New music apparently coming next week and it could be a Christmas track!

Posted by: Bjork Nov 6 2019, 03:47 PM

was wondering if she'd release something soon, she seem so prolific a year ago always releasing random tracks here and there

it's a pity nothing from the album caught people's attention after Bad guy, the album had many other potential great singles

Posted by: SLlewellyn Nov 6 2019, 07:59 PM

I thought “My Strange Addiction” would’ve worked well as the next single, but they went for “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” oddly. In any case, excited to hear what she delivers!

Posted by: Bjork Nov 6 2019, 08:02 PM

Imho they should have pushed I Love You, amazing incredible ballad, 1000% different from Bad guy, everybody seems to love it,
only needed to be pushed...

All the Good girls was just ok but wasn't really really pushed... on HH it was like track #70 for 2 months without moving up

Posted by: lewistgreen Nov 6 2019, 08:23 PM

There’s nothing to say that they’ve ended this era already. Especially if it is a Xmas song being released then there’s no reason why we can’t have another single from the album.

Keeping everything crossed that she'll release 'My Strange Addiction'!

Posted by: LMLou Nov 6 2019, 09:06 PM

I feel like atgggth did get quite a good push. It was about half way up Hot Hits UK for a little and didn't it make the A-List on Radio 1? I'm surprised it didn't preform better considering that and the fact it was the single after one fo the biggest hits of the year

Posted by: Steve201 Nov 6 2019, 10:55 PM

Hope it is a Christmas song, could do well as I'm sure new material after this successful year will be highly anticipated!

Posted by: Bré Nov 7 2019, 01:42 AM

I've read that there's apparently a music video coming for 'xanny' as well.

'all the good girls go to hell' seemed to be showing positive signs of blowing up when the music video was released but then it just kind of fizzled out really quickly, not sure why. It's pretty rare these days for post-album singles to get big in general though so I wouldn't say that's really indicative of anything about her specifically.

Posted by: Dircadirca Nov 7 2019, 04:04 AM

I reckon her album will be one of those select handful where pretty much every track goes gold (or maybe even platinum) in the US so it'll split the difference even if no more of the tracks have their implicit time in the sun. 11 tracks already have 100 million plays on Spotify and "8" is pretty close as well.

Posted by: Juan Carlos Nov 10 2019, 10:06 PM

It's called "Everything I Wanted" (the title is stylised in lower case) and it will be out on 13/11 at 4pm. PST / 7pm. EST / midnight GMT (14/11).

Posted by: Bjork Nov 10 2019, 10:16 PM

cannot wait

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Nov 10 2019, 10:27 PM

I wonder if it is a Christmas track like the rumours suggested? The title sounds like it could be

Posted by: Steve201 Nov 10 2019, 11:33 PM

Yeh title suggests it is. Hope it establishes itself before the classics take over the chart in December!

Love this her voice is sounds gorgeous on this as this the production .

Posted by: Steve201 Nov 14 2019, 12:20 AM

That's a brillant new track, pity it's not an Xmas song!

Posted by: JüpaHulaHula Nov 14 2019, 03:32 AM

Trip hop vibes! I like it tho its a bit slow/quiet for my taste of what I usually pick up

Posted by: Medellíam Nov 14 2019, 04:03 AM

I love this! It's so different to what I've heard from her before. That piano is gorgeous, it's like a song from someone like London Grammar. Her vocal is great too - that was usually something that put me off her ballads (see When the Party's Over) but it's so delicate and emotive here.

Posted by: Bjork Nov 14 2019, 08:36 AM

nice on 1st listen
I always prefer her mid-tempo songs like this one

Posted by: mdh Nov 14 2019, 05:16 PM

This is great. She's really coming along as an artist. Give it 18 months and she'll be on FKA twigs' level of artsy lol

Hang on — don't get too crazy.

But yes, this is wonderful.

Except her label would never let her be that "artsy" aka non commercial in a million years.

Fabulous production. I'm loving it a lot and will love it more in headphones I'm sure!

Love this!

Gorgeous wub.gif heart.gif I wasn't a big fan of the slower songs on the album, but this gets it right.

Posted by: Cqmerqn Nov 14 2019, 10:05 PM

Anyone hearing a subtle ‘Euphoria’ by Loreen in the background? laugh.gif

Posted by: Defaze Nov 14 2019, 10:09 PM

At the risk of sounding approx 10000 years old, it took me so long to 'get' her. I was only really a fan of 'Ocean Eyes' and 'Bellyache' from her previous singles, but this has got me fully on board. Just a gorgeous song; melody, lyrics, vocals -- everything! Here for this smashing over the Winter period.

I'd still say 'when the party's over' and 'bury a friend' were pretty uncommercial songs tbh (maybe not so much 'bad guy' though). Definitely compared to everything else in the charts at least. But I wouldn't place most of FKA twigs' singles as being radically more out there than those songs.

Posted by: Medellíam Nov 15 2019, 05:10 AM

I've just been reading up on the lyrics and what a moving, poignant song this is. One half is Billie's meditation of fame through the guise of a dream in which she's drowning and no-one cares to help, then the other half highlights an unbreakable sibling bond, a reminder of what is important in the quest for fame. It's a powerful song to hear from a 17-year-old - firstly, to hear their struggle with fame and their recount of committing suicide in a dream and, secondly, to hear them recognise the special bond between siblings, something I don't think most people truly value at such an age.

I think this could easily soon become my favourite from Billie out of the few tracks I have heard.

Posted by: hlavkus Nov 15 2019, 07:38 AM

Does this sample "Come With Me" by Nora en Pure?

Posted by: Bjork Nov 15 2019, 08:03 AM

don't think so, the song credits are just Billie + her brother

I don't find the song as instant as everybody seems to, heard it 5 times and cannot recall how it goes, hope it grows

Posted by: Bjork Nov 15 2019, 07:11 PM

straight at #1 in US Spotify and #3 in the UK
could it go to #1??

Posted by: Riser Nov 19 2019, 05:33 AM

This is stunning, already liking it more than everything else she's released in the past 2 years wub.gif

Can confirm this - I first heard this on Radio 1 on the First Look chart and I thought it sounded pretty good but hearing it again with headphones just now it's sounding 10 times better, really gorgeous and captivating song. heart.gif

I can definitely see this becoming one of my favourite songs from her with a few more listens (I think 'when the party's over' is still my favourite at the moment closely followed by 'you should see me in a crown' and 'WHEN I WAS OLDER').

This is LUSH, she's such an incredible artist wub.gif

Posted by: danG Nov 20 2019, 04:53 PM

beautiful song! it’s in her top three already i think.

Posted by: Burns Nov 25 2019, 07:00 AM

This is great, up there with her best ("When The Party's Over", "Bury A Friend"). "Bad Guy" never massively did it on those levels for me.
