Well what a disappointment. I was expecting a big clearout today but all we get is just ONE song moving up to the A-list and a small handful of new additions. And of course the obligatory Drake B-list add.

The whole playlist has a very stale feel to it at the moment, with so many long runners on all three lists that need to go. Why not add some fresh new music in place of those? I mean, is there really any need to keep J-Hus on the playlist for 12 weeks?? RAYE, Derulo and Tom Walker (as much as I love that) all need to go too.

I've given up hope of them playlisting Anne-Marie now, which makes me worried for the next single. I always felt she had such potential after Alarm, Rockabye and Ciao Adios but the label seem to have made a complete mess of her album campaign since then.

Also, a bit random of them to playlist Fall Out Boy's fourth single from the album after ignoring the first three!

Taylor Swift - Gorgeous [C-B-B-A-A-A-A-A-A]

FYI Gorgoeus is off the A list and End Game is a new addition.

I have no idea what Taylor has done to get such instantaneous support for her series of flop singles? The single hasn’t done very well, so I thought they’d at least start her from the C list (with like at least a week gap between songs) She must be playing Radio 1’s big weekend...

Thanks, just edited, they must have just changed it because it wasn't showing this morning. Yeah, straight to A-list is definitely a bit over the top.

Its been very easy to avoid Taylor Swift this era, which tells me the album hasn't been that successful (relatively of course).

Good to see Drake straight up there and Family Feud get an add. I agree the playlist is starting to look a little stale but there are so many good songs on there right now!

Yeah that will have helped too. In fact the last three songs that went straight to A-list all had Ed on them...

With J Hus, RAYE, Jason Derulo and Tom Walker all reaching new peaks last week or the week before, I think it's relevant to keep them on... perhaps Christmas is to blame.

I don't think 'Then' is an official single which is why Anne-Marie isn't being playlised

Not surprised that "End Game" is on the playlist.
Also, thank god, that "Young & Menace" wasn't playlisted as Fall Out Boy's next single, but "Hold Me Tight Or Don't".

What the hell at Taylor Swift straight to A??? I'm no fan of Drake, but I think he should of been A Listed with Taylor straight to C. They must be trying to pull all the strings to get her to the Big Weekend this year!

Paramore stalling on the C List is worrying for their future singles getting Radio 1 support.

I’m not sure why Paramore are stalling with Fake Happy, 6 weeks on the C list. As much as I adore the song, that long on the C list means practically nothing and needs to go. Same can be said for whatever that Fekky song is

Taylor could’ve had such a brilliantly successful era with the 4 singles all being really great, but the whole release of it all and just been an absolute joke. She should’ve waited longer after Look to release Ready (With full promo, radio & Spotify) and then released the album a month later than she did. End Game would’ve obviously been the most successful in streams (as it was) so should’ve been the third single & got the full support she is now getting which would’ve given her another hit. Then Gorgeous in like Feb/March... to give it an actual chance. End Game on A list, yet I’m pretty sure it’s just been removed from Hot Hits...

In fairness to R1 with the Fall Out Boy fiasco, Hold Me Tight or Don’t is the first radio friendly single they’ve really released. Young and Menace / The Last of the Real Ones would’ve have fit on Radio 1, also a bit similar for Champion but less so. Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) is somewhat radio friendly too (less than Hold) so maybe that’ll get a push in the UK in a couple of months time

Safe to say the Radio 1 Playlist isn’t look too great right now, as others have said tongue.gif

Mess at Taylor being taken off Spotify Hot Hits playlist the week she gets added to Radio 1 A List.

I think that's been one of the big hindrances to this era, her record label not being very strategic with buying (or re-buying) a Hot Hits place on Spotify at the optimum time.

I suppose maybe it'd be a good idea next time not to release the songs they're planning to release as the second + third singles as "promo singles". It's like they couldn't quite recover after they fell away (and also for some reason didn't buy a re-add to Spotify playlists?)

I think swifty's label started very well with LWMMD but after that
they totally improvised with Ready For It and Gorgeous

But unlike the previous ones, End Game is great but yes they really need to have it re-added

So sad for the lack of support for Lily Allen. "Trigger bang" is such a great song, it doesn't derserve to flop.

When was the last song that spent 6 weeks in the C List?

Happy to see FOB make he playlist for this album, thought radio 1 had finished with them. Slow moving but shocking playlist week for me!!
