Looks as though it could be very touching, the music choice really added to the trailer too in my opinion. Jake is a brillaint actor as well so excited to see something new from him |

Wow, that's a real turn-up for Tatiana! Winning that Emmy did real things for her.
The movie looks like it will really tug at the heartstrings (which i LOVE) I'm excited for it. |

I liked this but I didn't really love it if I'm honest. I just struggled with the tone of the film and as much as really depressing films can be too much, I found this too light-hearted at times and the film couldn't really settle on what kind of tone it wanted to present. I thought this was a solid drama with very good performances in summary. Jake Gyllenhaal was great as ever and Tatiana Maslany was my favourite part of the movie, she was sfg!
Oscar chances, who knows after how badly it did at the box office. I think Jake'll get nominated but if this wasn't a weak af year in Actor I think he'd be a shock snub again. Supporting actress Miranda or Tatiana could get in if the film makes a recovery. Miranda feels like the kind of performance the Academy LOVES so I could definitely see her doing a Melissa Leo-like run and getting in and it is so annoying as I feel that Tatiana is literally ONE scene away from being a contender for the win/sure-fire nom but it just doesn't come and I'm not sure she'll get in. 8/10 |

Oops at me accidentally going to a subtitled screening, was a little distracting
I was really impressed with this though, it did a really good job of getting you to warm up to the main characters which meant you were massively invested in Jake & Tatiana's relationship once things started to become a bit more difficult to handle. The acting was very good too, I couldn't take my eyes off Jake during the scene where the doctor's re-dressed the bandages on his leg, he sold that moment really well! Miranda Richardson was really good too, I wish we got to see a little more of her actually but I do agree with Sam's Melissa Leo comparison! |

This was solid but overall I wouldn't rave over it at all, in terms of movies related to the Boston bombings I preferred "Patriots Day". I'd put it in a category with stuff like "Fences" or "Jackie" from the Oscars this year, a movie that is just about one or two standout performances but not being gripped by the plot so to speak. Jake was great though and what I was most impressed about alongside him was whatever trickery was used to make him look like an amputee. The scene Josh mentioned was very good and I'd also highlight the times when Jake was falling onto the floor from a sitting position, not nice to watch but great showcases for his acting talent.
