- This album has been in the pipeline since 2010.
- She's been working with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_(production_team) who produced her previous solo albums.
- Last year she supposedly described her forthcoming music as being "High end dance. Think Madonna's Confessions, but more nineties."
- Yesterday (at the launch of her latest clothing range for Next) she revealed: "I am in the studio, an announcement is imminent. I've been mastering my album. I'm really excited, my pop career is about to come back!"

Her solo output has been almost exclusively horrific (with the exception of the fabulous Ride It and Desire, naturally) but Geru is a massive gay icon and possibly the campest woman alive so I'm interested to see what she cooks up. It's bound to be a laugh.
Oh Dear, probably the most untalented woman around returns.
Whatever, "Love Never Loved Me" is a f***ing classic and sooo ahead of it's time!! I'm soo excited for her to bring it!
Mel C, Emma and Geri were my personal faves. Mel B has done good songs too. I was so into Geri when I was younger. Scream, Lift Me Up, Bag it up were my standouts. So I'm happy that she is coming back to a solo career but she won't do any better than Mel C in todays music.
Oh god, she's doing Eurovision isn't she?
I'm really excited for this, shes looking great atm Hopefully she'll get a surprise hit from this !! I'll buy it regardless
Eurovision might be her best chance of getting noticed and if she went through to the final she would manage a top 20 single out of it, outside that i cant see her doing much or maybe thats wishful thinking on my part. Geri was always my least favourite Spice Girl and i never liked her solo material or voice.
Oh yes, finally! And she looks amazing
I still can't believe that 'Bag It Up' got to #1. One of the campest songs in existance.
I absolutely loved Geri back in the day, 'Ride It' is still a fabulous song. I am actually looking forward to what she releases.
she's the British woman with the most number 1's for a solo female in the UK EVER!!!!!!...
enough said haters!!!!
Guilty pleasure I have to admit...
While Bag It Up, Look At Me etc. haven't aged well at all and are awfully camp (well actually, there's nothing wrong with camp ), Ride It and Desire are still amazing, I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm looking forward to seeing what she brings out now!
I did not see this one coming lol I love Geri, she was my favourite Spice Girl and I liked a lot of her solo songs..am looking forward to hearing her new stuff
Geri has always been my least favourite Spice Girl, but any solo material from them is much appreciated. I'm such a fan of them that anything is better than nothing. I can't even imagine the levels of tackiness though, Geri is so tacky and she doesn't even realise it. I'm sure her version of "high end dance" is "Eurovision rejects".
I liked some of Geri's songs but can't see her doing well at all.

Just some amusing audio clips from her 2005 documentary.
I must say, Geri's definition of "imminent" is a bit off! Eight months after posting this thread, she's done her first solo set in 7 years, at the Breast Cancer Care fashion show.
The three songs were 'Phenomenal Woman' (brand new song), 'Wannabe' & 'It's Raining Men'.
Theres HD videos of it now Love her ballad version of Wannabe.
Can Geri pull of a decent return to the charts? I am not sure,i have a sneaky little feeling this upcoming album will never see the light of day unless she releases it as a download only album.
Geri for me, has always been one of those pop artists where if she does it really well and works within what she knows best, it's good. But by the same token, you unfortunately know about it when it's absolutely terrible (I'll mention no names but to a certain Jamaican reggae star, hang your head in shame)...
If they market her at a different audience this time round - i.e do what Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Mel C have done very successfully and corner the Radio 2 market, the audience of which probably has a new influx of listeners that are left cold by the disappearance of Chris Moyles from Radio 1 - then it could work and produce a couple more top 20/top 30 hits to her name at the very least.
Obviously this is Geri we are talking about because she's very good at selling herself, but I think you can tell she won't be AS desperate as she was back then this time round cause it'll be more for the enjoyment of it and for the fans that have stuck with her rather than chasing chart positions etc. In short, she won't be hitching up with Chris Evans or Robbie again on week of release.

Professionally filmed videos will appear of Geri's YouTube tomorrow, but for now there's a clip of Wannabe:
The best live singing she's ever done, rather proud of her! Although she must have had greater confidence in her abilities to do this, she was still quite nervous. It definitely shows when she's giving a speech. Bless her.
I don't think Geri will ever have chart success again, but I'm liking the sound of "Phenomenal Woman" - tis typical Geri stuff. She's my least favourite vocally but I'll take any new solo Spice material.
Geri never vocally impressed me, i found her hunger for fame admirable and annoying at the same time as she often reeked of desperation. Some of her single cornered the pop market very well, but she also did some extremely poor singles. I think her biggest talent lies with putting herself out there, she knows how to grab attention ( sometimes for the wrong reasons) and sometimes what i dont like about is she believes she is a bigger star than what she really is and she also gives herself some extra credit that is not warranted. Her judging on x factor showed that, i felt she tried to convince herself she is as relevant as Gary Barlow in todays charts when it is totally the opposite.
All in all, i dont think Geri will ever bother the charts too much again unless a Greatest Hits package manages to make a very small impact on the charts.
I believe Geri deserves more credit than she gets. It's pretty unfair that she's considered to be such a joke these days, when she's a member of the Spice Girls, i.e. the biggest girl group of all time. That shouldn't be sniffed at as being irrelevant.
I have no doubts that a Geri comeback wouldn't set the charts alight at all, but she doesn't need to really. Melanie C, with all her talent & credibility, only manages to scrape the charts these days herself, so I wouldn't expect Geri to be huge. I'm just interested in what she'll come out with!
When it comes to Gary... Geri achieved something Gary never did, and that was worldwide success - as a group member and as a solo artist. When The X Factor goes on about wanting to create "worldwide stars" - Geri's the one who's been there and done that. She may be eccentric, but I believe her heart is always in the right place, and she was just trying to impress at the X Factor. She's misunderstood.
She is my favourite singer.
Music producer Elliot Kennedy confirmed yesterday that a new Geri Halliwell single and album are coming VERY SOON
Yesss! Back to beat those basic bitches trying to claim her most UK #01's record
YAS QUEEN! Serve me another "It's raining men"!
Look At Me is quite good, I got tired of Its Raining Men, honestly I can't see her getting a big hit out of this.
And Jess Glynne will no doubt match it at least by Summer of next year!
Ugh. Mel C should be the ex-Spice with with the most number 1's!
I know it wasn't no.1, but could Cheryl have ever pulled off anything as amazing as Look At Me?
It's no wonder she took this long, she had to take time perfecting the follow up to the iconic top 281 ARIA smash Half Of Me
Ride It pt.2 pls
Loved her solo stuff back in the day = Look At Me, Bag It Up, Lift Me Up and even It's Raining Men is a camp classic, also Ride It came out at the right time, wouldn't be a hit now though, probably the campest thing ever and plus that gloriously awful music video. Shame that "Love Never Loved Me" never became the single it should have been.
It will be interesting to hear her new stuff, but it won't stand a chance in today's charts.
Desire is such an underated gem.
'Desire' is horrific. As is 'Ride It'. As is majority of her stuff tbh.
'Look at Me' was her finest hour, albeit one that briefly conned us all into thinking she was gonna essentially be to the Spices what Robbie was to Take That. And it also sounded a bit like Propellerheads' History Repeating.
Then the rest of her solo career happened and well...she wasn't the Robbie. Hell, she wasn't even the Mark Owen. (Having said all that, I did have a bit of a soft spot for 'Scream If You Wanna Go Faster' - single that is, not album. It was easily the most bonkers thing she did, but released at a time when the public were wearing thin of her).
Ride It, Bag It Up, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and Look at Me are IKoNeK.
