(That's all the new entries in the top 200)
just given the topic a subtitle x
Lol at how uneventful this week is turning out to be though.
Cheap Thrills up to 3. Could this be a future no 1?
Sia is still #4 though, Lukas Graham edging it to #2 with two versions.
Really hoping 'Cheap Thrills' will bring Sia her first top-5 as a lead artist!
Cheap Thrills is #3 on my iTunes!
Really hope that or work from home can make the top spot, by far the best tracks at the top of the charts right now
Lukas Graham at 5 and 17 which gives a #2 combined
combining...
1 Mike Posner 1.0000
2 5H 0.7600
3 Lukas Graham 0.7528
4 Sia 0.7076
5 Sigala 0.6387
6 Lush Life 0.6344
7 Blonde 0.5138
Lukas Graham lost 0.04 in the last update, a dramatic decrease compared to how it's been going recently
Almost everything decreased, it's due to Mike Posner increasing rather than Lukas Graham actually declining in sales
But 5th Harmony only lost 0.01, which is why I highlighted it as it means 5H have gained in the battle of a sort for 2nd
58 Fifth Harmony - The Life
100 Stealth - Intro
136 Pierce The Veil - Texas Is Forever
143 Nick Jonas feat. Tove Lo - Close
155 Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
171 Netsky & Jauz - Higher
129 Nick Jonas Close (feat. Tove Lo)
Streaming is now the main player of the charts. Streaming has made everything very boring. Downloads had a very short life, i wonder what will be the next development to take over from streaming.
111. Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
158. Katy B - Who Am I (feat. Craig David & Major Lazer)
I Wanna Be is SO good, hope it manages to go quite high even if it is just an instant grat. It's the best thing from this era aside from Turn the Music Louder. Sad to see Who Am I doing so badly.
It's definitely strange that 'Who Am I' has underperformed so much when Craig David can instantly get a new Blonde single into the official top 15. And it has Major Lazer on it too.
'Honey' was originally meant to be just a mixtape though so maybe the label aren't really pushing for a hit.
It helps that the Blonde song has received instant support from Capital I guess, they seem to be tweeting about it non stop
40 Fifth Harmony - The Life
92 Nick Jonas feat. Tove Lo - Close
100 Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
106 Netsky & Jauz - Higher
113 Pierce The Veil - Texas Is Forever
133 Stealth - Intro
137 The Lumineers - Cleopatra
190 Pierce The Veil - The Divine Zero
191 Meghan Trainor - Watch Me Do
36. Jay Sean - Make My Love Go (feat. Sean Paul)
Hoping this can smash - such a good track, hopefully the Habibi (INYR) of this year
Craig David and now Jay Sean back in the charts. It's like the 00s all over again!
23. Meghan Trainor - NO
25. The Chainsmokers - Roses (feat. ROZES)
34. Jay Sean - Make My Love Go (feat. Sean Paul)
37. Fifth Harmony - The Life
74. Nick Jonas feat. Tove Lo - Close
86. Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
91. Netsky & Jauz - Higher
117. The Lumineers - Cleopatra
184. Meghan Trainor - Watch Me Do
185. MAGIC! - Lay You Down Easy (feat. Sean Paul)
248. Jake Quickenden - Can't Stand the Rain
269. The Tide – Young Love
428. The Goo Goo Dolls - Over and Over
717. Thrice – Blood On The Sand
804. Netsky - Forget What You Look Like (feat. Lowell)
I think I remember hearing Rozes in an (unskippable) VEVO advert so that might be helping its climb
Maybe someone could make a thread updating it with songs used in adverts (tv/unskippable Youtube ones)?
34. Jay Sean feat. Sean Paul - Make My Love Go
A price reduction and growing radio plays are really helping this!
The Blonde and Craig David track is so dope!
11. Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself (Disappointed to see this drop out of the top 10 following the price increase)
23. Meghan Trainor - NO (Finally making some decent progress, I'm expecting 'No' to go top 3 following her Voice performance which is a good result.
29. Years & Years Feat Tove Lo - Desire
32. Jay Sean Feat Sean Paul - Make My Love Go
37. Fifth Harmony - The Life
64. Nick Jonas Feat Tove Lo - Close
65. Shawn Mendes Feat Camilla Cabello - I Know What You Did Last Summer
70. Iggy Azeala - Team
81. Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
82. Netsky & Jauz - Higher
106. The Lumineers - Cleopatra
383. Steve Aoki & Felix Jaehn - Can't Go Home (feat. Adam Lambert) [Radio Edit]
457. Clare Maguire - Elizabeth Taylor
738. Netsky - Forget What You Look Like (feat. Lowell)
I just accidentally navigated my way to worldwide Kworb and it said 'Faded' is the worldwide #1 Is that accurate?
Just heard that Meghan Trainor song... It sounds lifted straight out of 2001!
Interested to see if this becomes a trend, an early 00's revival would most be most welcome.
475. Hailee Steinfeld - Rock Bottom (feat. DNCE)
Maybe the DNCE feature could help Hailee get some radio support for this one, it's such a radio-friendly song but then we thought that about Love Myself and look what happened! This is already doing better in Australia than Love Myself ever did though so maybe there is hope.
I was kinda hoping that "Pop Kids" by Pet Shop Boys would make some sort of impression on the Top 100, the CD was released last week but after a performance on The Graham Norton Show I expected it be a bit higher than 164 ! The EP is 138 in the Albums which again is quite low given the sluggish nature of the Album chart at the moment.
PILLOWTALK @ 6
I think the pop bars from different countries are weighted. See the vertical lines. http://kworb.net/ww/
Smaller countries have a smaller fraction so he should genuinely be at #1.
30. Years & Years - Desire (feat. Tove Lo)
49. Stevie McCrorie - My Heart Never Lies
20. NO - Meghan Trainor
McAlmont & Butler's Yes at number 36 after The Voice tonight
Stevie McCrorie now at #43. The song didn't sound too bad actually on The Voice tonight.
Not a very big effect for Years & Years - still at #30.
combined now
1 I Took A Pill 1.00
2 Lukas Graham 0.73
3 Fifth Harmony 0.71
4 Sia Cheap Thrills 0.66
5 Zara 0.57
6 Sigala 0.50
so everybody is miles behind Mike Posner... wonder how many weeks he can be at #1... cannot see anything in the top 40 that could climb to #1...
Shocked at what a minimal effect Years & Years had from The Voice!
I didn't see the performance but Years & Years aren't exactly known for providing great vocals on TV appearances
27. Jay Sean
1384. Billie Marten - Out of the Black
Used in the finale of BBC Three drama 'Thirteen' that went online a couple of hours ago, intrigued to see how high this goes!
I still feel like “Faded” could become a #1, although admittedly it is making very slow progress.
I hope Faded can go #1 aswell, it's amazing I bet it would have went #1 a couple of years ago when held back releases were huge
The charts are so boring these days *sigh*, do people in general even care about them anymore?
I do actually! It's interesting to see how songs take off now with the assistance of streaming before sales as opposed to the other way round...
Of course I can't speak in general, does anyone actually know if the chart garners more listeners in its new Friday slot?
Well, we are getting less visitors but historically we always used to have our best days on Sundays when the chart was on (presumably as more people are home to browse an internet forum) and Fridays always used to be our least active day prior to the move.
So Buzzjack as a whole might not be the best indicator, there might just be considerably more people listening while driving or something. That's without seeing any statistics that may have been produced.
selena is doing so great on itunes
but not that good on spotify
CLIMB Shakira! Watched Zootropolis and while it's not a Disney CLASSIC song it'll be good to see it getting more recognition (if only because the film itself is essential)
The chartshow was an event in the nineties. The chart was interesting, the jingles were AMAZING, and Bruno was worth tuning in for his occasional gaffes like instead of saying hits saying 'top tits comin' at ya' or playing the completely uncensored version of Rage Against The Machine with Motherf***er screaming out across the nation followed by a calm Bruno simply stating 'Rage Against The Machine, Killing In The Name - thats a new entry at number 27.'
Greg and the same 25 songs slightly rearranged (that I hate listening to anyway) just doesn't have the same appeal.
I doubt the chart show will ever be popular with it being on a Friday.
I really do remember when the chart was a massive event, families would actively have the radio on on Sunday nights to hear what's #1 and hear the entire countdown. The general public don't care about it anymore and chart positions are things people now find out about from second hand info, like in interviews or X factor intros.
But there will always be chart geeks, that keep the chart alive to a certain point. It's a shame he chart moved to a Friday for the forum as, understandably, the forum isn't going to get as much traffic on a Friday, which is a shame.
I agree with SevenSize(as I do with a lot of his posts) it is more exciting now as tracks have to earn their top positions instead of smashing in at no1 after 8 weeks of rotation and masses of pre orders. That was the reason the chart started going downhill in the late 90s as people realised it was all a fix and artists would wait until a free week to release to give them a chance at the top. Yes 12 NEs with 6 in the top 10 makes for interest to see where things land but the most popular tracks truely reach the top now.
I mean what did chart geeks do from 1952-95 when songs grew the chart? (And yes I know songs hang around longer now due to streaming)!
Really hoping Nick Jonas and Tove Lo can climb today with Totd. Really loving it at the moment.
It will be interesting to see if Birdy or Zara manage to get a good impact from The Voice this week, I'm guessing it should provide Zara with one final week in the top five which is far more than what I could have imagined.
08. Tinie TempaH Feat Zara Larsson - Girls Like [Looks like this will miss the top five in the official charts, it would have been interesting to see had the video been released when it was three on iTunes what impact it could have made]
17. Meghan Trainor - NO
25. Jay Sean Feat Sean Paul - Make My Love Go
27. The Killers - Mr Brightside
33. Years & Years Feat Tove Lo - Desire
41. Fifth Harmony - The Life
56. Nick Jonas Feat Tove Lo - Close
85. Iggy Azeala - Team [Ouch, I'm guessing this will be a buzz single now]
90. Katy B & Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be
92. MNEK & Zara Larsson - Never Forget You [This is going to take a huge tumble in the official charts]
175. WSTRN - Come Down
Really getting into this now, shame it's not higher. Confident it'll rise again though! Also, 'Panda' is at #147. Keep an eye on this - starting to blow up in America and giving me slight Trap Queen vibes (obviously won't be as big as that though).
Sia is now no 3 when combined and very close to 2. Could it be no 1 next week?
'Mr Brightside' forever taking advantage of that 59p impact (I assume it's 59p, right?)
47 Nick Jonas Close (feat. Tove Lo)
Would be great to see this top 40 by the end of today.
17. NO - Meghan Trainor
21. Roses (feat. ROZES) - The Chainsmokers
24. Make My Love Go (feat. Sean Paul) - Jay Sean
42. Close (feat. Tove Lo) - Nick Jonas
50. Try Everything - Shakira
19. The Chainsmokers - Roses (feat. ROZES)
102. The Last Shadow Puppets - Miracle Aligner
126. Ellie Goulding - Here's to Us
299. Michael Kiwanuka - Black Man in a White World
05. Blonde ft Craig David // Nothing Like This
Good to see this rising, hopefully can hit the top 10 officially
99. WSTRN - "Come Down" Any reason for its climb after its massive drop?
58. Flo Rida - My House
This will most likely climb into the top 40 by the end of the weekend.
It's been hanging around for ages has it not? Why would it vault into the top 40 now?
Because the song is one of the theme tunes to Wrestlemania which is this Sunday.
It's not very good though so I'd prefer it didn't 'vault into the top 40' tbh.
2nd version of Cake By the Ocean now top 100 so top 15 seems comfortable for DNCE this week I'd have thought!
Jennifer Lopez:
202 Jennifer Lopez On the Floor (feat. Pitbull)
203 Jennifer Lopez Love Don't Cost a Thing
258 Jennifer Lopez On the Floor (feat. Pitbull) [Radio Edit]
342 Jennifer Lopez Jenny from the Block
605 Jennifer Lopez Booty (feat. Iggy Azalea)
744 Jennifer Lopez If You Had My Love
867 Jennifer Lopez Waiting for Tonight
950 Jennifer Lopez Ain't It Funny
953 Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule I'm Real (feat. Ja Rule) [Murder Remix]
1272 Jennifer Lopez All I Have (feat. LL Cool J)
1400 Jennifer Lopez Play
James Corden's Carpool Karaoke effect.
Good to see Walk The Moon climb to #115 with WTB. Hope it climbs some more so they can have their one-hit wonder status removed
Agreed, the original is streets ahead
Sia is now no 2 combined - just.
Where is I Luh Ya Papi?
19. Jay Sean
Both Papi songs are rightfully in the pits where they belong
Love Don't Cost A Thing #133
18. Make My Love Go (feat. Sean Paul) - Jay Sean
19. Roses (feat. ROZES) - The Chainsmokers
37. Close (feat. Tove Lo) - Nick Jonas
65. Middle (feat. Bipolar Sunshine) - DJ Snake
71. Team - Iggy Azalea
75. Come Down - WSTRN
77. LIKE I WOULD - ZAYN
Wow! Totally forgot about Ja Rule, is that guy even still alive?
I Luh Ya Papi is a legit JAM.
Can we expect The Vamps x OMI - I Found a Girl or Galantis - Money to make any dent in the chart next week??
This is a brand new version of I Found a Girl though and has 2 CD singles and a DVD in a bundle on their website, which they usually do but Rest Your Love didn't get that for whatever reason, which was no doubt a huge hindrance to its chart impact. I think this could go top 40 but I'm really not sure.
Oh.. well in that case - looks like it'll flop. I did see a pre-order in the Top 200 so it may do a little better than the last single.
Rihanna - Kiss It Better to #93.
Video was released a few hours ago.
Ariana Grande on Alan Carr tonight but not performing - Izzu Bizu performing instead!
81. Rihanna - Kiss It Better
Hopefully it will continue to make progress tomorrow!
The vamps strategy for this album has been awful. The management of the first album/ singles seemed to be really good but I just can't grasp there strategy this time around and it really isn't working. I can see I found a Girl flopping tbh.
I don't think it helps that radio don't seem to be here for them as much this time round really. The last album got a-list support from Radio 1 for every single bar Can We Dance but they've not made it any higher than b-list this time, and even then I'm sure Wake Up stalled on the c-list for a few weeks. Capital dropped Wake Up after about a week too
05. Girls Like (feat. Zara Larsson) - Tinie Tempah
16. Make My Love Go (feat. Sean Paul) - Jay Sean
23. Dangerous Woman - Ariana Grande
55. Middle (feat. Bipolar Sunshine) - DJ Snake
57. Team - Iggy Azalea
64. LIKE I WOULD - ZAYN
75. Kiss It Better - Rihanna
84. Promise (feat. Fetty Wap) - Kid Ink
