No surprises with the Now HMV album - exactly the kind of songs I was expecting tbh.

I’m not overly fussed with it but have ordered just because HMV is such an iconic brand - hopefully it does well in the compilation charts for a few weeks.

It will do well because it’s a limited edition album. I think it’s one of those ‘once it’s gone, it’s gone’ albums

The sheer volume of new releases that the Now team are putting out is truly excessive and to the point of ridiculous. This week they’re teasing something “Disco” related and it feels just so unnecessary;

All I would be interested in purchasing at this point is a series of the Yearbook volumes that we are anticipating since the release of 1983 last month.

Shame the original version of "You Sexy Thing" has never appeared on a numbered NOW. Both it’s appearances on 9 and 38 were the 80s mix

It might not yet be time to think about the next volume, Now 110, but here’s a personal tracklisting made using recent and future hits.

Due to frequent issues licensing music by Ed Sheeran, I’ve purposely ignored those songs, which means, as it stands, there are no available #1 singles.

DISC 1

1. Elton John & Dua Lipa – Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)
2. ABBA – Don’t Shut Me Down
3. Little Mix – Love (Sweet Love)
4. Jesy Nelson feat. Nicki Minaj – Boys
5. Becky Hill & David Guetta – Remember
6. Joel Corry & Jax Jones feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie – OUT OUT
7. Rain Radio & DJ Craig Gorman – Talk About
8. Jonasu – Black Magic
9. David Guetta & Mistajam feat. John Newman – If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)
10. The Weeknd – Take My Breath
11. The Kid LAROI feat. Justin Bieber – STAY
12. Lil Nas X feat. Jack Harlow – INDUSTRY BABY
13. Lizzo feat. Cardi B – Rumors
14. Doja Cat – Need To Know
15. KSI feat. Lil Wayne – Lose
16. Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever
17. Olivia Rodrigo – traitor
18. Mimi Webb – Dumb Love
19. Shawn Mendes & Tainy – Summer Of Love
20. Maroon 5 feat. Megan Thee Stallion – Beautiful Mistakes
21. Bruno Mars, Anderson. Paak & Silk Sonic – Skate
22. Sigrid – Burning Bridges
23. Lorde – Solar Power

DISC 2

1. Becky Hill & Topic – My Heart Goes (La Di Da)
2. Anne-Marie & Little Mix – Kiss My (Uh Oh)
3. Sigala & Rita Ora – You For Me
4. PS1 feat. Alex Hosking – Life Goes On
5. MENTIS feat. Kate Wild – Excuses
6. Shouse – Love Tonight (David Guetta Remix)
7. Clean Bandit & Topic feat. Wes Nelson – Drive
8. Ella Henderson, House Gospel Choir & Just Kiddin – Risk It All
9. RAYE – Call On Me
10. Mabel – Let Them Know
11. WILLOW feat. Travis Barker – t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l
12. Doja Cat feat. The Weeknd – You Right
13. Normani feat. Cardi B – Wild Side
14. Dave feat. Stormzy – Clash
15. Pinkpanthress – Just For Me
16. Billie Eilish – NDA
17. Mimi Webb – 24/5
18. Dermot Kennedy – Better Days
19. Tom Grennan – Don’t Break The Heart
20. Sam Fender – Seventeen Going Under
21. Rag’n’Bone Man – Alone
22. Camilo Cabello – Don’t Go Yet

I think if Abba makes it on, I think it’ll be last track CD 2. Can’t see it being in the first couple of tracks on CD 1.

It seems logical to think, and perhaps that’s what will happen, I just can’t see many big name stories or chart successes leading the way for the opening tracks on either disc yet. Hopefully something big will chart in the next 8 weeks.

The version of "Livin' On A Prayer" which appears on NOW HMV is the NOW 9 edit. That's the second time it's been used

When did the word “rock” only get used to describe classic rock music from the last century? Are we ignoring all forms of modern rock music or dismissing any other sub-genre of indie and alternative music as not befitting the genre?

I really like the artwork / concept of the Yearbook releases, but I hope this isn’t a temporary thing and they actually go as far as the late 90s / early 00s (which I’m more likely to want to purchase!)
