05. Avicii - Avīci (01)
Charting Singles: 12-08-2017 18 Avicii - You Be Love ft. Billy Raffoul [18-27-33-38](4) 12-08-2017 09 Sandro Cavazza - So Much Better (Avicii Remix) [11-9-12-11-19-27-36](7) 12-08-2017 05 Avicii - Lonely Together ft. Rita Ora [22-16-7-6-5-5-7-12-15-28-35](11) 12-08-2017 01 Avicii - Without You ft. Sandro Cavazza [1-1-1-1-2-3-2-5-8-13-21-27-34-40-39](15) Avīci (01) is an extended play by Swedish DJ and record producer Avicii and was released through Avicii Music on 10 August 2017 Avicii's massively hyped comeback finally happened this year, it's safe to say expectations were extremely high and I think he definitely smashed them with this EP. The follow up to the, let's just say disappointing, Stories from 2015, I was extremely on edge for new music from him. This EP certainly filled the Avicii sized hole in me. It manages to both keep a classic Avicii feel, like in the amazing Without You, as well as showcasing a newer side of production, like in Lonely Together and some completely new sounds from him like in his remix for So Much Better. This EP did an amazing of job of sounding fresh but also not too drastic of a shift from the Avicii we all know and love. Dropped just in time for Summer this EP easily became the sound of my summer holiday to Venice. This EP is outstanding and I would place it higher but I just need more from him 17 minutes of runtime just isn't enough and I'm still salty they pushed Lonely Together over Without You. Bring on Avīci (02), or whatever it's gonna be called. This post has been edited by ChristmasTreeCow: Dec 5 2017, 08:25 PM |

04. Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1
Charting Singles: 25-02-2017 04 Calvin Harris - Slide ft. Frank Ocean & Migos [4-7-9-13-12-11-16-21-25-27-35-38](12) 01-04-2017 05 Calvin Harris - Heatstroke ft. Young Thug, Pharell Williams, Ariana Grande [15-7-6-5-9-18-22-26-33-37](10) 13-05-2017 04 Calvin Harris - Rollin' ft. Future & Khalid [8-4-8-12-17-31-34-40](8) 16-06-2017 09 Calvin Harris - Feels ft. Pharell Williams, Katy Perry, Big Sean [17-17-10-9-10-12-18-26-37](9) 01-07-2017 05 Calvin Harris - Faking It ft. Kelhani, Lil Yachty [32-39-xx¹⁶-21-13-8-6-5-TBC](7) 01-07-2017 15 Calvin Harris - Hard To Love ft. Jessie Reyez [15-24-37](3) Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 is the fifth studio album by Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris. It was released on 30 June 2017 by Columbia Records. This year was undeniably huge for Calvin, Slide being released was a big shock to the system for a lot of people, being totally different to the generic, albeit great, dance bangers he was releasing just the year before. Some people took this change well, others not so well. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of it, one of my favourite producers from one of my favourite genres had completely switched up his style to one that I was very unfamiliar with and not too interested in, so I was, of course, disappointed. But, it was Calvin and I was determined to find a silver lining, and then, at that weekend I put the Slide on in the car and turned the volume up and was transported to summer, it completely clicked with me, it was so vibey and chilled and put me in such an amazing mood and the song just slipped into place with me. It was new and fresh from Calvin and produced so irresistibly well that you could tell he was putting passion into his music again, and I was sooo here for it. More singles came out, like Heatstroke, which, although I personally love it, didn't get matched with such great reception, and then the amazing Rollin' which failed to even make the top 40, and for a while it looked like Calvin was about to completely flop with this era, was he gonna fade into the realm of irrelevancy (*cough* like Guetta *cough*). But then Feels came out, and with the help of a certain Katy Perry (who also happened to have a very floppy era), Calvin was shoved back into stardom. I think this managed to help Calvin's new sound connect with people, and just in time for summer I think people really got what he was doing with the album. Now the album itself isn't exactly outstanding or near the level of 18 months say, some gems such as Hard To Love and Faking It and some not so gems, such as Cash Out, but I have to give him kudos for the fact 10 years after he first began having hits, he still found a way to sound fresh and new and still making amazing music. This album made my summer which gives it such a high place in the top 10. (ok why tf does Slide not have a video, not ok) This post has been edited by ChristmasTreeCow: Dec 9 2017, 05:43 PM |

Gonna actually try to reply to these from now on lol
Holding out hope that Without You becomes the second single, it's really grown on me in the past few days SO hoping that they push Without You at some point, it definitely has potential to take off considering it was in the lower regions of the Spotify top 50 for months Love the Avicii EP! Can't believe you didn't chart Friend of Mine though Friend Of Mine is probs my least fave on the album whoops, it's not bad by any means but it's a bit too Avicii by numbers I guess, when the rest of the EP feels so fresh and new number five????? but great to see you love the EP too I'm v thirsty for more now. I'm sorryyyy, I was surprised myself when I was compiling it cus I thought it'd at least be top 3 but I just can't put it above the next 4 albums The EP is really good but Lonely Together is miles ahead of the rest. Lonely Together is really great but it can never top Without You |

Gonna actually try to reply to these from now on lol I hope they don't tbh I'd rather Avicii just slayed us with Part 2 as a Christmas present or something and they push whatever takes off from that. It's a bit too late for Without You now.SO hoping that they push Without You at some point, it definitely has potential to take off considering it was in the lower regions of the Spotify top 50 for months LOVE the Calvin album, so good. |

Couldn't agree more with how fantastic it is that Calvin is still experimenting and keeping things fresh so far into his career. I still enjoy a safe TIWYCF style bop ofc but the dip into a more urban sound has worked wonders for him this era and Funk Wav Bounces could potentially be my favourite album of his yet!! Skrt On Me and Faking It are my big highlights on the album, I'm still holding on to a little bit of hope that the former might maybe still be pushed a single |

03. Imagine Dragons - ƎVOLVE
Charting Singles: 29-04-2017 25 Imagine Dragons - Thunder [25-32](2) 24-06-2017 39 Imagine Dragons - Mouth Of The River [39](1) 24-06-2017 15 Imagine Dragons - Start Over [15-27-35](3) 24-06-2017 23 Imagine Dragons - Yesterday [23-25-32](3) Evolve (stylized as ƎVOLVE) is the third studio album by American rock band Imagine Dragons, released on June 23, 2017 through KIDinaKORNER and Interscope Records. I reaallyyyy love this album, after I wasn't really feeling Believer and I found Thunder good, but nothing special, my hype for this album was certainly not too high. Something about it just wasn't clicking with me like the singles for the previous albums did. But then the album came out and my opinions flipped completely upside down (seems to be a common theme with albums this year lol). It is full of variety and has such a sense of depth and greatness that wasn't present in the singles by themselves, songs like Thunder clicked with and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I remembered. You can tell they're trying new things as well as keeping their typical unique sound. While Evolve is no Night Visions, and I don't think Imagine Dragons will be able to reach those heights ever again, it is really good and is full of gems and is certainly on par with, if not an improvement on Smoke + Mirrors. This album has been a highlight of the year for me, and I'm dead excited to go and see them in February This post has been edited by ChristmasTreeCow: Dec 11 2017, 01:20 PM |

I hope they don't tbh I'd rather Avicii just slayed us with Part 2 as a Christmas present or something and they push whatever takes off from that. It's a bit too late for Without You now. LOVE the Calvin album, so good. Yeah, you're probably right tbh, it's probably been and gone now for Without You, unfortunately Yaaaay for Dua Her album is one of my favourites of the year too, I was excited for it anyway but it still grew and grew with each play! It really is so good I was completely not expecting to love it as much as I did Still not sure about the new Calvin album, I can't deny Feels is really catchy but I just crave for the Calvin we knew back in the 00s I do crave classic Calvin quite often, but I'm really loving his new stuff too so I can't complain too much, I do hope he eventually produces his older stuff though at some point BridgeCow! Skrt On Me and Faking It are my big highlights on the album, I'm still holding on to a little bit of hope that the former might maybe still be pushed a single Hi! Yeah, as much as his safe bangers are amazing, he needed to do something fresh. Funk Wav Bounces is certainly a very strong album, but nothing will ever come close to hoe good 18 Months was Skrt On Me is really good, but I don't think I could see it as a single, just such a shame Faking It is doing nothing |

Hi Bridgecow
I think my Imagine Dragons ranking would have to be Night Visions > Smoke + Mirrors > Evolve, so getting progressively worse, haha whoops I did like this album but I didn't go back to it half as much as their other albums and now I'd struggle to name more than a few tracks from it. The songs as standalone singles have been really good but I found the album itself a little forgettable I'm sure you'll have a great time going to see them too, I bet the atmosphere in tracks like "Radioactive" and "Demons" will be amazing!! |

02. Mura Masa - Mura Masa
Charting Singles: 18-03-2017 01 Mura Masa & Charli XCX - 1 Night [1-1-1-1-2-2-2-2-2-3-6-10-16-24-28-34](16) 20-05-2017 17 Mura Masa - All Around The World ft. Desiigner [19-17-17-26-35](5) 01-07-2017 39 Mura Masa - Blu ft. Damon Albarn [39](1) 01-07-2017 03 Mura Masa - Second 2 None ft. Christine And The Queens [5-3-5-8-11-14-21-35-39](9) 15-07-2017 24 Mura Masa - helpline ft. Tom Tripp [39-30-24-32](4) 15-07-2017 13 Mura Masa - Nuggets ft. Bonzai [26-19-13-18-28-36](6) 22-07-2017 36 Mura Masa - Messy Love [36](1) Mura Masa is the self-titled debut studio album by Guernsey-born music producer Alex Crossan, under his alias Mura Masa. It was released on 14 July 2017 by Polydor, Interscope, Downtown and Anchor Point Records. Mura Masa was already one of my top artists of 2016 with the amazing Love$ick. So early this year when I saw he was doing a collaboration with Charli XCX I was, understandably, incredibly excited. I remember being in the car at around half 7 listening to Radio 1 play it as their hottest record, and, although I was expecting it to be good, I was never ever expecting it to be THIS good. And I knew from the moment the song finished that it had just rocketed it's way into being one of my top songs of 2017 (spoilers whoops). It was huge for me, spending a massive 4 weeks at number 1, which only one other song has managed this year (from a certain Avicii). Mura Masa kept churning out the songs from his album in the weeks before it's release and I kept on charting and charting them, each song sounded new and fresh and of just such a high quality, I was completely mind blown. It's such a diverse, fresh and interesting album that held up through many repeated listens, which makes it my second favourite album of the year, but what's number one? Mura Masa does seem a bit 'average', I mean I do like What If I Go and Lovesick, but I'm not sold on any of his other stuff
