Hello gays and girls and welcome to the second heat of Buzzfestivalen 2018! Following last week we have our first 2 finalists in Renaida and Benjamin Ingrosso, with the good people of Buzzjack throwing a bone to Kamferdrops and Sigrid Bernson for a second chance in a few weeks time. Let's reminds ourselves who is fighting for a place this week:

01. Samir och Viktor - Shuffla

We love a good bromance don't we? After qualifying for the final twice before through andra chanson, S&V finally managed to make it direkt till Globen last Saturday (much to the annoyance of the fans as it means the song was not able to be released immediately - something which was immensely helpful to 'Bada Nakna' becoming a #1 hit back in 2016 despite then finishing last in the final). There'll be a good chance this can make it direkt here too, it made even the coldest hearts bop.

02. Ida Redig - Allting som vi sa

Ida will have had a glimmer of hope that she could progress last Saturday despite being 'drawn' second in the running order, after John Lundvik qualified direkt in Karlstad the week previous (something which could not be replicated in the Buzzverse), however it was not to be and she found herself in a Globen or Bust with hot favourite LIAMOO. Buzzjack could well be here for her slice of indie-Scandipop however.

04. Margaret - In My Cabana

Buzzjack will be very familiar with Polish Pop Princess Margaret I. After earning two hits in Sweden with 'What You Do' and the infamous 'Cool Me Down', Margaret was accepted into Melodifestivalen with a Så Mycket Bättre version of Shakira and Rihanna's 'Can't Remember To Forget You'. She was able to make it to andra chansen in the real thing, but one suspects she might do even better here.

05. Stiko Per Larsson - Titta vi flyger

The wildcard winner never has much luck in Melodifestivalen, with the act never progressing further than 5th since it was introduced back in 2013. Stiko was no exception last weekend, although I have to say it was one of the better entries from said group of acts. Will Buzzjack offer a lifeline to Stiko?

06. Mimi Werner - Songburning

Mimi was cruelly tossed aside back in 2016 with the outstanding 'Ain't No Good'. Normally that means you can say goodbye to your career and a chance to ever come back (I mean, she did a song with Brolle which should say it all). But with Krista Siegfrids given a second chance last year, Mimi (and along with 2013 5th place alum Felicia Olsson - more on here in a few weeks) was resurrected and slotted right into a far less competitive heat she found herself back in last time (not even Anna Book heroically giving up her direkt qualification spot could help her), she was able to go the dizzying heights of andra chansen.

07. LIAMOO - Last Breath

Swedish Idol winner (yes they still do Pop Idol) and all round pretty boy LIAMOO came into Melodifestivalen 2018 as a hot favourite (although he's now slipped a bit behind Mariette and Dotter) and as expected went direkt till finalen last weekend. It's clearly a well thought out TV performance (his staging was done by Eurovision veteran Sacha Jean Baptiste) and it has its fans here on Buzzjack with many describing it as a throwback to the sound of the charts in 2010.
