Omar Samuel Pasley, professionally known as OMI, is a Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter and is finally back with his second official major single, “Hulahoop“!

It comes after the massive success of his first, “Cheerleader“ which was originally released back in 2012 but in 2014, the track was remixed by German record producer and deejay Felix Jaehn and it was re-released by Sony Music and Ultra Records becoming a global smash hit and number one in Australia, Denmark, The Netherlands and Sweden.

That track then went on to be re-released once again with a remix edition of the single featuring the additional vocals of American rapper Kid Ink on July 3rd and then again also on July 31st, this time with the addition of American reggaeton singer Nicky Jam.

“Hulahoop” is set to be released on digital retailers on 28 August 2015 via Ultra Records and Sony Music. It’s also set to be impacting radio on 14 September 2015.

everything about Cheerleader's sucess says one hit wonder, I'd be surprised if this became any sort of hit. Will have to listen to it first of course but I doubt it will be half as good or make any chart impact

I'm not sure if this is a hit but very catchy and a good follow up, not too different from the Cheerleader formula but far enough away that's not a re-make. Pretty good though!

I wasn't really expecting much but this is actually a solid follow-up! I like it more than I liked 'Cheerleader' on the first listen but it remains to be seen if I'll eventually like it as much.

Im glad to see it making some impact on itunes here in the uk its almost top 50 now. And the video is yet to come out as well as some uk airplay support.

'hula hoop' is already almost top50 with virtually no airplay ~ once that kicks in another top3/5 hit looks almost certain~
