Dexton's Top 40 (03/07/2018) (Week 60)
Making chart history this week, Panic! At The Disco become the first artist to push themselves off the top spot as Hey Look Ma, I Made It (4-1) rises to the top and last weeks #1 High Hopes (1-2) falls to #2. This also becomes the 4th time in my chart's history that an artist has held the Top 2 positions simultaneously. Avicii, Justin Timberlake, and George Ezra are the other 3 - and in Avicii's case, he also held the entire Top 3. Maroon 5's Girls Like You featuring Cardi B (2-3) spends a 4th week in the Top 5, and Jorja Smith earns her second Top 5 hit with Blue Lights (6-4). Lily Allen's Lost My Mind (3-5) closes the Top 5 whilst her album No Shame falls out of the Top 10. Kygo & Imagine Dragons' Born To Be Yours (16-7) gives each artist their 1st and 5th Top 10 hit respectively. Cardi B's I Like It featuring J Balvin & Bad Bunny (9-8) climbs for another week in a stragne chart run I admit Other notable climbs this week come from Niall Horan & Maren Morris' Seeing Blind (15-13), Cheat Codes & Little Mix's Only You (27-15), Panic! At The Disco's King Of The Clouds (35-17), Ariana Grande's The Light Is Coming featuring Nicki Minaj (37-18), The Rubens' Never Ever featuring Sarah Aarons (25-19), Jonas Blue's Rise featuring Jack & Jack (38-20), Nicki Minaj's Bed featuring Ariana Grande (28-21), Martin Garrix's Ocean featuring Khalid (26-22), and Sigala, Fuse ODG,& Sean Paul's Feels Like Home featuring Kent Jones (33-23). A few new entries sneak in further down the chart, including Drake's Don't Matter To Me at #27 which features a posthumous appearance from Michael Jackson. Drake's album Scorpion enters the album chart at #2 this week, close behind Panic! At The Disco's Pray For The Wicked which spends a second week on top. Much like Drake, Years & Years earn their 3rd consecutive Top 30 hit on my chart with All For You at #29, the latest single from their upcoming album Palo Santo (the title track of which is likely to chart next week). Closing out the chart are new entries from Jax Jones, OneRepublic, and Paramore. OneRepublic and Paramore enter with their latest singles, hoping to continue on their trend of singles and each earn a 4th Top 20 hit. As mentioned, Panic!'s album Pray For The Wicked continues at #1 for a 2nd week - becoming the first album in about 2 months to spend more than one week at the top! Non-charting songs from this album I am loving right now include One Of The Drunks and Roaring 20's. As a whole I am really enjoying this album right now and could not point out a weak track if I had to Thanks for coming Top 40 Songs (#58) 01 04 Panic! Hi Dexton!
I still haven't got round to listening to the Panic! album but may get a chance this afternoon! I'm kinda annoyed that Michael Jackson's people allowed the Drake collab because I think Drake's so vastly over rated, but whatever 'Ring Ring' is definitely a step down from Jax Jones' last few releases but I think it will still go Top 40 for him. Not feeling the new OneRepublic as much as 'Start Again'. It's a shame they're past their peak, they've had some great songs over the years! Great stuff as usual |

Hi Dexton!
Nice to see Never Ever in your Top 20, it's a great track and one I've had stuck in my head for a while now! Giving the new Years & Years a listen now, all the tracks I've heard from this new album are so different This is actually better than If You're Over Me! Ring Ring has also grown since my initial disappointment, it's clearly not a Jax Jones classic but it is fairly catchy. Giving Caught In the Middle a listen now also, I remember it from listening to the album and it is one of the better songs, the chorus particularly is nice. Great chart |

I hope you like it 110% recommend it if you're yet to listen I don't think Drake is overrated but I do think he has a huge fan-base that adores his music, similar to how Post Malone is becoming/has become in the past year or so I'm not a huge fan, but the songs of his I do like I like a lot so who am I to judge Ring Ring debuted Top 40 I think I hope it can be another hit for him though, probably Instruction-sized or Top 20 at the least I think OneRepublic are working on a new album now, which will hopefully be more consistent than their last few non-album singles have been. I loved Oh My My but I think I'd still consider it their weakest album just because of how strong their material has been as a whole before that Thanks for commenting! Hi Dexton! Never Ever is growing on me a lot, their new album is fairly good too! Should chart for me next week (and the Gorillaz album I forgot to chart this week oops) All For You is a really nice song. There's been so much variety in their singles I am a little bit worried the album will sound a bit all over the places, hopefully the singles are just showing how varied the album will be and the album tracks will bridge each song together Caught In The Middle was a highlight from the album for me, over time I've grown to enjoy everything on the album but this was one of the most instant for me on it Thanks for commenting! |

Hello Dexton!
Great to see "Born To Be Yours" in your top 10! I also like the big gains for "Rise" and "Feels Like Home"! And nice to see the debuts of "All For You", "Ring Ring", "Connection" and "Caught In The Middle", unfortunately I still can not get into "Don't Matter To Me". Great chart as always! |

Hey Dexton!
03 02 Maroon 5 Girls Like You (feat. Cardi B) [10-4-3-2-3] This is probably my favourite song if there's in a couple years. 04 06 Jorja Smith Blue Lights [21-6-4] 05 03 Lily Allen Lost My Mind [3-5] I adore this. It's very similar to the Fear imo. 09 07 Clean Bandit Solo (feat. Demi Lovato) [3-1-1-3-4-7-9] I'm actually listening to this right now. I'm not a fan of the direction that Demi has went in the last few years but this is undeniably great. 10 08 George Ezra Shotgun [6-12-23-31-39-28-21-10-1-2-2-2-5-8-10] 12 11 Troye Sivan Dance to This (feat. Ariana Grande) [2-11-12] 15 27 Cheat Codes & Little Mix Only You [27-15] 18 37 Ariana Grande The Light Is Coming (feat. Nicki Minaj) [37-18] 20 38 Jonas Blue Rise (feat. Jack & Jack) [38-20] 21 28 Nicki Minaj Bed (feat. Ariana Grande) [22-28-21] 22 26 Martin Garrix Ocean (feat. Khalid) [37-26-22] 25 18 Selena Gomez Back To You [20-10-3-5-6-18-25] This is also my fave of hers in a couple years. 29 00 Years & Years All For You [29] 30 20 Labrinth, Sia, & Diplo Audio [38-xx2-37-29-19-20-30] 32 23 Ariana Grande No Tears Left To Cry [2-2-1-2-4-8-11-12-14-23-32] Not a massive fan of Ariana but this is gorgeous! 36 24 Labrinth, Sia, & Diplo Genius [36-24-11-7-5-7-12-24-36] 38 00 Jax Jones Ring Ring (feat. Mabel & Rich The Kid) [38] 39 00 OneRepublic Connection [39] fantastic chart! |

Heyhey!
Panic top 2 *.* Really loving Say Amen and High Hopes this week, need to get listening to the album! Also need to hear Lily's album this reminds me, heard nothing but good things but have held off for ages bc I wasn't a huge fan of the singles, although it seems like everyone thinks it's better than they suggest so I should get onto it Paramore sneaking in too yas! |

Hey there Dexton
I am really sleeping on this Panic! era it seems, oops let me make a mental note to finally check out stuff from it However, I DO know a few of your newbies here! 'Don't Matter To Me' is a really classy Drake release, I was really intrigued for it but didn't know what to expect, so it's good that it's been generally well received. I also really like 'All For Me' and 'Caught In The Middle', it seems the latter has just about snuck into both of our charts haha. I am such a flop for not checking out the whole of 'After Laughter' still but the singles have all been solid. Great stuff |

Born To Be Yours is sounding great in this odd patch of sun we're having after weeks of rain Both Rise & Feels Like Home should rise again next week! Don't Matter To Me is growing on me but both Nice For What and God's Plan were much more instant :/ NFW especially Thanks for commenting! Hey Dexton! 03 02 Maroon 5 Girls Like You (feat. Mabel & Rich The Kid) [38] 39 00 OneRepublic Connection [39] fantastic chart! Hey JSG! Girls Like You is my favourite since Maps I think, although I have enjoyed all of their releases lately Albeit the album wasn't their best work.. I don't know about the The Fear comparison, other than they're both in the better half of her discography Solo is such a tune Thanks for commenting! Heyhey! Panic top 2 *.* Really loving Say Amen and High Hopes this week, need to get listening to the album! Hey Liam Say Amen is sounding a bit old to me now, I am fairly sure I played it wayy too much when it was released.. and listening to it back to back with the Death of a Bachelor album didn't help High Hopes is still amazing although unlikely to climb back to it's peak Lily's album is good but it's not the most groundbreaking in terms of sound. She really doesn't hold back lyrically though so it's definitely worth a listen! Paramore coming for a 4th Top 10 hit Thanks for commenting! High Hopes is up there with their best I think, as is Say Amen! How have you not heard After Laughter yet .-. It's definitely my favourite Paramore album although their self-titled has my favourite Paramore song, Ain't It Fun I've had their whole discography on in the car and it is excellent *.* Who knew I was into such emo pop (well, former emo pop bands) Expect Caught In The Middle to climb soon Thanks for commenting! |

Hi Dexton,
totally agree on your top 2 , and theyve done the same on my chart, a very rare pushing themselves off - a shame for High Hopes as it would be on a 6-week run on top otherwise Dramatic and passionate and fab! Kygo, Clean Bandit, george Ezra all still climbing in my charts, out of your top 10 choices, I'm going to have check out Panic!'s Clouds track, Years & Years sounded fab on Radio 2 done live as a ballad last week, Jonas, Garrix, Liam & Ariana, all still sounding good too. Fab! Cheers! John |
