Well this was a very welcome return indeed, the section about the sea chameleons was incredible and it still astounds me just how animals can have so much instinct in the first moments of life.

Wow, this was amazing and the photography was stunning, and that island inhabited by loads of penguins. Just imagine counting them, you get lost after awhile laugh.gif

I do sense this could be David Attenborough's last adventure, considering his age, he is such a remarkable naturalist, there is no one else like him.

I thought programs like Africa and Frozen Planet would be his last, but he just keeps proving us wrong! I feel 90 might be pushing it for much else, but he's clearly not lost any of his drive (which is why he is the most amazing man on the planet ofc.)

Amazing first episode, my heart was in my mouth for those iguanas and that lost penguin! Amazing how they catch these stories on camera even if is just edited together.

A great start to the series. I loved the sequence with the lizard escaping from all those snakes. When Attenborough mentioned an island full of chicks I had visions of Trump rushing to book a ticket there.

The iguana scene was excruciatingly brilliant TV! I was on the edge of my seat throughout drama.gif that and the final penguin scene!

Stunning first episode as expected, can't wait for 'mountains' next week.

some things I could NOT deal with -

-seeing some of the baby iguana's not making it
-the whole "bird-catcher" mess
-blind crabs just...perishing
-bloody/battered/broken penguins @ the very end

some things I could certainly deal with -

-those gorgeous lovelorn albatrosses
-komodo dragons just generally being badass
-DADDY PENGUIN RETURNING AND FEEDING HIS BABY wub.gif

such a wonderful show. easily one of the TV highlights of 2016 and we're only one episode in! Hanz Zimmer has also done a wonderful job scoring this!

Loved the penguins too - and the sloth was pretty great. Bet Zootropolis has a lot to answer for there.

Great programme. Those snakes appearing from seemingly nowhere to chase the iguanas!

I don't understand the iguana scene.

Why were there so many snakes in one place anyway?

Another great episode, the highlight of the episode was the bear scratching and the flamingos dancing, also the rare snow leopard, which are rarely seen, so beautifully photographed by camera in freezing temperatures.

The bears were great laugh.gif

All too predictably, the Sun has used the programme to attack the BBC. Apparently, it contains too much violence. Clearly, for the Sun, only footage of animals popping into the local supermarket to buy their food would be acceptable.

It's such a fantastically executed and fascinating watch. The behind the scenes snippet at the end is certainly a welcome addition too!

This was stunning again. The Snow Leopards were interesting, even if the type of stealth camerawork meant that we didn't get quite the same quality footage as we usually get.

I like the footage about the filming at the end too, I particularly love the way David Attenborough talks about the film crew in the same manner that he does the animals.
