06. The Voice Within'

Avg: 8.44

Highest Rates: 11 (Jack, Jonjo, Lukuzz), 10 (Liam, Regina, Rob S, Kellyann, Aaron TM)
Lowest Rates: 2 (darkstar79)

At #6 is "The Voice Within'" the third Stripped era single to drop in a row, released in October 2003 as the album's fifth and final single. Originally Christina wanted "Impossible" as the final single which was written alongside Alicia Keys and she also played the piano, but the record company wanted a big ballad for the X-Mas market and after scoring a massive success with "Beautiful", "The Voice Within'" had all the right ingredients, an inspirational ballad which is beautiful and stunning. The song was a small success on the US Billboard charts reaching a peak of #33 becoming the album's 2nd lowest peaking single, but becoming her 11th top 40 hit. In the UK it became the album's 5th top 10 hit, reaching #9 becoming her 10th top 10 hit. Elsewhere it was also successful despite being a 5th single and the album being out for over a year, with top 5 peaks in Swiss and Ireland and further top 10 peaks in Netherlands, Austria, Australia, Hungary, Denmark, Canada and Sweden. Also top 20 positions in Germany, Norway, Belgium, New Zealand and Italy.

05. Candyman

Avg: 8.6

Highest Rates: 11 (darkstar79), 10 (Liam, Kellyann, Ultraviolence, Michael, Jark, Lukuzz, Aaron TM)
Lowest Rates: 0 (Nick F1)

At #5 is "Candyman" released in February 2007 as the album's 3rd and final official single, further releases were just in select countries. Originally planned as the 2nd, but instead became 3rd and in 2008 it recieved a Grammy nomination for Best Female Vocal Performance and also nominated for 2 awards at the MTV Music Video Awards. According to Christina herself the song was inspired by The Andrew Sister's "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and in the music video she plays tribute to them around a 1940's World War II theme, as well as paying tribute to the stars of that era Rita Hayworth, Judy Garland and Betty Grable. In the US it peaked at #25 becoming her 14th top 40 hit, but because of it missing the top 20, no more singles were released over there. In the UK it peaked at #17 and hung around the charts for 20 weeks and sold over 200,000 copies and earning a Silver disc. Elsewhere it charted highest in Australia and New Zealand at #2 earning a Platinum and Gold status in those countries and further top 10 peaks in Hungary and Canada faring better than Hurt which only reached #28 in the latter. In other countries it made top 20 in Belgium, Swiss, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and Austria.

04. Genie In A Bottle

Avg: 8.68

Highest Rates: 11 (Insomnio), 10 (Niall Minogue, Liam, Jack, Regina, Mr Aly, Rob S, kellyann, jark, gooddelta)
Lowest Rates: 6 (gavindeejay, SceneofSIXCrimes, Michael)

At #4 is the song that put Christina on the map and made her a star "Genie In A Bottle" released in June 1999 as her first official single and is still to this day her main signature song and coming out at a time where teen pop princess's were massive at the time, this song was seen as a more mature than the usual teen pop stuff and went on to help her win Best New Artist at the Grammy's. At first she wasn't too fond of the original demo version of this song, but when she actually recorded it, she became proud and it's original title was "If You Want To Be With Me" and prior to this up and coming girl group Innocence were offered this but RCA executive Ron Fair pushed this track for Christina and the rest became history and released as the first single from the debut album and topped the US charts for 5 weeks and went on to sell over 1.4 Million copies. In the UK it was just as successful hitting #1 over there as well and selling over 600,000 copies, earning a Platinum disc and it's currently her biggest selling solo single to date. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Norway and Spain, also #2 peaks in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand and Swiss, and finally top 5 peaks everywhere else.

03. Hurt

Avg: 8.7

Highest Rates: 11 (Liam, Mr Aly, Davidson, Aaron TM), 10 (Niall Minogue, Regina, Rob S, Kellyann, SceneofSIXCrimes, Insomnio, Michael, Jark, Nick F1)
Lowest Rates: -1 (darkstar79), 4 (Atonement)

At #3 is "Hurt" which is the last of the Back To Basics era single to drop out of this countdown. Written by Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry and Mark Ronson, released in September 2006 as the 2nd single from her 3rd album "Back To Basics". Originally "Candyman" was planned as the 2nd single, but again the label wanted a big ballad for the X-Mas market. The idea for the song came about Christina herself having the desire to write a song about losing someone and also describe how one deals with it. The song became another hit for her reaching #19 in the USA and selling over a Million copies. In the UK it peaked at #11 ending her run of 11 top 10 hits, but hung around the charts for 15 weeks and ended up becoming a big seller for her and re-entering the charts several times throughout the next couple of years. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Switzerland and made top 5 in Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, Belgium, France and Hungary, along with top 10 peaks in Ireland and Australia, the top 20 in Italy, Denmark, Finland and then top 40 in Canada.

I made an error earlier, I posted this as #5 at first, until I double checked the scores, so sorry everyone.

Right before I post the final results for the singles, here are the final results for the last 2 remaining albums...

02. Back To Basics

Avg: 8.675

Highest Rates: 11 (Kellyann, Davidson), 10 (Niall Minogue, Regina, Lukuzz, Aaron TM)

Lowest Rates: 7 (Rob S, SceneofSIXCrimes, vibe, Michael, Dobbo)

At the runner up spot is "Back To Basics" which means that "Stripped" has won in the albums rate. But for now let's talk about this one, released in August 2006 and took a totally unexpected change of direction for Christina, following on from the massive success of her previous albums and so there was a lot riding on this to be a success. She started recording sessions in 2005 and decided to take an old school Jazz and Blues sound and taking inspiration from her idols from the 30's and 40's such as Billie Holiday, Otis Redding, Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald. Also she decided to change her image into a more glamourous alter ego, and take these old school sounds into a more modern day twist and instead of the usual single disc, she decided upon a double disc, the first disc mixes hip hop and urban and blending old school and R&B, while the 2nd disc has a more jazzy and soul feel. When released the album gained rave reviews and became a instant success topping the charts in Australia, Austria, Canada, Dutch, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Swiss, Taiwan, UK and USA, going on to sell over 5 Million worldwide. At first it did take me a while to get into this new sound of hers, but eventually I wound up loving it, it's something different and quirky with a lot of great tracks such as on disc 1 Ain't No Other Man, Slow Down Baby, Without You and Still Dirrty, and on disc 2 Candyman, I Got Trouble, Hurt and Save Me From Myself.

01. Stripped

Avg: 9.238

Highest Rates: 11 (Niall Minogue, Liam, Jack, SceneofSIXCrimes, vibe, Ultraviolence, Hayzayy, gooddelta, Lukuzz), 10 (Kellyann, Aled, Jark, Aaron TM)

Lowest Rates: 2 (Regina)

And now we have finally our winner "Stripped" which ran away with the votes and beating the runner up by a massive 20 points and gaining a whopping 9 11's on this rate. Released in October 2002 as her 2nd album and following on from the huge success of her debut self titled album which sold 17 Million worldwide. She again took a completely new direction with her sound and image, instead of the teen pop of her first album, Christina took a more urban direction, and showed that she took more creative control and taking the alter ego XTina, as well as featuring R&B artists and drawing influences of pop, soul, metal, rock, hip hop and latin. Despite mixed reviews and quite a slow start, the album became a massive success selling over 13 Million worldwide and it's 5 singles which were perfect choices became huge hits worldwide. To date in the UK the album's her most successful selling 1.9 million copies and again had a slow start peaking at #19, but when "Beautiful" was released it climbed to #2 and became the 3rd biggest selling album of 2003, and in the USA it sold over 4 million copies and was the 10th biggest selling album of the year. Worldwide despite not reaching #1 anywhere it hit #2 in Ireland as well as UK and USA and top 5 peaks in Canada, Netherlands, Danish and New Zealand. In my opinion this is definately the best album she's ever done and ever since "Dirrty" came out, well I just fell in love with it, the other singles Beautiful is a beautiful stunning ballad and Fighter is just awesome and I remember being very happy when it was annouced as a single, Can't Hold Us Down was just plain fun and The Voice Within' is fantastic. Other tracks I enjoyed were Walk Away which again another beautiful ballad, Infatuation which was the first track I heard and loved the Latin and Spanish feel to it, Impossible, Soar and Get Mine Get Yours are also other highlights.

02. Fighter

Avg: 8.86

Highest Rates: 10 (Niall Minogue, Liam, Rob S, gavindeejay, kellyann, Davidson, Insomnio, Jonjo, Jark, Lukuzz, Aaron TM)
Lowest Rates: 5 (Nick F1)

At #2 is the fantastic and instant Stripped highlight "Fighter" released in June 2003 as the album's third single, and inspired by Guns N' Rose's "November Rain". Christina herself stated that the song was inspired by her abusive early childhood and being picked on in school because of her musical passion and however it made her smarter and stronger. In 2012 a track on her "Lotus" album "Army Of Me" was described as a sequel to this track. For the music video she took a more dark gothic image dying her hair black and the it won a Juno award for Video of the year in 2004. In the US it peaked at #20 and earned a Gold disc, but fared much better in the UK hitting #3 becoming her 8th top 10 hit. Worldwide it also reached top 5 in Canada, Ireland, Australia and Netherlands, and top 10 in Hungary, then top 20 in Belgium, Swiss, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Germany, New Zealand, Danish, Italy and Spain.

#1. Dirrty (Featuring Redman)

Avg: 9.24

Highest Rates: 11 (Niall Minogue, SceneofSIXCrimes, vibe, Aled), 10 (Jack, gavindeejay, kellyann, Davidson, Hayzayy, Michael)
Lowest Rates: 7 (gooddelta)

So that means that your winner is "Dirrty" and what a fantastic choice and also happens to be my fave also and with an overwelming responce on this rate. Released in September 2002 as the lead single from her 2nd album "Stripped" and featuring US rapper Redman, "Dirrty" was the first time she used hip hop and R&B themes to her sound and therefore sexing up her image and causing a major uproar worldwide and polarized critics and the music video also caused an uproar due to it's sexual nature and ended up being voted one of the sexiest music videos of all time. In the US the single flopped peaking at #48 (no taste), but fared a million times better in the UK becoming her 3rd #1. In other countries the reception again was much better than in the US, by topping the charts in Ireland and hitting top 5 in Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Swiss, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Canada and top 10/20 mostly everywhere else.

So there you have it the results are done and thanks to everyone whose voted in this forum.

I like "Dirty" but it's not her best song..I can't believe that it has so many 10's.."Genie in a bottle" is my favourite of hers. It's simple but it's so addictive too.I thought that I gave 10 to "The Voice Within" because it's one of my favourite ballads. What happened to me?? I'm not fan of "Candyman" though. Hurt" is one of her best perfomances!!! Very nice work!!
