The new miley cyrus track sound like a weird hybrid of wrecking ball and malibu with a little bit of when i look at you thrown in hopefully it can do well sounds great on first listen

Mother daughter took a few listens to start to click maybe thats why this is doing better atm

'Mother's Daughter' was released as part of a 6 track EP (and iirc it wasn't immediately clear that it was the single from it), while this is just one song, of course it's doing better.

It's not to do with Love Island. They're a garage trio consisting of Dapper Laughs, Nathan Richards, and Eddie Craig from Wideboys. And we know Dapper Laughs can have a significant impact on iTunes from Naughty Sesh a couple of years ago.

That'll explain why Mahalia has been doing okay chart wise with Simmer when it hasn't been seen on Spotify or iTunes. Goes to show how "big" Apple Music actually is if it can help a #28 charting song chart officially at #53.

Apple doesn't have as large a userbase as Spotify in the UK (as far as I'm aware x) but it does have slightly outsized influence on the charts to cancel that out a bit because of it being a 100% paid platform, whereas some proportion of Spotify streams are from the free version which counts for 1/6 as much in the charts.

The only way it'll really become a hit is if it gets a good placement on Hot Hits and Apple's equivalent, Kiss and Capital playlisting won't do much for it.
