Some good'uns out already! Today Was a Fairytale is particularly low, I'm sure it's not as familiar to many of the raters but it deserved better than that Everything Has Changed also deserved better really, and The Last Time is defo not her worst.
I'm not even gonna comment on #21 cause it's gonna make me angry though, what a ridiculous placing |

GUTTED to see 'Safe & Sound' missing the top 20 </3 that song is an absolute stunner and her vocals sound captivating on it, quite possibly the best they've ever sounded. I had no idea that Bray even disliked that song let alone hated it, until this rate! #Bradearenothtesameperson I cannae at that x
'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' that low is a huge shock, I thought it would be top 5 I hope 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' isn't outside the top 10 |

24th Safe & Sound (ft. The Civil Wars) 6.85 Omg at this batch, it's nearly all of her singles from 2012, and almost in order too! Just needed Begin Again to beat WANEGBT, and it would have been hilarious if that happened.
23rd Eyes Open 6.94 22nd Begin Again 7.00 21st We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 7.07 |

Shaking my head at these results I really wanted to vote but I was unfamiliar with so much stuff pre-Red and I never got around to listening to them all before I went on holiday
IDWLF gets way too much hate though, it's not one of her best bangers or anything but I've always liked how sultry it is and it really works for a film like Fifty Shades. WANEGBT is waaaaay too low too (probably in my top five of hers or just outside!). It's so much better than most of the Red singles aside from 22 for me so I can't believe how low it is |

YES YES YES at WANEGBT missing the top 20.
There is not one redeemable quality about that song, a horrible abomination. |

20th Mean 7.20
UK peak: N/A US peak: #11 (3x Platinum) Highest score: 10 (UltraReputation, Liam, Harry, Joseph) Lowest score: 0 (Bre) Kicking off the top 20 is one of Taylor's most countrified offerings, a song that draws from bluegrass rather than her usual country-pop or straight out pop. It's a sound that really suits her, and rather than sound out of place in her discography, she moulds it to her usual lyrical style perfectly. In this case, said lyrics are a takedown of critics who incessantly said she couldn't sing during promotion for the Fearless era, executed in the typically perfect not too serious way that Taylor always nails. 19th Teardrops On My Guitar 7.26 UK peak: #51 US peak: #13 (3x Platinum) Highest score: 10 (Jonjo, John James) Lowest score: -1 (Tawdry Hepburn) An early offering next, this time a song that embodies her first and second eras as it was a US single for the former and a UK single for the latter, following her worldwide breakthrough Love Story. This is a lovely country ballad that, typically for her first couple of eras, deals with love. As you'd guess from the title though, this is heartbreak rather than a perfect fairytale. An anthem for unrecquited love we could all relate to as a teen I'm sure |

Mean is fab and I'm glad it made the top 20, definitely a highlight from Speak Now
Teardrops is fab but I would've put a few other songs top 20 over it which have dropped out! |

I'm not really a fan of ultra countrified Taylor but 'Teardrops On My Guitar' is the one song I do quite like from her debut, a nice lil simple song. Nostalgia definitely helps with that too as I used to put the music channels on while I did homework and that song would come on so much.

18th Sparks Fly 7.33 (less 10s)
Highest score: 10 (Johnkm, Billy) Lowest score: 2 (Mack) UK peak: N/A US peak: #17 (Platinum) In the first tie of the rate, the final single of Speak Now before its re-release just loses out. This is classic Taylor country pop, nothng new by the time Speak Now came out but it does the job well, I just wish it had got a better video than the generic tour one. Lyrically, this is about love that shouldn't make you feel so good, but it produces magic, sparks and electric chemistry. 17th Should've Said No 7.33 (more 10s) Highest score: 10 (UltraReputation, Liam, Shaphne, Swiftie) Lowest score: 3 (blacksquare) UK peak: N/A US peak: #33 The highest from her debut, I am so pleased with how it's done <3 it remains one of my faves of hers, it hasn't got the clever lyricism of later songs or the intricacy of production of her pop stuff, but it nails being basic country SO much and I adore it. The song is about a cheating partner and Taylor dismissing them saying they can't have both and should've just stuck to her. This was her first single to chart internationally, sneaking top 20 in New Zealand. Also this inspired an iconic cover by Nichole337 of course, which has more views than Taylor singing this *_* |

16th The Story Of Us 7.36
Highest score: 11 (Joe) Lowest score: 4 (Iz, Swiftie, Mack) UK peak: N/A US peak: #41 (Platinum) Arguably first big hint of Taylors transition to pop as a single bows out next! The Story Of Us is pretty much solid pop-rock without a hint of country, but melodically it is still very Taylor, and the lyrics focus on an awkward meeting between exes after a break-up as the awkward weight of everyting that should be said but is going unsaid fills the air. Musically, the song takes influence from pop-punk with drums and heavy guitar with an upbeat anthemic chorus. This is something I'd have loved to have heard a bit more of Red when she meregd pop and country influences really well but I guess we had Better Than Revenge on Speak Now too. 15th 22 7.57 Highest score: 10 (Spadam, Mack) Lowest score: 0 (Bre) UK peak: #9 US peak: #20 (3x Platinum) The third Red single to bow out is 22! This poppy anthem is in a quite similar vein to We Are Never Getting Back TOgether, but not as strong whilst I love it so I'm a bit eh at it finishing 6 places higher... It's a bop anyway though, one of those I always love more than I realsie when I listen to it Lyrically, it's as joyous as the production, as it details the fun of being young and carefree and just having as much as fun as possible while you can. |

'The Story Of Us' is solid, I'm pretty sure that was the first Taylor song that ever made my personal chart. '22' on the other hand is my least favourite Taylor single, there's just something incredibly annoying about it 'I Knew You Were Trouble' vs. 'Red' for highest 'Red' single then! Would be a turn up for the books if the latter beat both of the huge hits from this era but let's hope not, IKYWT for top 10 please~
