Sigala needs to be top 5 again.

I don't see Fleur East in your upcoming release schedule, coz she will get 16 tracks top 40 from her album!
Posted by: mr_pmt 4th December 2015, 12:20 AM
'Sweet Lovin' has grown on me, hoping to see that top 3.
I hope '+1' can do alright despite the cock-up of a release, not as good as 'Intoxicated' for me though.
Poor Foxes has no hope these days.

SO THIS.
Poor Avicii is going to see Broken Arrows not do too well at all All the best for +1 hoping it can beat the Flute curse of being held back for so long like Intoxicated did. Must check out the new Kygo song soon!

Walk The Moon need to be added to the list. The "Different Colors" EP has also been released

I think Sigala may end up stuck behind Justin x2 and Adele officially with their superior streams. Could well go to #1 on iTunes but let's not forget Love Yourself's second version!

Interested to see what the next Y&Y single is, could well be a re-release with 'Desire', 'Take Shelter' or 'Real' (even though it's already been a Top 40 hit I guess Desire is the most 'commercially' viable option from those). The only other track outside of those that seems probable is maybe 'Worship'

Wasn't 'Gold' initially planned to be this current single before 'Eyes Shut' was officially announced? I'd say that could be the most possible outside of a re-release.

Seems odd that after ages of being around the 30 mark to see it shoot up.
Had they performed Eyes Shut on Strictly rather than King it probably would've taken off sooner. I think they should go top 20 (at least) next week officially

Streaming should ensure loads go top 40 officially for the Xmas chart.

yep, mass streaming of Xmas songs should ensure Mariah and The Pogues go top 20 yet again, possibly even top 10 for Mariah as she seems to do far better on streams?
As Christmas day is on a Friday I can definitely see the Xmas songs doing slightly better than usual as the buildup week won't be split into 2 chart weeks [although the biggest day for streaming is Christmas Day itself, so there will be a bit of hangover through to the next week. The perfect day for Christmas to fall on would be a Thursday really.]

It will be interesting to see what songs take advantage of the New Year lull and surge upwards after Christmas. Obviously Justin Bieber and Adele will still be high but I wonder if Sigala or Grace could actually sneak a week at #1? A bit how songs like Scream & Shout, What's My Name etc did previously? I am sure there are also a few songs lingering in the latter half of the chart that could climb next year like Take Me To Church did this year.

It'll probably end up in the low 50s on Friday and drop off from there, Christmas songs are going to start hammering any momentum it picks up before long.
Kind of serves them right for leaving it so long to release it.

Sigala will be lucky to sell 60k tho. You have to release that songs first week position isn't necessarily the end of their story and any ni her of songs in the top 100 at the moment could rise like TMTC did last year so January could see Sigala, Coldplay or anything else could climb post Xmas!

That's the thing, songs with massive boosts that don't have support always fall pretty fast after a couple of days.

I know, it makes me sad that streaming (or rather its lack of streaming) is just going to kill its chances of scraping a top 40 place
I think they were hoping Radio 1 would playlist it before release but it deserves better and maybe if they add it later this month it could climb in the new year......

Coldplay normally have a bigger impact with the second single (i.e. Paradise, A Sky Full Of Stars, Viva La Vida), so hope that continues with this era, but in the meantime it's good to see them holding up well with 'Adventure Of A Lifetime.

Commercial airplay for it has rocketed over the last week. Capital moved it up to their Superhits list as they ended up doing both nights of the Ball and Heart have taken nicely to the Christmas Mix. It's a shame all this couldn't have been going on while it was higher on iTunes/Radio 1 were still playing it regularly. But at least it's been very stable, I can see it possibly staying in the top 40 until the new year .
I have no idea what kind of boost to expect from RV tonight,it's probably way too late for any kind of major boost, but didn't that help 1D go top 10 with Night Changes last year?
Posted by: Envoirment 8th December 2015, 04:22 PM
I don't think RV gives much of a boost to songs normally - but it does tend to boost album sales from what I've seen over the last few years.
