmth and love, yet was never anything other than cold and heartless.

Oh and while we're on the topic of how flawless Bree is/was, can we just remind ourselves of this scene please? Her at her absolute best (John you won't have seen this but WATCH IT x) |

The supermarket episode is easily the most memorable episode I think, I remember being SO hooked throughout. Other poignant moments were the final episode, Edies death and Mikes death (but I hated Mike so so much, was I the only one?!).
Susan was much much more unbearable than Lynette for me, so annoyingly smug and self involved. She was like the Carrie Bradshaw of Desperate Housewives, eugh. Gabby was always my favourite throughout, fabulous but with a heart of gold Bree was a close second, and Edie third. |

I thought that Lynette was ruined by Tom, who kept getting the power. He held her back a LOT.
Can't believe it's been 10 years! Used to love the series and always look forward to seeing it. My fave was the 1st by far and then the one with the shooting. Which one was that? Great scene! |
