Sorry. I thought I would open this topic to discuss all the latest goings-on with the Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and La Liga for this season.
A shock result yesterday with Alaves beating Barcelona 2-1. Does anyone watching any of the European Leagues? |

That Alaves match was mental. Don't remember the last time I saw Barcelona's defence/goalkeeper so lacklustre.

A mistake and a converted penalty was not what Joe Hart wanted in his debut for Torino with a 2-1 defeat to Atlanta.

Mainz managed to lose a 4-1 lead to cling on to a 4-4 draw against Hoffenheim today. In Italy, Genoa v Fiorentina was abandoned and Roma v Sampdoria had a long delay, both due to torrential rain.

Elsewher, Bayern Munich are off to a cracking start again (five wins out of five). In France, PSG have had a comparatively shaky start. They have already lost two matches, as many as they lost in the whole of last season. Feyenoord have six wins out of six in the Netherlands.

Quite a surprise yesterday with Celta Vigo beating Barcelona 4-3 there.

Yes they've had quite the ropey start haven't they by their illustrious high standards. Still only 2 points off the top though.

UK TV viewers won't be able to watch the El Clasico derby because of the TV blackout rule where live games can't be shown on a Saturday between 2:45pm and 5:15pm. The kick-off will be at 3:05pm.

Probably the most ludicrous rule ever, I can understand them blocking domestic games to protect attendances (or so they claim) but I highly doubt it makes a difference for a game overseas, unless it's because of something else...

It's not the first time in recent years that El Classico has kicked off at 3.00 on a Saturday. Certainly, the current rule can be said to be outdated nose that so much European football is shown. At the very least they could consider allowing a limited number of games per season to be shown at that time. If there is evidence that it affects attendances, then the rule can be reinstated. Of course, some will see a slight relaxation of the rule to be the start of a slippery slope.

Nice top of the league so far in Ligue 1 although it is early days yet. I expect PSG will win Ligue 1 again.

RB Leipzig, a club only formed in 2009, are joint top of the Bundelsiga after ten games. The RB stands for Red Bull which is where the money has come from.

They aren't that popular in Germany are they, RB Leipzig? From what I've heard, no they're not. There seems to be a lot of resentment about the amount of money they have attracted. It seems to go against the general Bundesliga principle that clubs are owned by their supporters. |

So RB Leipzig go 6 points clear following the 1-4 demolishing of Frieburg last night!

A last-gasp equaliser from Ramos to draw against Barcelona in the El Clasico derby today. Did anyone see the game?
