· 35 · Hushkanukia // PVRIS - St. Patrick BJSC 72 · 34 · FARC // Cassian - Running (feat. Cleopold) BJSC 75 · 33 · #00274E // Delta Heavy - Ghost BJSC 80 · 32 · Ethanola // MYNGA - Back Home (Matoma Remix) BJSC 71 · 31 · π // Omar Souleyman - Enssa El Aatab BJSC 77 QUOTE Hushkanukia made an impact this year as THE new country to beat, showing themselves as a power player in the end of year rankings and also becoming the go-to pop country for Aeroche of 2015 [sorry Ramrynia / Bellamia]. This marks their highest entry on the countdown and rightfully so - their MASSIVE winner 'St. Patrick' annihilated the competition in 72 and started to show the country as a power force, and still resonates with us today. Now I know everyone loves the video for our number #33 song, but #34 is one with an absolutely beautiful video too and is one of the most underrated entries of the year I feel - FARC's gorgeous entry 'Running' I feel would've been a winning contender maybe a year or two ago, but didn't quite live up to what I thought despite still being a massive tune in Aeroche. 'Ghost' also took the competition by storm, winning the ultimate contest of the year, whilst Ethanola started it off on a happy note with the ever joyful Matoma taking MYNGA's track to a beautiful tropical beach whilst we were recovering from the cold winters. Finally... at #31... π always provide us with the most anti-BJSC of entries but none moreso than this - a TEN MINUTE Syrian banger featuring modern cult artisté Omar Souleyman putting his spin on astounding production from Modeselektor, a track which only DNQ'ed due to the country's refusal to participate in the semi-final voting protest. DAMN YOU.

· 30 · Oslol // Anna Of The North vs. The Chainsmokers - Sway BJSC 72 · 29 · D'yermak'er // Jessica 6 - Down Low (feat. Thodoris Triantafillou and CJ Jeff) BJSC 77 · 28 · Yehesi // SIROJ - Slowly (99 Souls Remix) (feat. Ayden) BJSC 76 · 27 · Ramrynia // ASTR - Activate Me BJSC 76 · 26 · Danaelanda // Mediate - What You Do BJSC 73 QUOTE This section is one for the slow burning and the infectious tracks of the year. The absolutely STUNNING remix of 'Sway', an Unknown Pleasures track from Republic Of Adonia by dance outfit Chainsmokers got seductive and captured me in its subtle charms, working its way into the Top 30 tracks of the year, but seductiveness didn't come ANY better than the next track at #29. D'yermak'er spent their year getting emotional and getting Desi but it was when they succumbed to the dancebloc that they made their biggest surprises. Their first of FOUR tracks in this EOY countdown comes from supergroup Jessica 6, spearheaded by trans dance icon Nomi Ruiz, the enchanting 'Down Low'. If any song in BJSC made me want to get nasty widdit, it was this one. Yehesi and Danaelanda also give strong showings with underrated dance tracks that had me completely hooked throughout the entire year (both have entries still to come), whilst Ramrynia score a complete personal best with a rare ASTOUNDING entry in ASTR. Good work.

All that dance near the top and "West End Kids" is NINTH?! Yes!!
Pretty strong list in general other than Cigarettes After Sex (Although this is the SECOND list one of my entries is part of and is too irrelevant for commentary the agenda against me is real) |
