It's fair to say Molly massively underperformed in the final slot when expected to do much, much better. Well, obviously she underperformed in relation to expectations and she was certainly in the final slot when she did so. That doesn't mean the slot was to blame, though. Molly had a host of other issues and unrealistic expectations in the first place. |

I noticed they started with France in 2013 which was somewhat of a no hoper! I put Belgium as the opener initially aswell, but in a first half with so little uptempo, I can't see them throwing it out first, much like last year COULD'VE started with Golden Boy if they wanted, but it made sense to throw it in early (3rd) but not straight away so that we're littered in ballads.

AND while her song is a complete dud, she kind of looks enough of an event to not be a COMPLETE 'switch off straight away' moment.

I can't believe none of us thought of the easy way to dispose of Germany, use it as a damp squib to make Frans look better. Good game SVT.
Poor Czechia, that is a bit mean on their first final. |

Poor Czechs, thought they'd reward them with a nice slot towards the end of the first half

The UK couldn't have asked for anything better for the type of song we have. I'm glad Russia are relatively early in the running order, only 5 places separating Sergey and Dami makes it quite a fair fight I think - and I do think it will be Dami putting up the closest challenge to Sergey although I still think Sergey will take it fairly easily.
Poor Czech Republic, getting the worst draw possible yet again. Also I'd have liked The Netherlands much later as I think they are in contention for a top 5 spot, but I guess Estonia did well enough last year from a similarly early position. |

Oh good. Hopefully Bulgaria will throw Frans under a bus. It got such a good reaction in Globen.

Really happy with the placement for Joe & Jake, even if a couple of positions earlier is more of an 'ideal' slot, I just never expected them to be given such a late slot And I can't believe how much people have written off Frans now. I'm still keeping the faith!!1 |
