Discussion in the AF Idol thread the other day revealed HORRIFYING opinions about this song. I always assumed it was well regarded by Gaga fans, but apparently some of you are not keen on it at all?
So, simply vote in the poll and reveal your vote below.
Let's see who is getting banned from the Gaga forum
It's not a hugely innovative track, nor does it reinvent the wheel. But it's a different style for her and was a beautiful surprise after Coachella.
It's a huge YES from me xo
Voted YES. I hadn't heard it in a long time before giving the AF Idol playlist a spin (unfortunately it didn't make my votes though, don't ban me Bal ), but it was such a pleasant surprise. A lot better than I remember.
I said a few weeks ago that this properly hit me and it’s still sounding great now.
At the time of release I wasn’t that keen as I thought it was a regression from Joanne era Gaga but i think that the current situation made me appreciate the lyrics a lot more.
I just find it so generic and lifeless. It's not a BAD song as such but it just sounds like watered-down, Spotify filler that just plays unnoticed. I don't think I'd have given it a second chance if it wasn't a Gaga track.
Sorry.
Loved it at the time, not as much now but still like it a lot.
I feel had it got a music video it’d be more fondly remembered.
^ that is very true! The lack of visuals definitely impacts the song - when a single has a video it definitely helps see it in a different way.
I don't often return to it but it's a great pop song
I voted YES, because I do like it but it's not one I go back to! I absolutely stretched the life out of it when it came out and I don't think its recovered:')
"Like"? No.
I LOVE The Cure *.* I never had a Spotify account until The Cure was surprise-released and I wanted to play it on repeat, good memories
yes, love it.
One of my favourite Gaga songs - & shows she can effortlessly do modern, on-trend pop if she feels like it.
nope, don't like it, too generic and trend-chasing
Never been a huge fan but “Friday I’m In Love” is a classic
but no I don’t like it, it was nice for her to get a proper hit after Joanne but i definitely didn’t help it’s chart success
What's not to like? It's dedicated to her friend who lost the battle with cancer and she sings it beautifully!
I mean it's not groundbreakingly innovative but very good.
Keep showing the love ya'll!
definitely - it's my 7th most played track of hers, 45 plays which beats all the Joanne era combined.
I do like this but it's pretty inessential in amongst Gaga's discography!
I think it's pretty good! Though I do prefer Robert Smith's The Cure
I do like it! It's certainly not top standard Gaga but I remember it compared to the rest of the UK chart at the time and it was definitely a step-up from its competition. As a standalone single I enjoy it for what it is! It shows that Gaga can do that type of music but chooses to do something else with her music!
The Prevention is better
I like it but it doesn't have enough about it for me to put it among her best. It will definitely be a pointless answer on Pointless in years to come if someone had Lady Gaga singles as a final category.
Those results
I like it as a song, it's really cute. It's just the production on it is so basic and paper-thin, and like someone pointed out it sounds like Spotify filler that was so typical of that time - that's not helped it age very well.
i love it! it’s in my top 10 gaga songs
This was among her most streamed only a few years ago but I guess the popularity has pretty much since then? Maybe it needed a video to stay in people's minds.
Never rlly got the point in it. I love the song but it felt like a label moment more than a Gaga moment
I forget about this from time to time, but whenever I hear it I really like it.
I love it. It's actually my most played Gaga song on last.fm.
I still absolutely adore this! I don't listen to it as much because it doesn't feature on one of her albums but it's always an absolute GEM when I play it.
