We really should have started one of these months ago. After all, she has proved to be at least as gaffe-prone as her opposite number Dianne Abbott. The big difference is that Rudderless is a minister so her gaffes matter rather more.
Let's start with a few of her greatest hits. After the terrorist attacks lsat year she insisted that the police "need to know the necessary hashtags". The ridicule she received for that comment might have led her to make sure she knew what she was talking about before she pontificated on the subject again. Alas not. It wasn't long before she was floating the idea of banning encryption - a policy that would kill off e-commerce at a stoke. TS Eliot wrote that April is the cruellest month. Rudderless seems to be determined to prove that this month. Perhaps May will prove to be the cruellest boss by sacking Rudd. In the meantime, this is how April is going so far. Rudd has been dropped in the mire by her immediate predecessor at the Home Office, one T May. Earlier in the week Rudderless insisted there were no targets for deportations. Today she has admitted that these targets do exist after all. This, of course, comes after she admitted that she hadn't recognised the scale of the Windrush problem. Why not? Didn't she consider asking Home Office officials for more details? Her ineot handling of the Windrush shambles has, of course, resurrected the issue of people from other EU countries living here if we leave the EU. Rudd insists that there is no problem because there will be an app. This app will apparently be "as simple to use as registering an account with LK Bennett". Who? Just in case you are not familiar with LK Bennett, they make posh frocks. A normal person might have mentioned an account with Tesco, but not Rudderless. Of course, as a side issue, if a Labour spokesperson had mentioned, say, Asda instead of Tesco, they would be accused of anti-Semitism. Anyway, it turns out that it own't be so simple after all because a key function doesn't work on an iPhone. Never mind, our Amber has that covered. She has suggested that people can just borrow a friend's phone. Isn't that what we all do when we want to send sensitive information? Maybe they should just stick that information on a postcard and pop it in the post. |

Her home office also denied a British Citizen a passport because his Birth Certificate was issued by a British Consulate in Germany as he was born while his parents were in the RAF and stationed there. The Home Office decided that the British birth certificate with a British RAF base as the place of birth was insufficient proof of British citizenship.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-43891723 I’m f***ed. My birth certificate was issued by the RAF, it didn’t even come from a consulate and it certainly wasn’t registered with the Germans on advice of the UK Government that it’d make me liable to German National Service. May and Rudd need to resign as PM and Minister and then as MPs with immediate effect. Neither have the competence to blow up a f***ing balloon unsupervised |

She's a moron. The quality of senior Tory ministers is lower than it has ever been, as is their capacity to have principles and honesty. Worst shambles ever.
May in particular just bends with public opinion, the papers say chuck everyone out the country, she does it without a thought of the consequences, and Rudd is so stupid she does as she's told by people who understand what's going on. Gutless, unprincipled buffoons by and large. |

Her majority in Hastings and Rye was knocked down to 346 last June.
I agree that she is pretty hopeless but I don't think her position is helped by the fact that the Home Office is itself in a complete mess at the moment... and who was running it for the 6 years prior to Rudd. Oh yes, our wonderful strong and stable prime minister!! |

At least this will put on hold her chances of becoming PM which she was clearly desperate to become!

The woman is genuinely thick as pig shit, this blunder with immigration targets illustrates exactly what I mean when I always say this.

The Guardian yesterday uncovered a memo about the deportation target sent to Rudderless last year. Her response? “I did not see that memo. “ she is now believed to be applying for the managerial vacancy at Arsenal.

She only held her seat by a few hundred votes last year. Do you think she's now wishing she had lost?

I wonder if she will have the guts to point the finger at the person responsible for creating the mess in the first place.

Not surprising.
She was one of May's few allies left in cabinet. It would not surprise me if she's gone within the week. |
