1. Name an actor/actress from Harry Potter who isn't one of the lead three
Alan Rickman (14) Bré, Chez, HarryEzra, Haus, Iz, Jahq, Jonjo, Josh, Lee, Lotti, Mack, Regina, Richie, SamJudd, Ultraviolence Tom Felton (1) Dobbo, Jade Helena Bonham Carter (0) Jack Matthew Lewis (0) Joe We start with an easy one that turns out to be a landslide (though maybe not the biggest). The vast majority go with the late Alan Rickman who played potion master Snape, a very significant character throughout the books and one of the best, with a lot more to him than initially meets the eye. The only other answer to score any points is Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy, another one of Harry's enemies. Joe - I know you had the Attitude cover in mind, but sadly that isn't the logic used here. |

Argh, the reason I went for Neville, is because he was kind of like the guest star of the lead three! It was either him or Tom Felton I would have gone with. I would never have thought to go for one of the teachers, but I guess Alan's passing played a hand here.

Alan Rickman seemed the most current answer, he is great in what I've seen him in but I think Snape is definitely his best role.
My favourite non-main three character has to be Maggie Smith's McGonagall though <3 HBC really brought Bellatrix to life too. |

I wasn't totally sure that'd be a landslide but the more I thought about it the more obvious it seems. Might've got closer results if it was name another CHARACTER but for actor/actress he is the obvious one ~

2. Name a performance that was a 'big' snub at the Oscars this year*
Idris Elba “Beasts of No Nation” (5) Chez, HarryEzra, Haus, Josh, Regina, Ultraviolence Jacob Tremblay “Room” (4) Iz, Jahq, Joe, Jonjo, Lotti Johnny Depp “Black Mass” (0) Mack Jennifer Aniston “Cake” (0) Jack Will Smith “Concussion” (0) Richie Michael B Jordan “Creed” (0) SamJudd Dakota Johnson “Fifty Shades of Grey” (0) Dobbo Sylvester Stallone “Creed” (0) Jade Jason Lee “Alvin & the Chipmunks” (0) Bré The Saturdays “Christmas Wrapping” (from that Australian movie) (0) Lee A tight one with Idris winning out off the back of the #oscarssowhite debate! Young Jacob Tremblay is the other one to score points for his performance in "Room" which was as good as any adult actor. I would've expected more people to say Will Smith given the fuss that Jada kicked up, bad luck Richie! Johnny Depp was also tipped to get a nod early on and that never happened. Jennifer Aniston would've been nominated last year, Sylvester Stallone was nominated (don't know if Jade took the question in a different way because him not winning was seen as a bit of a shock) and Dakota Johnson :') Well, that was my favourite of the silly answers. |

I nearly went for Sebby but my desire for points took over.

Well that's rather annoying, I had Alan Rickman as a later answer but completely overlooked him there whoops!

OH I misread that question, I thought it meant a nominee where it was a shock that they didn't win :') and Alan Rickman completely slipped my mind, Draco was just the first Harry Potter character that came into my head that wasn't one of the main three.
Flopping as expected. |

Will Smith was my first thought actually so glad I still had Jungle Book on the brain and Idris popped into my head. Jacob Tremblay really should have been nominated though (and won tbh).

I knew Jacob wouldn't be the top score, but I had to go with the truest!

3. Aside from Baloo, name an animal character from The Jungle Book
Bagheera (5) Chez, Haus, Iz, Jade, Joe, Mack Kaa (4) Dobbo, Jack, Lotti, Regina, Ultraviolence Shere Khan (3) Jahq, Jonjo, Josh, SamJudd King Louie (0) Richie Akela (0) HarryEzra The crocodile one (0) Bré The bear (0) Lee Pretty close with three stand out answers here, but Bagheera the black panther, a mentor figure to Mowgli, is triumphant. Kaa the snake, voiced by Scarlett Johansson in the current live-action movie, is second and I understand that he/she (gender varying by version of the story seemingly) is more prominent is previous versions? Sadly it's not another top answer for Idris as tiger Shere Khan, main villain of the story, is only the third most popular answer. Other answers include King Louie (created by Disney and not in the books as I understand) and Akela who is the top answer when looking at Wikipedia. The crocodile must be Jacala and the bear is Baloo who I specifically wasn't including. |
