The 1975 not winning
 A bit gutted for slowthai but he was the bookies' favourite and they seem to win pretty rarely so should have seen it coming. Dave still a good winner x |

That was easily my favourite of the nominations, very rare for my fave to end up winning so I'm glad to see Dave get such a deserved win!
Those who have only heard singles like Location completely miss what an incredible artist he is, his lyrics can be brilliant and album tracks like Lesley really do surprise you.

Taken a listen to the winning album, very powerful stuff, I hadn't really heard much at all out of Dave (nor any of the other Mercury nominees, something I'm planning to fix), but well worthy winner, excellent lyrics throughout, 'Lesley' in particular is a beautiful track.

I think it was a fully deserving winner. Tracks like Psycho, Black and Lesley are incredible. Fontaines D.C. and Little Simz were comfortably my two favourites from the list but Dave is great too.
