I am unable to upload ANY IMAGE, via image upload sites or direct image links. The site keeps saying these extensions are not allowed... To any image.

For imgur it can be a bit misleading. You will need to copy the BBcode embed link, not the imgur URL link. If you somehow cannot get the BBcode embed link, you can open the new image on another window and get that url. An alternative would be to use imgbb. Sometimes it can be useful when imgur doesn't allow you to upload your images or gifs for some unknown reasons.

I switched to imgur, as you suggested, as I had forgotten that it existed! That worked. The other website I used were terrible, and I was trying to upload gifs, I realised, and those other image sites did not upload them correctly.

Has it always been so hard to do a simple task, 30 minutes and still getting the same errors ffs

Could be that you are missing the file format (e.g. ".jpg", ".png") at the end x
