Frank Ocean) - No Church In The Wild = 210pts 38 [20] Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) = 213pts 37 [38] Alex Clare - Too Close = 214pts 36 [NE] Grimes - Oblivion = 215pts Some big casualties here already as a couple of last years semi-finalists fail to make the grade. What Doesn’t Kill You and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together takes big drops from semi-finalist to not even in auto-qualification. It seems a particularly bad year for Taylor who with 4 songs fails to get any through. We’ll Be Coming Back, Bad Girls, Niggas in Paris and Climax all drop from the Top 35 and fail to qualify for next years tournament. All seemed to really struggle to get going and it seemed people just wanted to support something different this year. Grimes is a big new entry this year and is just 9pts behind 35th place; it gained quite a lot of votes in the last 24 hours. Foals climb into the top 40 and Otto Knows climbs 8 places into the 50. We also have big climbs for Black Heart, Flaws and Domino all lower down… However whilst they climb, all songs in this section are no longer in the running for this year and also fail to automatically make it into next years Record of the Decade… Auto-Qualified 35 [28] Jessie Ware - 110%/If You're Never Gonna Move = 224pts 34 [29] Ke$ha - Die Young = 230pts 33 [34] Coldplay (feat. Rihanna) - Princess Of China = 240pts 32 [27] Nicki Minaj - Starships = 249pts 31 [25] Girls Aloud - Something New = 249pts 30 [NE] Frank Ocean - Pyramids = 254pts 29 [30] Woodkid - Run Boy Run = 259pts 28 [15] Porter Robinson - Language = 259pts 27 [21] Solange - Losing You = 260pts 26 [36] Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound = 267pts 25 [13] Little Mix - DNA = 271pts 24 [31] Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans = 271pts 26 [59] Röyksopp (feat. Susanne Sundfør) - Running to The Sea = 275pts 22 [16] Cheryl - Call My Name = 277pts 21 [85] Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven = 281pts Massive changes here, we’ve seen what stories have dropped, however we have a fair few casualties from last year’s semi final here; Call My Name, DNA and Language all struggled this year and whilst all managed to auto-qualify for next years comp, are out of the running.. A big surprise here is Locked Out of Heaven, which gained a last minutes nomination from Bre; it did exceedingly well and is just 3pts behind 20th place. However whilst it doesn't make it any further, it does make it to auto-qualify for next year, as does Running for the Sea and also Pyramids. Frank Ocean’s song didn’t even get nominated last year, however makes an impressive debut this year. Greyhound is the last newbie in this section; it failed by just 1 place last year however managed to get enough votes this year to secure its place next year. Semi-Finalists 20 [37] Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe = 284pts 19 [22] Rihanna - Where Have You Been = 309pts 18 [04] Marina & The Diamonds - Primadonna = 329pts 17 [12] P!nk - Try = 332pts 16 [14] Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen = 332pts 15 [05] Ellie Goulding - Figure 8 = 346pts 14 [53] Lana Del Rey - Ride = 349pts 13 [09] Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith) - Latch = 350pts 12 [32] Fun. (feat. Janelle Monae) - We Are Young = 354pts 11 [10] Calvin Harris (feat. Florence Welch) - Sweet Nothing = 368pts 10 [01] Loreen - Euphoria = 380pts 09 [03] Lana Del Rey - Born To Die = 393pts 08 [18] Rudimental - Feel The Love = 398pts 07 [17] Rihanna - Diamonds = 406pts 06 [08] Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks = 415pts Some massive changes here as last years 2012 winner Euphoria slips 9 places to 10; it struggled to really get going and at one stage looked set to not even make the semi-finalist section. I don't know if people were expecting it to sail through, or voters just decided on something different this year, but we have quite a big top 5 cull this year. Bg drops for Born to Die and Primadonna which both also fall out of the finalist section, Born to Die did well however the Lana song which seemed to come out of nowhere in this vote was Ride which climbs 39 places to not even in the qualification section to semi-finalist. We also see two big climbs for Call Me Maybe and We Are Young both of which climb into the semi-final zone, Call Me Maybe reversing its big drop from last year. Figure 8 takes a big drop as well and was trailing Anything Could happen for the whole vote, however the last couple of votes saw it claim the advantage. We also have climbs from Where Have You Been which reaches the semi-final section which is good news for Rhianna… bad news for Rhianna is that Diamonds was top 5 for near enough the whole vote until the last 24 hours whereupon it dropped further and further back, finishing in 7th place. Little Talks misses out on the final by 12pts this year; it was close to top 5 throughout the whole vote… so what did make it? Finalists 05 [06] Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child = 427pts 04 [11] David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium = 438pts 03 [24] Florence & The Machine - Spectrum = 458pts 02 [07] Azealia Banks - 212 = 461pts 01 [02] Gotye (feat. Kimbra) - Somebody That I Used To Know = 596pts A massive change up from last year with only 1 of last years crop managing to get a finalist slot again. Somebody That I Used to Know dominated this vote and was a lock on for the number 1 spot from the first few votes. 212 had a slow start and was top 20 for most of the vote before surging up the rankings and with the last vote climbed into the top 2. Spectrum and Titanium both gained big support early on and whilst they swapped positions towards the end, both had strong support to make it to the final; dance seemingly being on the up in this heat. Whilst Don’t You Worry Child just missed out last year, it manages to climb a space to reach the finals. Don’t You Worry Child was hovering around 8th-4th place for most of the vote, however just managed to clinch the finalist position in the end as Diamond's votes dried up. Wow, these results are so different to last year, did we have a very different voter base or has everyone's minds changed a lot in the space of one year
'Euphoria' as low as #10 is shocking! Sad at 'Figure 8' and 'Born To Die' losing their top 5 slots but at least they will still get a chance to progress and '212'/'Spectrum (Say My Name)' are acceptable replacements in the direct to final slots. We also hate to see 'Language' miss the top 20 this time but still an AQ, could be worse x 'Locked Out Of Heaven' just missing out on the semi-finals but by far my most successful nomination so far - kind of odd to see it so high considering it was as low as #85 last year and very nearly not nominated at all this time though...! |

wow that's a very great top five!! love all 4 replacements, and that's a very impressive jump for Florence(/Calvin).
great to see Greyhound actually making it this year following its 36th position, glad Language is still an AQ even if it couldn't remain a semi-finalist - I was amazed it even got there last year so not a surprise there. Call Me Maybe, Where Have You Been, We Are Young are good enough semi-final replacements, not so keen on Ride though. Born To Die losing its DtF slot and Video Games and Summertime Sadness gaining it is a very welcome swap for Lana anyhow. |

'm.A.A.d city' getting 62 points from only 3 voters is pretty impressive! WD 'Benediction' a non-mover; shame about the large 'Tidal Wave' fall and aww 'Oblivion' so close. Nicely done 'Running To The Sea' riding off the AF Idol hype (possibly).
Ouch 'Primadonna' and especially 'Figure 8' And 'Born To Die' losing its top 5 slot too, RIP to what was probably one of the best years for my faves. Wow at the shakeup with 'Euphoria', and 'Ride' so high is very surprising but welcome. |

Wow I was not expecting 'Wide Awake' to be the worst performing of my nominations! G'won 'Pyramids' and 'Ride'

In all my years running this Euphoria never failed to be a major (if peripheral of the majors) challenger and now it drops into being a semi-finalist? I expect it'll find its way to the final anyway but wow.
Good stuff for Ride, and actually not a bad performance for Beach House and the Grimes singles compared to what I expected, keep nominating those and make 2012's rather superb indie contingent a bit more powerful in the future xx |
