Hopefully he means released as a 3rd single. Touch needs to be the 2nd
I've heard some people say that Touch is gonna be the 2nd single
Apparently they announced on Capital Touch was single 2. Oops is no surprise, I just hope we get NMSS/Power afterwards.
It'll be so disappointing if it's over Touch, I don't really want it as a single at all although I do like it but it's obviously going to happen at some point.
I can see oops being used to bridge the gap between Touch and either Power or No More Sad Songs (as one of them get pushed for a BGT final performance)
I prefer this to Touch oops
It's my second least favourite song on the standard edition after Down & Dirty, so if that's true it's extremely disappointing.
This to be 2nd single until they release Touch to go US.
It's nowhere near one of my favourites on the album, but this would work incredibly well as a single! It's infectious and catchy enough to get the public on board. It might be seen as a bit TOO cheesy, but that hasn't prevented Charlie from getting hits on his own!
However, I do feel it needs to be a single sooner (i.e. over winter/next single) or much later in the campaign. Coz I feel 'Touch', 'Power' and 'No More Sad Songs' could give them a Bieber sort of reinvention with the general public. Obviously nowhere near the scale of him, but these are legitimate club smashes that could tear the roof off and become club staples for a few months and if 'Oops' comes in between those, it could lose momentum for them?
Maybe this is me just reading too much into it, but that's how I feel about 'Oops'.
EDIT: Really hope this makes sense haha and NO I am NOT comparing them to Bieber!
Oops is my 4th most played song
The problem I have with 'Oops' being a single is that it'd inevitably mean that one of Power/NMSS would be paid dust (unless they do extend the campaign to 5 singles, which I suppose isn't entirely out of the question since I imagine we won't be getting album 5 till 2018). I feel they'd only be releasing it purely as an obligatory down/mid-tempo single, when it's actually one of the weaker songs on the album. I do think it'd do pretty decently, but it might also annoy a lot of people given how basic it is.
Honestly, a SOTME > Touch > NMSS > Power run would just be incredible.
Odd thing to think, but I can see it being used in a lot of adverts/commercials funnily enough which would help it should it become a single. But yeh I like it but, what Defaze said. I'm just going to think that maybe releasing 5 singles will give them time to work on an amazing 5th album.
I hope it does get released as a single. It's one of my favorite songs from Glory Days. No, it's not as flashy as others, but it's catchy as hell and showcases what Little Mix does so well.
Again no surprise it's going to be a single as it's been heavily rumoured. Personally I think it's a good choice
I'm a bit disappointed that this seems likely to be a single as it's very basic, however I'm hoping the performance on Sunday changes my mind.
Please Power and NMSS to round off the era, they better not skip over either of them as singles.
It would make a good third choice of single, it was obvious it was always going to be a single. Ideally, Little Mix will push for 5 singles from this album.
I still find it very uninteresting, and I believe anything else (except "Down & Dirty" of course) would have been a better choice.
It kind of brings me back to when The Saturdays almost released The Way You Watch Me (feat. Travie McCoy), like it will sell because it's a collab. (Even though the solo version was better).
Without being the best track, Oops has the advantage to be an album seller (and a good sequel of Touch in the US).
I don't think they're having any trouble selling albums, so they should just cancel Oops and move on to the good songs.
I've changed the title of this because it really is pretty much the reality.
It's been playlisted on Capital! loool (I wish they'd have waited tbh)
I really like 'Oops', find it my personal fave of the album so far, and really glad that it's gonna be a single. Now normally I'm not a fan of Charlie Puth, but this song is just awesome and follows 'Shout Out To My Ex' & 'Touch' perfectly. I like how this campaign is shaping up so far with 3 perfect singles, just like 'Get Weird'. Then I do agree that having 'Power' or 'No More Sad Songs' as the final singles, or in a perfect world both.
Imagine this run of singles 'Shout Out To My Ex'>'Touch'>'Oops'>'Power'>'No More Sad Songs'. Depending on how well 'Touch' & 'Oops' does in the charts (hopefully both will make top 5 or top 10), then 5 singles could may well be a possibility.
Yeah this is undoubtedly the best choice for third single! Performing really well on iTunes, they're coming for three songs in the top 40 next week too. Can't get enough of this rn
I seriously seriously despise this.
I suppose I get that the collaboration will draw extra attention, but it's a shame really.
I just don't want this as a single, might be the only single by them that I wont like that much :/ next to Little Me of course.
It's a cute song, kinda weird to think of it as a single when you compare it to all their other singles since their debut. Stuck in my head for the last few days so I guess it's growing on me.
This is definitely growing on me and for the past few days I'm been singing and humming it all of the time.
Well I absolutely love this - Perrie's voice sounds spectacular as does Charlie!
Heart FM have playlisted this and not Touch. Mess.
I'm really loving this song now, but I'd rather these singles were given support 1 at a time. I knew Heart would be all over this but I'd rather the radio would just stick to what's being pushed.
Touch and Oops are pretty much a double A side!
I do like this enough but it's not growing much, it's probably down there with How Ya Doin' as their weakest single for me.
This is climbing fast on iTunes and Spotify. It's 52 on spotify now and could enter the top 50 which worries me a little. It's just confusing and messy. I don't know why Heart and Capital couldn't just wait.
Does seem strange that this is getting so much airplay when it's not even their current single
Nah. 'Touch' will be fine now. The fact it's still rising again on iTunes and Spotify along with 'Oops' shows that the public are gonna be interested in both. I think this is quite a clever approach to capitalising on album sales outside of Christmas tbh.
'Touch' still has the video to come. It'll be fine I think, unless something gets surprise released, I think they'll get number 1 again tbh.
I don't think it's gonna harm Touch either, it's clearly doing great on it's own merit. It'll just make the transition into 3rd single a lot quicker and smoother with proven success ready and waiting.
To think though, I swear I spent what felt like about 3 weeks in despair crying waiting for Love Me Like You to finally break top 50 on Spotify and now they pretty much just casually stroll there with no issue.
It does feel like a double a-side situation, strange radio have playacted it though, it makes me wonder if the label encouraged it (as Oops is likely to be played by radio stations Touch wouldn't and vice versa). After all, why would radio stations playlist a song just because there was one performance of it on tv.
Oh, the label are definitely pushing it as it's on some playlists on Spotify that are causing it to rise there.
It was added to Hot Hits Uk yesterday , which explains the huge climb. It's probably Spotify that did that rather than the label, it can be 50/50.
I'm not really worried about it hindering Touch's power, it's already spent two weeks at 4. I'm more worried about Oops itself, I'd ideally like it to be a top 10 too, but will have a very staggered charting, by the time Radio 1 finally playlist it, it'll probably already be off the Capital/Heart playlists. A similar thing happened with XO/Drunk in Love.
I'm worried that this could end up spoiling their perfect record of Top 20s given how much it's being pushed without officially being a single. Once it's actually released (assuming it is the general public may have lost interest
TBF, we can claim this was never "officially" a single.
But it'll be fine. I'm sure the label know what they're doing with this!
With a music video I can't see it failing to reach top 20.
It's currently #29 & #86 on iTunes so could possibly enter the top 40 this week. How is it performing on streams?
I was hoping there'd be a chance they may skip this and go for something else, but I guess that more or less confirms they'll have to do it.
Any news on the video? I saw pictures in a newspaper that looked like Charlie gets dunked in gunge by the girls in the video!
I'd like to see the photos too
Must be the Mirror - I don't think Metro is being printed yet after the holidays.
I'm so confused. This era is starting to get messy...
So I was right, they did film the video with Charlie! Great news.
They'll release Touch next week (rumored) and probably won't release Oops till March or April, although I'm not sure why would they give the pics to the newspapper if they are not planning on releasing it soon?! Double videos would be messy.
Does anyone know roughly when the Voice UK Finals are? I think it'd be a great slot for Oops? Will they be finished in america by then?
Last year's final was on 9 April and this year there are gonna be 5 live shows instead of the 3 last year so at a rough guess I'd say 22 April- which is a week after the last US show on the Dangerous Woman Tour
I want at least a month between Touch's video release and Oops' video release. Although I don't like Oops I think it's a wise single choice and could transition them more so in the US by being associated with Charlie. As long as NMSS and Power get justice, all is good. I think this era is being handled well to be honest. But I think the Touch video should be released this week.soonish in order to snatch a top 3 placing.
#49 on Spotify, going top 50 always gives a good boost!
The fact this is doing so well without a proper push and from minimal support goes to show that it could be another huge hit for the girls.
It's nowhere near my Holy Quaternity of SOTME, Power, Touch and NMSS, but one of the most obvious single choices on the album.
I just hope they don't push this too soon, let Touch have it's time
With Touch's video on the verge, of don't think it matters now, this week they'll probably have 3 singles top 40!
3 singles in the Top 40 and a Number 1 album would be incredible
#40 in today's mids, so it seems like it'll just creep in and stick around for tomorrow's charts!
Apparently it charted at #41, four copies behind top 40. GRRR.
Still doing fantastic though given it's not properly getting a single push yet.
FOUR COPIES!
THAT'S AWFUL! Omg. Flops.
4 copies
Four copies- wow that's unlucky
The position this week is unlucky, but I'm sure it will continue to climb, so it won't matter much in the end.
I still maintain that with the exception of "Down & Dirty" all the songs on the standard edition of the album are better. Oh well, hopefully this arrangement we get more singles.
So apparently this has been removed from the Capital playlist now. Odd since it's on the cusp of cracking the top 40. I hope they re-add it if does become a single. Although honestly, I'm still praying that the team realise it's had its day now and release NMSS instead. I doubt 'Oops' will get a high peak even if it does get the official single treatment. It's reminding of Drake's 'Controlla' and JB's 'Company' in that regard.
I'd be so here for them to move on to NMSS instead, especially as it's a great follow up to Touch and will continue to build on that sound.
If they spare us Oops, NMSS would be great! And then Power *.*
SOTME - Touch - F.U. - No More Sad Songs would be the ideal single run to me
Charts at #41 this week. (11 sales behind)
So close again!
I can't lie I did have a slight chuckle to myself when I saw this was a non mover at 41
41 again! That's more heart-breaking than their two 11's from the last era.
It's just not meant to be
I'm pretty sure it won't be its peak.
When are we predicting them to begin pushing this? I'm guessing late March, then hopefully we can squeeze in NMSS in the Summer and Power in Autumn/Winter, then new album early 2018.... seems fair to me.
I'm thinking next album will be: lead single q3 of 2018, then album q4. There's no way they won't take a big vacay after this year.
And I hope they let Touch have it's time.
I reckon it'll be annouced in 3/4 weeks. And we'll get one more single in early summer. Then a re-release or 5th single to tie in with the UK arena tour. Then as Bruno says, a brand new single in Q3 of 2018 with Album 5 coming in Q4 2018.
That does sound realistic, a re-release in this era would make a lot of sense to bridge the gap until Album 5. What would they call the re-release? Glory Years? Haha! I'm just so eager for this era to have at least 5 singles, even if it means doing a single mix for single 5.
Glory Days: Glorified Edition. *.*
Oops is now really high on Hot Hits UK playlist. I wonder if it's just Spotify's move or is their label behind it
I can't help but feel that this being the 3rd single whilst they're out in the US is perfect. They gave it exposure on the final of XF, seemingly shot a video for it (ready to drop when 'Touch' has died down), radio have taken to it amazingly, it's a hit on streams and downloads... so it was a smart move all in all. Especially just for something to keep radio on board for when they're back over here and ready to promote single 4!
I'm feeling after Oops... Power should really be pushed in the US, I saw in that interview they just did how they all seemed deep and thought when they were talking about the feminism message in Power and about it being about the vagina etc. Thinking how brilliant it would be seeing how the country is going in regards to female rights, abortions and all that jazz. The ladies of the world are in need of this song.
....Is undeniable.
Ideally:
Oops (March/April)
Power (May time)
No More Sad Songs (July/August)
Or scrap oops completely
I feel we are all a bit harsh on Oops, I think it works great as a single and is a good and likable song, but if means no NMSS release, then I'll be mad at it.
Like Jonjo said, this really would be the perfect third single while they're in America. It's shown incredible longevity for an album track, so people clearly like it. Heck, it's certainly won me over! I find myself singing it all the time.
Now that Touch is losing traction in the UK, they should perform Oops at the Brits and release the video at the same time, let the song sell itself while they're touring with Ari, then come back with either Power or NMSS as single #4, and the other as single #5. This era DESERVES five singles.
This is the 4th best selling song of 2017 to not make the top 40, so far!
It wasn't even an official single!
