Y’all don’t realize that saying you think the song will be vetoed will just make the Veto Police think there’s a reason it should be vetoed

I propose a rule change where double or triple confirmations results in those countries being merged into one for the contest and the countries don't find out until seeing the list of final entries

I'm tempted to go for something from one of my favourite dance acts of the early 90s... a stand alone single that I had no idea even existed until this past month. It's trashy and apparently the band themselves are embarrassed by it but I'm finding myself loving it

I've decided to send something indie that I think might have decent appeal and transcend beyond the lower third of the final and get a decent finish, however I thought this three months ago and went and finished 26th in the semi!

Also, I have a veto framework question.
Would a song be auto-veto if was essentially a remix of a previous entry, even though classed as a separate release with a completely new title? I couldn't quite work out whether it would class as a song that has previously been sent or if considered to be 'sample' and therefore "12 \\ Song contains a major sample of a former BJSC entry". Would it count against the attempted sender if they had sent the original too? This post has been edited by RabbitFurCoat: 19th October 2020, 05:40 PM |

Would it count against the attempted sender if they had sent the original too? Straight remixes of songs that were already sent are counted as being a repeat of the previous entry. If I'm understanding what you're asking correctly, a new song that's basically a remake of a previous song but by a different artist would be counted as a sample/cover, it being vetoed or not would (at least partly) depend on how similar it is to the original. Aside, the song you sent is one I've sent to the PopJustice song contest and is one of my more successful entries there so I think/hope it would indeed do decently here as well! Is it mine? It is not x |

Confirmed a dance-y indie track from 2012. Sounds like something that *could* do well but could also suffer from being in the wrong semi (or just suffer full stop), if it were released now it would be a contender for song of the year though!

I have sent something that will likely not be vetoed x (although apparently the artist was involved in a big hit that I'd never heard of four years ago, but there doesn't seem to be any interest in their solo material).
