This is a little thing that the movies part of Reddit do and I think it's a neat idea so thought I'd give it a go here. It could be anything you saw this past week, a brand new movie fresh from the cinema, an old classic you've just watched for the first time or even your favourite movie all time which you've just completed your 30th viewing of. It could also be a fun little way to discuss what we're watching elsewhere, not just new releases at the cinema so I've included a list of all the movies I saw too.
Pixels- Really enjoyed this, I actually really like Sandler humour in general and comedy is when one of my favourite movie genres. Mix that with a big dollop of some juicy action battles and some familiar faces (or characters in this case) then what's not to love. Seems I'm in the minority of people with that view based on the reviews. The battles especially were really entertaining to watch, very well done. (I've also seen this week Bambi II, Minions, Bill, Home and Miss You Already) |

I like this idea!
24th Oct - 30th Oct: - 'BIG' - 'Forrest Gump' - 'The Martian' My favourite of them three was 'Forrest Gump'. It was the first time I'd ever seen it and although it's been one that everyone who's seen it seems to enjoy it, I usually get put off by it and it usually ends up being rather disappointing "good, but disappointing". This didn't though. It wasn't really what I expected it to be and was actually a breath of fresh air. Fantastic performances all around! |

Incredible movie and Top 3 of the year easily. I claimed it was my favourite before but decided to play it a bit safer in case I forgot something oops |

This week so far: 28th September-1st October:
I will usually do this at the end of the week but I have watched so much this week I may as well do it now! Films Seen You're Next Left Behind The Guest The Judge The Martian Everest The Maze Runner (Re-Watch) If I had to pick a favourite it would probably be The Maze Runner as I adore that film but they are all great. You're Next is one of my favourite horror movies I have watched and is so exciting, The Martian and Everest are both fantastic and interesting spectacles, The Judge was an interesting drama but lacked at times and The Guest was an exciting thriller with many great twist and turns. And I still can't make my mind up about what I think of Left Behind! |

Nice idea for a thread.
 I saw 'Boyhood' for the first time a few days ago, having meant to do so for absolutely ages (mainly because of its intriguing concept/how it was filmed). Have to say it was a little underwhelming in feeling too dragged out and uneventful towards the end, but the acting from everyone was superb throughout. I found it interesting in hindsight how Mason was such a mellow, passive character yet had a real charisma and never felt 'boring'. Also loved all the Noughties (hate this word  ) cultural references, as well as the soundtrack. As usual with me and US coming-of-age type indie films, I spent pretty much the whole time wishing I grew up in small town America and could go on road trips in my truck at 16 etc. so the movie was worth it for all the feels. <3

Ohhh and Marion was excellent in Macbeth, but she's been snubbed before (Obviously Fassbender will get a nod though) I also saw The Walk again this week. - Easy A (2010)
- Hotel Transylvania (2012) - Macbeth (2015) - Bridesmaids (2011) - San Andreas (2015) - Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) - The Help (2011) Loved Pitch Perfect 2 because it was fun and the humour hit all the right spots for me too. San Andreas just behind because it was non-stop action from about half an hour in, maybe a bit silly when things just kept getting worse like a tsunami coming but the CGI was great and it will still very enjoyable. HT was a fun little movie, the world-building was excellent so I'm excited to see the sequel now. Bridesmaids was hilarious too, a lot of the actresses like Wiig and McCarthy have great comedic timing and I love a good chick flick, definitely one of my favourite comedies I've seen in a long time. The Help was also really touching, Spencer played her role so well so I'm glad to read that she won an Oscar for it, I loved seeing a more subtle take on racism in more recent times rather than the more brash 12 Years a Slave, Bryce Dallas Howard was fantastic in too, I've not seen her anything but Jurassic World so was shocked at how good she can be. Easy A was alright but for a comedy it wasn't really that funny, the plot was fairly interesting though and I liked Emma Stone in it. Macbeth was good too but more artistic than enjoyable for me. |

The Intern (2015)
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) Just Go With It (2011) The Walk (2015) 50/50 (2011) The Martian (2015) American Sniper (2014) Mad Max was just thrilling from start to finish, so much fun to watch and it looked amazing. The Intern was brightly shot and a lot of fun, made me go home smiling. Just Go With It was great but I'm a sucker for Adam Sandler comedy and I like Aniston too, she has a really good comedic presence. The Walk was shockingly entertaining, wish I'd seen it in 3D though. Watched 50/50 hoping for a comedy and just ended up being really sad, it's a good quality drama though. The Martian was an excellent story, shame it wasn't 10 minutes shorter, the whole cast were fab too. American Sniper was also a bit overlong but still very thrilling, especially in the scenes were had to shoot the children. Another great week of movie watching, yay. |

Past 7 days I've seen
*Suffragette *The Martian *The Lobster Double Ben Whishaw  Really come to appreciate how attractive he is.I've rated The Lobster the highest out of the three but I wouldn't choose to watch any again. The Lobster (Colin Farrell has 45 days to find a partner or he faces being turned into an animal) starts off strong, the first half is very funny in places in a dark way and I love the unusual concept but it did struggle to hold my interest in the final 30 minutes or so and the ending, although quite fitting / satisfying, felt a bit abrupt (same as I'd say for Suffragette). |

- Jupiter Ascending (2015)
- Tomorrowland (2015) - The Iron Lady (2011) - Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015) - Sicario (2015) - Suffragette (2015) First two were your usual fun but mad sci-fi movies, shame neither were bigger. Don't know much about Thatcher but the movie was very good at giving her a backstory and humanising her, really felt for her when she was envisioning her husband. Paul Blart was a bit of a mess but had a funny moment or two. Sicario was excellent - very tense. And Suffragette is just an excellent tale, can't imagine how brave these women were really, |

Into the Woods (2014)
Pan (2015) Alice in Wonderland (2010) Knocked Up (2007) Into the Woods was a lot of fun, the sings were so catchy, the first half was so much stronger up to the part when you think it's going to end but then the whole giant thing happens, I guess it works better in the stage show where there is a half-time break. Pan wasn't too bad at all, was worried at first but the visuals were spectacular and the story was interesting enough, a few cringe bits like Nirvana though Not seen this version of AIW before and now sow excited for the sequel next year, it was madness from start to finish but the cast were excellent especially, I loved the Red Queen. Knocked Up was way funnier than I expected, all of the leads had great comedic talent, I liked Paul Rudd the best though.

The Night Of The Generals
Beasts Of No Nation Cloverfield Scream The Cabin In The Woods Silent Hill: Revelation The Night Of The Generals was quite good, started boring but once it got going it was really interesting! On the other hand Beasts Of No Nation started stunning with a fantastic first 30 minutes but it got a bit boring and nothing new as the movie went on  I had a horror night with my friends this morning for Halloween (so I've basically had no sleep and I'm so tired!) so we watched the 4 horror movies on that list! Cloverfield was really entertaining but the ending nearly ruined it all, what a random and sudden ending! I finally saw Scream and what a fantastic scary movie, so fun and amazing The Cabin In The Woods was quite good and I was shocked at the plot as when I went into it I thought it would just be 5 kids stalked in a cabin and not a situation similar to like the hunger games where they are being watched. It was a bit mediocre at times! Silent Hill 2 was awful and we switched it off half way through, not scary and incredibly boring.
