Why are rehashes of dance songs..., ...we never need to hear again becoming a thing? |

It's not only dance though, for instance the Fifth Harmony song large swathes of Buzzjack are currently fawning over is the umpteenth to cover/sample/rehash Club Nouveau's 'Why You Treat Me So Bad'...
Luniz ~ I Got 5 On It (#3, 1996) Puff Daddy ~ Satisfy You (#8, 2000) Jennifer Lopez ~ I'm Gonna Be Alright (#3, 2002) Ashanti ~ Only U (#2, 2005) Fifth Harmony ~ Worth It (2015) plus tracks from Snoop Dogg, Meek Mill, and Yo Gotti in recent years~ |

Sampling songs is perfectly fine. When you get an umpteenth cover of the same song looking to be a hit, it's extremely tiring to see.

I LOVE the Felix Jaehn version of Ain't Noody, but as a rule I'm very very bored of this trend too. But then in general I'm quite bored of so much dance in the chart - a lot of the songs I do love don't do so well. I do love a bit of tropical house but Cheerleader is one of the worst "songs" I've ever heard to be honest, for example... Ain't Nobody will be huge though, which will be nice. Cheerleader surely isn't tropical house. If it is then it seems very watered down. |

When has sampling/remixing/re-making other songs not been synonymous with dance music? This pretty much. It's always happened, and hopefully always will. I know sometimes the re-makes/remixes are poor if they sound too similar to the original, or if they take a good song and make it into something generic, but in a lot (maybe most) cases they do something creative and make it into something different. |
