I really like Matt as an actor in pretty much everything I've seen him in and he seems like a really nice guy too. I'm glad he's got a screenplay Oscar because he's probably not going to win one for acting and the screenplay for GWH is really special
In terms of performances: 1 Good Will Hunting 2 The Martian 3 Invictus I loved him in GWH and a lot of his scenes made me really emotional toward the end, he was a little overshadowed by Robin Williams though. He was loads of fun in The Martian and carried the film in his back very well, it is hard to judge a comedic performance against a more dramatic one though so I'm not sad he didn't win (I preferred Redmayne that year anyway) . He was decent in Invictus too but it's not the most challenging role, he had a convincing South African accent though! |
