Changes wasn't great for me but I've really enjoyed the singles this era so far, so I'm really excited!! Amazing artwork, and out so soon! ohmy.gif Tracklist TBA but almost definitely including Holy, Lonely, Anyone and forthcoming single Hold On (out next Friday).

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 26th February 2021, 05:21 PM

Oh wow wasn't expecting an album! I've loved his recent singles, so looking forward to this

Posted by: JosephStyles 26th February 2021, 05:28 PM

This came out on streaming earlier, just another of those EPs consisting of songs that already exist but the title is JB6 and includes Holy, Lonely and Anyone, all but confirming they'll all be on the album.

Posted by: Liam.k. 26th February 2021, 05:35 PM

Let's hope the start of each song doesn't sound exactly the same again! laugh.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 26th February 2021, 05:38 PM

I suppose Lana will likely beat him to #1 here?

Posted by: Liam.k. 26th February 2021, 05:39 PM

I reckon so, Lana's last album sold 31k on first week verses Justin's 18k.

Posted by: Bjork 26th February 2021, 05:50 PM

but there's been a lot of backlash against Lana
don't think she's gonna get the universal acclaim she got with NFR

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 26th February 2021, 06:02 PM

That's a really good album cover!

Posted by: Yog 26th February 2021, 06:33 PM

Ugh.. that cover is tragic

Posted by: Calum 26th February 2021, 06:39 PM

Love the artwork, and I'm so ready cheeseblock.png

Posted by: Rooney 26th February 2021, 07:03 PM

The singles have been solid so far in the UK at least, I think depending on what the next single is that could sway the album to number 1.

Anyway I am in the minority but I really liked Changes. I've enjoyed the singles so far from Justice, interested to see what the complete album is like. Definitely sounds like it will be more pop/MOR.

Posted by: MrAndrewMan 26th February 2021, 08:42 PM

Although I hate Changes, I've quite liked the singles from this so far so I'm interested to hear it!

Posted by: Lomadz 26th February 2021, 08:46 PM

The cover alone is stunning, hope he releases a better album than changes which had 1 good song.

Laroi collab officially coming! cheeseblock.png

Posted by: Jαsє 26th February 2021, 11:31 PM

His collab with Laroi could be huge ohmy.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th February 2021, 12:06 AM

Hmm none of those features particularly excite me, other than Dominc Fike but he's not been living up to his early music lately :/

Though I'm not really a Chance fan and Holy is brilliant!

Posted by: Bré 27th February 2021, 12:13 AM

Moderately interested in the Burna Boy feature I guess ~

I actually really liked 'Anyone' so I hope that's more indicative of the quality of his other new stuff than his 2020 output which was all very middling at best.

Sorry if i sound old... but who is Laroi ???

The Kid Laroi, a 17 year old Australian rapper/singer/songwriter. Most recently has had big success with the single Without You and F*ck Love (Savage) [mixtape].

People saying the album cover looks good?! Wash out your eyes, girls.

Posted by: JosephStyles 1st March 2021, 03:14 PM

Not sure what's meant to be so bad about it? ohmy.gif It's a great shot, love the colouring and fonts used too. He's hit and miss with album covers but this is a lot better than Changes in my opinion.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 1st March 2021, 03:49 PM

It reminds me a lot of certain late 90s album (or compilation) covers in a good way!

Posted by: Klumzee 1st March 2021, 03:53 PM

I like the album cover! Stands out anyway which is the job. Also the title reminds me of Justin Timberlake and Justified back in the day so I quite like the tie-in with his own name! I'm just hoping it's not an album of him being mopey and calling out for justice in his world.

Posted by: Liam.k. 1st March 2021, 04:30 PM

The cover looks like something that someone who is reasonably okay at working photoshop might create. It's not bad but it's just not to the standard of a professional team, which I assume Justin has. There's a lot going on effects-wise and I think it would benefit from being toned down (although I would probably use a different photoshoot all together).

Posted by: JosephStyles 11th March 2021, 07:02 AM

Tracklist!

1. 2 Much
2. Deserve You
3. As I Am (feat. Khalid)
4. Off My Face

7. Interlude
8. Die For You (feat. Dominic Fike)

12. Peaches (feat. Giveon & Daniel Caesar)
13. Love You Different (feat. BEAM)
14. Loved By You (feat. Burna Boy)

I feel like Bieber collabs with my faves rarely live up to my expectations yet I'm still SO hyped for the Laroi collab... laugh.gif

Posted by: Rooney 14th March 2021, 11:17 AM

Looks like some of the rumours are true and there will be at least one Skrillex produced track on the album.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 18th March 2021, 03:56 PM

Oops! To be fair, when I saw the album cover the first thing I thought of was Justice's logo laugh.gif

As I am is that tune

Posted by: Ho-Lee Smokes 19th March 2021, 09:59 AM

Why is peaches being pushed frankie.png

Posted by: Sour Candy 19th March 2021, 10:00 AM

That lawsuit is pretty much all the press this is getting in the industry publications right now. Not sure, if it has any effect on GP though

Posted by: Hadji 19th March 2021, 10:08 AM

In next weeks album chart, I reckon Lana will be #1 on sales but this will be #1 officially

Posted by: Rooney 19th March 2021, 11:59 AM

I'll have to give this a few listens, it's always the same with his albums. As I Am stands out as the most instant for sure, it is definitely the catchiest.

I quite like Peaches too, I can see why they are pushing it in America especially. It does sound like it would have fit in Changes more though.

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 19th March 2021, 06:39 PM

He's releasing a Deluxe version on Monday

Posted by: Among Haus 19th March 2021, 06:57 PM

Well this album is a GREAT return to the Bieber we love. The production is sublime for the most part and pretty much every track works.

My only point of contention is, as important and powerful as the Martin Luther King interludes are, they don't really fit with the surrounding songs that seem to be overtly about his relationship/love for Hailey. So they seem a bit out of place, but of course, the exposure and messages they convey are welcomed!

'Lonely' is probably my least favourite song on there but even that works as a strong album closer with the vibe suddenly slowing to a halt as it closes.

Overall, the album is fantastic - so many highlights wub.gif This is the return I wanted!

Posted by: Lomadz 19th March 2021, 06:58 PM

His best album and as cohesive as Purpose.. what a stunning return to form.

Posted by: JosephStyles 19th March 2021, 07:01 PM

It really is such a return to form, what an incredible album! Not a single dud track. I agree the MLK Interlude felt quite out of place despite the lovely message but that aside, I can't really fault it. The sequencing, the actual material, and the features are all great.

The alternate artwork CDs each have a bonus track - Red Eye (feat. TroyBoi), Hailey (not as cringeworthy a song as you'd expect x) and Angels Speak - so I assume they're the three deluxe songs for Monday.

Posted by: Dexton 20th March 2021, 08:21 AM

Wow this is a great album

Posted by: Lomadz 20th March 2021, 10:22 AM

Chalk and cheese to the last album! His best album to date by quite a distance! Some great reviews as well (and some poor ones by reviewers that see its Bieber and don't actually listen to it). As I am is the one!

Posted by: Billy. 20th March 2021, 11:42 AM

I think this album is great, people defo hate on him for the littlest things - there’s nothing really wrong with the artwork either IMO.

Ghost, Somebody and Unstable are my favs atm

Posted by: JosephStyles 20th March 2021, 11:56 AM

Whole album except the interlude is top 50 on UK Spotify, Peaches is just a few hundred streams off #1. Hold On #7 on Spotify and #3 on Apple so looking good for it to FINALLY become a top 10 hit!

He has the whole top 7 on US Spotify and every song is top 30 there, except the interlude which is #34.

Posted by: MrAndrewMan 20th March 2021, 01:30 PM

This is actually a really great album! Way better than I was expecting and I already know I'm going to be listening to it so much more than I listened to Changes.

I think Ghost is my favourite atm wub.gif

Posted by: Calum 20th March 2021, 01:55 PM

Deserve You really is THAT SONG cheeseblock.png

This is such an incredible album based on first listen - no filler at all, and a definite return to form after Changes (which isn't even a bad album, just very forgettable).

Posted by: Envoirment 20th March 2021, 02:40 PM

The album is so good! It's going to be massive *_* There are still so many single choices after "Hold On".

"Somebody", "As I Am", "Deserve You" & "Ghost" are what I'm thinking. Even "Die For You" actually - I really like the 70s/80s vibe of the production.

Posted by: Rooney 20th March 2021, 03:49 PM

I know I am in the minority, but I bloody loved Changes. It took a lot of listens to get the album as a whole, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm finding the same with Justice. I've enjoyed the singles but I haven't been blown away. Hold On for me is the weakest of the singles, I am a little surprised they went with that to lead the album. This is way more of a follow-up to Purpose in terms of style, but it's far more Pop orientated. The only minor criticism I have is what a few people have said already about the MLK stuff. Reading interviews I know what he is wanting to achieve with the message and meaning but it doesn't quite work for me.

Love You Different, Off My Face and Peaches are my fav. The latter is an absolute pop, glad to see it doing really well.

Posted by: Tafty 20th March 2021, 06:57 PM

Not quite sure I'm up there with the hype surrounding it atm, but it's definitely a bigger improvement on his previous album but it's still a bit uninteresting, for me.

No idea why they're pushing 'Peaches' as the single to launch the album off of? It's definitely the worst on the album for me laugh.gif 'As I Am', 'Off My Face', 'Die For You' & 'Somebody' are my highlights (I've finally come around to 'Anyone' too!).

A solid album don't get me wrong, but it's still pretty much just "there" ultimately for me. I assume that will soon be wiped away the more I become familiar with the album.

Posted by: Liam.k. 20th March 2021, 07:07 PM

I could only get through half of each song, which is admittedly an improvement on the last album. ph34r.gif

Also, what exactly is this justice he's fighting for?

Posted by: Sour Candy 21st March 2021, 08:40 AM

It's obvious that he is using MLK and those upcoming r&b artists such as Giveon and D. Caesar to get some genre credibility. But is it the "Justice"?

Posted by: Lomadz 21st March 2021, 09:05 AM

Or MAYBE just maybe he loves R&B and appreciates the genre. I hate 2021!

Posted by: Sour Candy 21st March 2021, 10:22 AM

I wouldn't be so sceptic if the Grammy rant didn't happen.

Posted by: JosephStyles 21st March 2021, 11:08 AM

He's clearly an R&B fan. This album isn't R&B at all really, if he wanted genre credibility he probably wouldn't have put out one of his poppiest albums to date?

QUOTE(Sour Candy @ Mar 21 2021, 10:22 AM) *

That rant was a bit strange to be fair!

Still cannot believe how strong this album is, just pure quality! Hope it reaches now with Peaches doing the same...it will show that all artists need to do is release actual good music.

Posted by: ClaudiaKinkleman 21st March 2021, 02:19 PM

Yeah the album obviously has *some* R&B influences but is not at its core an R&B record - it’s pop. But it’s been apparent for the best part of a decade now that Justin clearly has an affinity for R&B music, a listen to Journals would confirm that in a second (which I, probably controversially, think is his best body of work).

Aside from the fact that Justice has maybe one too many ballads for my taste, it’s a GREAT album and I can’t stress how much of an improvement it is from Changes, which was literally just ambient noise.

Posted by: blacksquare 21st March 2021, 02:40 PM

I absolutely love Peaches

Posted by: Bré 21st March 2021, 05:03 PM

Daniel Caesar would be a curious choice of artist to gain 'genre credibility' considering he's had some controversies of his own whistle.gif

Btw am not planning to listen to this album but I am continuing to be impressed by the massive improvement in his singles in 2021 - 'Anyone' was the best thing he'd put out for years and I think I like 'Hold On' even more!

Posted by: JackTheeStallion 21st March 2021, 05:29 PM

Why would you not listen if you were so impressed by the last two singles? laugh.gif

Posted by: JackTheeStallion 21st March 2021, 05:31 PM

Also, I am v impressed by the album! I love the two singles, Peaches, As I Am and Die For You the most so far wub.gif

I wasn't keen on Peaches initially but it's grown loads and I'm happy to see it be a hit.

Lonely is by far the worst.

I've not listened to any of his albums, these being his best songs in years doesn't mean they rise to the level of being good enough to make me want to hear a whole album from him kink.gif I'm just commenting on the dramatic improvement from just last year which was something of a new low point in his career to date (the other 2 singles so far even from this album were much worse with 'Lonely' being one of his worst songs ever lmao).

I'll check out a few of the songs with features though. x

Yeah I agree Jack, I think if you like Hold On then you will be a fan of the album. I'm not a huge fan of Hold On and a few of the more 70s/80s synth tracks, they are taking a little more time for them to connect with me but at least half of the album is in the same vein as Hold On, this is a pure Pop album for the most part.

Posted by: HausofArgento 21st March 2021, 07:17 PM

'Peaches' grows more and more with each listen. I'm really happy it's a single now dance.gif

The album as a whole is such a great listen. I've had it on repeat pretty much all weekend!

Posted by: JosephStyles 21st March 2021, 10:00 PM

Can't stop listening to this whole album wub.gif My ranking so far, including the bonus tracks from the exclusive CDs:

1. Anyone (truly a career best, this still hits me so hard heart.gif)
2. Hold On
3. Deserve You
4. Unstable (I wish this popped off more than it does but I can't get over how good Justin and Laroi sound together, I hope there are more collabs on the cards!)
5. Love You Different
6. Ghost (this one's soaring up with each play)
7. Holy
8. Off My Face
9. Peaches
10. As I Am
11. Die for You
12. Somebody
13. Loved By You
14. Hailey
15. Lonely
16. Red Eye (this production *_* )
17. 2 Much (though this is the perfect opener!)
18. Angels Speak

Angels Speak is genuinely the only one I don't really care for laugh.gif

Posted by: dannjohn 22nd March 2021, 10:16 AM

I think the problem with the MLK interlude is leading into literally a love song... about your wife. it's a really odd placing.

I really like 'peaches'

Posted by: John-James 22nd March 2021, 06:26 PM

Not feeling this unfortunately. Definitely better than Changes but I still not the level I'd have thought after reading online comments. Maybe I'm just not a massive fan anymore after him previously being one of my favourite artists. Sigh...

Also Peaches is absolutely revolting and one of the worst, how is that song blowing up?! Truly baffling!

Deluxe is coming!

Edit: out at midnight, 6 more songs!!

Posted by: JosephStyles 26th March 2021, 07:00 AM

New tracks:

17. There She Go (feat. Lil Uzi Vert)
18. I Can't Be Myself (feat. Jaden)
19. Lifetime
20. Wish You Would (feat. Quavo)
21. Know No Better (feat. DaBaby)
22. Name (feat. Tori Kelly)

Loads of collabs! And the three physical bonus tracks remain just that for now.

Posted by: Lomadz 26th March 2021, 07:15 AM

The Tori collab is stunning

Posted by: LMLou 26th March 2021, 08:21 AM

Wow I wonder why he didn’t put some of those big name collabs on the original release
Haven’t listened to the deluxe tracks yet but I hope it doesn’t keep up with the recent trend for me where deluxe versions drag the album down as a whole

Posted by: Rooney 26th March 2021, 02:54 PM

Like the whole album, I think the extra tracks take some more listenings. I can see why they are left off the main album for the most part as they don't fit the whole tone as much. A couple of them I do actually wonder if they are leftovers from Changes (Wish You Would and Know No Better). They have a similar type of production.

Posted by: MrAndrewMan 26th March 2021, 03:13 PM

Just had a listen to the deluxe tracks and ngl I'm quite disappointed sad.gif

'There She Go' and 'Wish You Would' really do sound like Changes rejects and most of the others are just quite forgettable. 'Name' is stunning though so at least I like one of the new tracks! wub.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 26th March 2021, 04:24 PM

Number 1 in Ireland this week with Lana Del Rey at 2.

Posted by: Liam.k. 27th March 2021, 02:20 PM

'Peaches' is quite nice, not blown away by it but I can definitely seeing it being huge.

Posted by: Calum 27th March 2021, 02:40 PM

The Tori collab is stunning, really loving that the most of the deluxe tracks wub.gif Do agree with the comments about some of the others sounding like rejects from Changes though oops sad.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 27th March 2021, 03:57 PM

Lifetime doesn’t fit the main album but it does sound like a smash, it’s the sort of ballad Ed Sheeran would chart with for three years straight. Really liking I Can’t Be Myself and Name from the bonus tracks too.

The main album is very solid overall, vastly better than Changes for me. I’ve liked all of the singles from it to some extent, particularly Anyone and Hold On. Peaches is not my type of thing but it’s very catchy and I can see why it’s smashing.

Posted by: Rooney 27th March 2021, 04:06 PM

See it’s really interesting, I can’t get it on to Name at all but I really like I Can’t Be Myself, that definitely sounds like it could fit on the album. Gooddelta- I totally agree about Lifetime- I had to check the song credits to see who wrote it to check it wasn’t Ed Sheeran! I definitely think it could have fit in the first half of the album before the MLK interlude.

Posted by: JosephStyles 27th March 2021, 04:40 PM

I Can't Be Myself is the only one of the new tracks that could slot into the main album for me, it's my fave of the six! I really like There She Go though and both Lifetime and Name are lovely. DaBaby's rap on Know No Better makes it worthwhile laugh.gif Wish You Would is probably my least favourite across the whole 24-track thing (!) (ignoring MLK lol), it's perfectly fine but quite average.

Still though, among 24 tracks there's 22 I find worthwhile - that's such a great hit rate and perhaps even better than Believe, which is my favourite Bieber album. We'll see how I feel about this when it's brand new but I think Changes proves that a new Bieber album doesn't always get stan bias from me kink.gif

Posted by: Ho-Lee Smokes 27th March 2021, 04:52 PM

there was a miley deluxe that was originally due on the album but for whatever reason they didn't include it (cough scooter)

Posted by: Bré 29th March 2021, 10:53 AM

Not sure if you're including his features but the following are missing (and I'd say some are more notable than the likes of 10,000 Hours and particularly Wait for a Minute despite the joint credit there):

Next to You (with Chris Brown)
Live My Life (with Far East Movement)
#thatPOWER (with will.i.am)
Lolly (with Maejor Ali and Juicy J)
Cold Water (with Major Lazer and MØ)
Let Me Love You (with DJ Snake)
Deja Vu (with Post Malone)
Despacito (with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee)
I'm the One (with DJ Khaled and friends)
2U (with David Guetta)
No Brainer (with DJ Khaled and friends)

Plus two of the "Music Mondays" singles (though what is and isn't a single for that "era" is somewhat debatable!!):

Hold Tight
All Bad

And the somewhat limited release of Home to Mama (with Cody Simpson), which is on Spotify as part of a compilation.

(excuse my Bieber geekery laugh.gif)

Released 4 singles from it hasn't he? Looks like he's touring now, so can imagine they just leave this album. I don't think there was an obvious single smash on there.

Plus he's on a new song with Skrillex this week.

it makes no sense why their bothered with a deluxe edition and didnt promote one of those songs...
