Craig David's Official Top 20 biggest songs in the UK revealed
27 January 2018 | By Jack White

When sales and streams are combined, what is the garage music legend's most popular track?

He's been slicker than your average for nearly two decades, but what is Craig David's biggest hit in the UK? Fill Me In you ask...

To celebrate the release of the garage pioneer's seventh studio album The Time Is Now, we've chiselled into the Official Chart archives to find out what the ultimate Craig David tracks really are. When sales and streams are combined, what do you think Craig David's most popular track is?

Before we reveal the Top 20 in full, here's a snapshot of the Top 3.

Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)
It was the song that started it all for Craig, and Re-Rewind is his third biggest single to date. Craig's first Top 10 hit, the Number 2 smash from 1999 catapulted Craig to a mainstream audience. Let's just not talk about the adult sketch show with the same name...

Re-Rewind is Craig's biggest seller overall (and on CD single, remember those?!) with 604,000 sales. Adding in streams, it ranks as the third biggest hit of his career. While hugely popular at the time, it hasn't quite had the staying power of these next two tracks.

Fill Me In
With over 4 times the streams of Re-Rewind, Fill Me In has stood the test of time with music fans, amassing an incredible 16.2 million streams since the Official Charts Company began tracking streaming data in 2014. Hefty numbers for Craig!

Fill Me In was the first of two Official Singles Chart Number 1s for Craig in the year 2000, and quite frankly, we wouldn't have wanted the start of a new millennium to sound any other way. Since Fill Me In's release, Craig has scored another 13 UK Top 10 singles, of which you can view them all here.

7 Days
The Number 1 just had to be 7 Days didn't it? We all wish our dating lives went as smoothly as Craig's in this Number 1 single, not to mention we would love it if we suited beanies and goatees as much as Mr. David.

533,000 sales and an incredible 24 million streams puts 7 Days at the top of Craig's all-time Top 10. Now feel free to come and chill with us on Sunday. Just don't go and meet another girl on Monday and take her for a drink on Tuesday.

Elsewhere in Craig's all-time Top 20, his 2010's comeback track When The Bassline Drops is at Number 4, and is Craig's most downloaded and streamed song. Blonde collaboration Nothing Like This is at Number 5, while Heartline from Craig's new album is at Number 9. Craig's 15th Top 10 I Know You feat. Bastille is at Number 11, while Rise & Fall with Sting is at Number 17.

Craig David's Official Top 20 biggest songs:

Impressive that his comeback has completely changed that top 10!

Post "Born To Do It" the quality of his music wasn't the same.

Actually surprised that ‘When the Bassline Drops’ isn’t higher, I thought it had sold more!

Many things in that Top 20 make no sense.

It's said to be a Top 20 of sales + streaming combined...

"Heartline" or "I know you" (which are not certified Silver yet) are above in that chart of "Rendezvous", "Hot Stuff" or "One More Time". Songs that were certified Silver for more than 200k copies sold long time ago.
Even worse, "Spanish", "Hidden Agenda" or "All the Way" are not even in that Top 20 despite being Silver as well, but then songs not certified, and even the #64 peaking song "16" is there... rolleyes.gif

That Top 20 is obviously his 20 most streamed tracks. Not sales+streaming combined.

I tweeted the guy who wrote the article and he was like "I wrote the article myself and it's correct", but it obviously isn't.

Damn... Someone got a little creative with his discography page on Wikipedia, then... 'cos those I mentioned are "Silver" there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_David_discography

The source was BPI and I didn't check... I assumed they were real.

I know singles market was pretty dead in 2002-2004, but still shocking to see some of his Top 10 songs selling less than "16"...

that's how it goes now with streaming, it's easy to accumulate lots of stream-generated "sales", 16 was in the spotify top 100 for ages, so I get why it's so high

was reading the other day how Madonna has never had a million seller despite having all these huge #1s that everybody knows and are absolute classics like Frozen, Music, Like a prayer, Vogue etc
and new artists like Ed Sheeran has had already 10 songs that are million sellers already and even songs like Photograph, which peaked at #15 have done 1.5 million "sales", but then it's actually 350k from downloads and 1.2 million from streams, so...

It's a shame 'Change My Love' isn't in the Top 20, that's my favourite of his recent stuff. 'I Know You' should be in his Top 5 by this time next year I'd imagine.
