We've reached the final of the Madonna vs. Kylie survivor, although it would seem we already have a winner - Kylie.
It's a bit odd to be presenting a Kylie vs. Kylie match-off in the Madonna AF but please do post what the votes would like if you had your way.
I know Vibe will be pretty pissed that there's no Madonna left in this game so I've started the eagerly awaited http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178614.

It's got to be, Got To Be Certain. Pure 80's pure pop JOY. Lucky is of course amazing, but Got To Be Certain just feels that little bit more care free and fun.
My vote to win goes to 'I Should Be So Lucky'. The verses really gear up the song for me and the song as a whole is 3 and a half minutes of 80s pop fun.
As for what my results would look like, I'd boost 'I Know It' and 'The Locomotion' up to the Top 10 and 'Burning Up' and 'Turn It Into Love' into the Top 5, but tbh that's not a bad set of results anyway. Neither are either acts' best but Kylie holds some nice pop moments and Madonna is a strong enough start for her career.
Got To Be Certain
It's not what I would have chosen as the winner from everything here, but it's one of the early Kylie singles I have a big soft spot for.
Got To Be Certain.
Got To Be Certain
What an absolute JOY the next survivor will be; two albums full of ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE SHITE.
Like A Virgin is largely GREAT!! It's just the Kylie ''effort'' that might as well be forgotten.
Borderline is better than either of these. Darn me forgetting to vote.
I Should Be So Lucky to win
Well, I will grant that the production is definitely on the tinnier end of the 80's (it really does need a remaster) but forgettable is entirely a matter of personal opinion. I think the majority is very strong pop, yeah it's not up to much lyrically but early Madonna (pre- True Blue) was pretty much all lyrically hollow, it doesn't mean it can't still be great. Over and Over, Stay, Pretender, Love Don't Live Here Anymore and of course all the singles are brilliant. The only weak link really is Shoo-Be-Doo, which is the only true lyrical turkey on the album.
I should be so lucky.
Lucky ftw.
Been a close round all week, but, with a winning margin of 2 votes, 'I Should Be So Lucky' takes the win! 10 votes for 'Lucky'; 8 for 'Certain'.
That was my winner from the start so I'm very happy it won. Would have preferred 'Holiday' or 'Borderline' in the Top 2 - 'Got to Be Certain' isn't Top 5-worthy for me.
Next set of survivors, #2 battles, is up http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178911&pid=5096099&st=0&#entry5096099
