Just realised this is Make Me & Slumber Party's first introduction to the singles rate!

How do we think they will they fare?

Britney's singles discography is one of the best in pop, I imagine there will be some upset fairly early on due to the vast amount of good songs!

I'm guessing 'Criminal' and 'Perfume' will rate low, hoping they can escape the bottom 5 at least.

'Baby' is my very favourite but 'Toxic' and 'Gimme More' were deserving of a 11/10 too so would be happy with wins for them too.

41 - 43

43. (40) Ooh La La [4.07]
Highest: FUTURE NOSTALGIA (10) + DionTheSats123 (09)
Lowest: Jade & Vülker (-01); blacksquare & jakewild (00); (01) + SamJudd, WinterFreeze, Lukuzz, StayatHaus & Liam.k. (02)

42. (39) Pretty Girls (feat. Iggy Azalea) [4.857]
Highest: George.keh (09.5); FUTURE NOSTALGIA & DionTheSats123 (09); Nick Jonas (08.5) + JosephStyles (08)
Lowest: StupidLove (-01); blacksquare, Jade & jakewild (00); Scene & (01) + Vülker (03)

41. (38) I Love Rock N Roll [4.875]
Highest: (09) + NickF1 & LMLou (08.5)
Lowest: jakewild (00); WinterFreeze (01.5) + George.keh & Jade (02)

---

Kicking us off by missing the top 40 we have the 3 songs that are usually bottom 3. The 'Smurfs 2' soundtrack single Ooh La La is in last place, again. The other two songs I Love Rock N Roll and Pretty Girls have switched positions. ILRNR fell in it's average since the last time, whereas PG actually grew! It went from 4.833 to an even average of 5! They're all cute for what they are tbh. Just not essential Britney tracks.

So it turns out that George.keh voted twice. So I removed his first set of votes as they were end of last year and kept the newest rate. Sorry! The averages are different for these three!

They were my bottom 3, so far so good. That said, 'Pretty Girls' is a bit of a guilty pleasure - the lyrics are pure cringe but there's something undeniably catchy about it.

Ooh La La will always be the last one laugh.gif

Pretty Girls isn't that bad guys...I actually happened to like it more since I saw Britney live in Vegas...it was a fun moment!!!

That is... absolutely the correct bottom 3, well done BuzzJack laugh.gif although I would swap 'Pretty Girls' and 'I Love Rock N Roll' around. 'Ooh La La' is awful but I understand that I'm not its target audience. I actually liked 'Pretty Girls' when it first came out but nowadays it's complete trash for me oops. 'I Love Rock N Roll' was... not a vintage cover kink.gif at least Britney redeemed herself with 'My Prerogative', she really made that one her own wub.gif

I was too late to vote but all three of those are amongst her worst for me so this has started off well.

My next one to go would probably be Make Me... but I think that will stay for a little bit yet.

Lowest: jakewild (00); Tawdry Hepburn (02) + Euphorique (03)

---

Into the top 40 we go and we have 5 tracks that aren't really strangers to the bottom 10 either (bodes well for the 3 new tracks in the rate). From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart finishes at 40, Someday (I Will Understand) takes a big tumble of 5 places down to 39, so underrated </3. Anticipating falls to #38 this time whilst Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know & Outrageous both fall 4 spaces.

I can do without FTBOMBH & DLMBTLTK so they're not big losses for me. S(IWU) is so under appreciated. Gorgeous. 'Anticipating' was always an instant highlight from her self titled 3rd album and it was given a very minor WW release after 'I Love Rock N Roll'. 'Outrageous' is a bop, but it shouldn't have been a single! Plus, we have that music video to blame for her injuring her knee! BOOOOO.

Not a single big loss tbh it all feels like they ended where they belong.

I sense Do Somethin' avoiding bottom 10 sob.gif dance.gif

Deserved last place - vile song!

Anticipating the only one i'm sad to lose atm.

Also Make Me absolutely has to slay this. It's my 11 and honestly it has been done SO DIRTY in some of the rates I saw no.gif COME ON THAT (and Slumber Party I suppose)

'Anticipating' is my favourite from that section <3 I bumped my original score of 6 up to an 8 as it's really hit me in recent times. The accompanying album is so strong. I do quite like 'Someday (I Will Understand)' too and agree that it's underrated! I screamed when I found out that the project it was from was called 'Britney and Kevin: Chaotic' though - it's such a tender and lovely song, does NOT feel like it should be associated with the word 'Chaotic' laugh.gif

'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart' + 'Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know' are both pretty dull, so no big losses there. I'm not really a fan of 'Outrageous' but I do quite like the instrumental on its own - gives me Bratz Genie Magic vibes laugh.gif
