BuzzJack Music Forum _ Eurovision Song Contest _ Eurovision Song Contest Game
Posted by: sm1ffj 6th June 2015, 09:22 PM
Not sure if this will work but here goes anyway
This game is out of the 52 countries that have taken part, each Buzzjack poster picks a country and any song that the country has entered in the past 60 years of the song contest to put forward to represent in the game, once we have 52 countries and songs, all 52 posters will PM me with their votes in the eurovision way and after all vote counted we will have a winner, you cannot vote for your own chosen country.
For example, a buzzjack poster could chose to represent Sweden and put forward ABBA - Waterloo, another could chose to represent the UK with a Song Bucks Fizz - Making Your Mind Up, in the case of Australia, only 1 song is possible to chose.
An interesting result as we will have songs that have never gone up against each other before.
Chose your country and song to put forward.

Posted by: Henderella 7th June 2015, 05:30 AM
Surely a random draw would be the fairest because the first people will always have advantage picking clear favourites.
Posted by: Jerick 7th June 2015, 10:53 AM
You just said that cause I got Luxembourg!!
Posted by: sm1ffj 7th June 2015, 11:30 AM
Tell you what, this is not such a bad idea, I will use random.org to pick the country, I have a list from 1-52 I'll get random.org to select the number, for a poster then the poster has to chose the song.
I will let Luxembourg stand as it has already been picked, it is #28 on my list, listed alphabetically, so from now on just post that you are in, and I will chose a country at random, soon after your post
I did indicate, not sure how this will work.
I hope this is fair changing the rules this early on.

I agree with Pav, would at least make you have to think about what entry to send for a country you might not particularly like etc, instead of just being like "hmm, I'll pick Sweden and Loreen. Thank you very much for the win".

Not such a bad idea now, it is doable we have 24 players so I can select a second one for each poster, all we need is 2 more players, as there is 52 countries.
Tell you what once we have that last player, if it is OK with you lot, I will select a second for the 26 players.
Most of the big countries still in, so still choice there.
If each poster has a second, then at voting, you cannot vote for your own countries, a little more interesting.

Posted by: Henderella 10th June 2015, 08:21 AM
Well, I'm against swapping countries. You MAKE IT WORK, not whine and get all alexrangey.
Look at Robot getting Australia and San Marino and not WHINING. Which would be very justifiable btw~
btw with the 2 countries idea I was thinking of having a choice BETWEEN 2 countries, not having 2 countries per person. Like if you got, off the top of my head, AUSTRIA and BELGIUM, you would have a choice between entries from these two countries. But since we are not likely to have 26 more participants, two songs per person can work as well~

OMG that Yugoslavian choice is F L A W L E S S q(*o*)p
Much better than that song they sent the year before *goes hiding*
Posted by: Henderella 16th June 2015, 07:51 PM
Rock Me was an absolutely lifeless turd so no need to hide~ One of the worst winners to date
I wouldve gone with the 1973 or 1974 entry tho~
Posted by: Iz~ 16th June 2015, 08:03 PM
Oh no I love Rock Me, it's very catchy and lovable (and actually the only Yugoslavian entry I can remember hearing ). Hide Jerick, hide.

If it's not too late, could I change my Lithuanian entry to Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila - This Time. Just listening through Super Eurovision now and Laura & The Lovers wasn't as good as I remembered and 'This Time' is my favourite Lithuanian entry after all!
Posted by: Vülker 17th June 2015, 06:42 PM
Nooooo Ryan
'Little by Little' is one of my faves!

Done, still waiting for others, the game order hasn't closed yet still open for changes of song if anyone wants to.

Mana Mou not being in the Super Eurovision final suggests otherwise, despite it being iconic!

Only because of NINETIES RACISM
We've got LOADS of entries for the 10s already, so I'd HUMBLY SUGGEST
Cyprus 1997, Mana mou Croatia 1998, Neka mi ne svane Bulgaria 2009, Illusion (AS THE ICONIC MESS OF OUR TIMES) Monaco 2006, La coco-dance Switzerland 1998, Lass ihn Macedonia 2000, 100% te ljubam

Still waiting for two posters to give me their songs, and another 1 or 2 to join, shall I either randomly choose the songs for them, or randomly select a bonus country for 8 players, or wait, we need to continue this game at some stage.
Posted by: Henderella 26th June 2015, 12:55 PM
Well, set a deadline and PM them. Otherwise this could literally go on forever. We needn't have a full house.

Smiffj will be getting the voting underway later this week, I've filled in the gaps using Tirren's suggestions except for Bulgaria as I do not want to have to listen to Illusion again (and surely no-one else does except maybe Iz and his strange music taste), so I used Alex's suggestion of DJ Take Me Away.
No-one probably cares now, but we'll see how it goes!
