The Sanremo artists and song titles are out, have been for a while I think oops I only just saw while catching up on Eurovision stuff tonight!
Achille Lauro - Rolls Royce Anna Tatangelo - Le nostre anime di notte Arisa - Mi sento bene Boomdabash - Per un milione Daniele Silvestri - Argento vivo Einar - Parole nuove Enrico Nigiotti - Nonno Hollywood Ex-Otago - Solo una canzone Federica Carta & Shade - Senza farlo apposta Francesco Renga - Aspetto che torni Ghemon - Rosa viola Il Volo - Musica che reste Irama - La ragazza col cuore di latta Loredana Bertè - Cosa ti aspetti da me Motta - Dov'è l'Italia Mahmood - Soldi Negrita - I ragazzi stanno bene Nek - Mi farò trovare pronto Nina D'angelo & Livio Cori - Un'altra luce Paola Turci - L'ultimo ostacolo Patty Pravo ft. Briga - Un po' come la vita Simone Cristicchi - Abbi cura di me Ultimo - I tuoi particolari Zen Circus - L'amore è una dittatura Of the names I recognise, I know that Achille Lauro has a couple of bops, as do Irama and Ultimo (who won the New Artist section last year) plus Shade and Federica both do (they've collabed before, it was alright in a standard early 10s rap-sung collab brought into 2018 way). Arisa is pretty good, she won with Contravento in 2014 but Emma went to Eurovision instead (I didn't follow then so idk if she turned it down or they just chose Emma). Hopefully this is less ballad heavy than last year Il Volo can piss right off tho |

2014 is the only year when the artist and song chosen has been completely separate from Sanremo and well, that definitely worked out for them..
Il Volo luckily have three concerts already scheduled in Japan for Eurovision week so even if they do win this, they’d probably pass the Eurovision opportunity to someone else |

First show of this is live atm on rai.it or the RaiPlay app
Everyone will go to the final, so nothing exciting happening today. But if I have understood correctly some jury results will be revealed. |

I think 6 out of 7 acts so far have been wearing a leather jacket, NOT including Andrea and Matteo Bocelli who had a guest performance

This has been a ludicrously samey night, even for Sanremo standards.

Cosa ti aspetti da me would be fab if she didn't sound like she had emphysema the whole time
I quite like the Irama song, different for Italy and Eurovision in general so I'd be ok with that winning! Mi sento bene is quite nice too and I don't mind Shade/Federica but it's very disappointing compared to their other collab plus Shade's other material. Bene ma non benissimo is such a bop, something like that would have been so welcome amongst this bunch! I need some more listens and a bit more convincing on this lot of songs I think.... Perhaps the winner will jump out and grow on me like Non mi avete fatto niente did, but nothing is even on that level of this lot on my first listen, let alone the level of Il mondo prima di te |

Top 5 on the odds are Ultimo, Irama, Simone, Daniele and Il volo, looks like it'll be between those (with Il volo obv declining Eurovision due to their tour dates).
Has to be Irama for me of those, hes close to Ultimo so could do it! Ultimo's is really disappointing and the others are varying shades of nope. What on EARTH does anyone see in Abbi cura di me, he's legit just speaking........... From the actual studio version I'm quite taken by Mi sento bene, I doubt it would be a huge fave at Eurovision for me but it's really sweet! I'm under no illusions that La ragazza col cuore di latta would be a huge fave for me either but it'd be a good winner of this bunch. |

I am so in love with La ragazza col cuore di latta, just listened to the studio version. The music video is very powerful too, hits me right in the feelings. I don't really see why Ultimo is doing so well, it is good but doesn't stand out.

Revenge for 2015 come on!
I would not mind seeing someone else though, as long as they are bringing that fabulous Italian dramatics to proceedings. From a quick look, Irama looks like he'd fit that bill. |

I just checked in and they still have like 10 songs to go Then ofc the superfinal. Odds have the top 3 as Ultimo, Irama and Loredana with Simone just behind so hopefully if Irama gets to the superfinal he can do it. I feel like Ultimo could grow but with Loredana's vocals I'm less sure on that one, and there's nothing they could do for Simone in my eyes.
